AMAZING! All I can say is WOW. My boyfriend and I came up to flagstaff for the weekend and this was on our bucket list. We opted for the 2 hour trail ride through Coconino National forest, and it was beautiful. Our guide Chris was super friendly and helpful; we had many great conversations throughout the ride. He is very knowledgeable about the area and made it even more enjoyable. Highly recommend coming here if you love horseback riding or just want to disconnect from the world and reconnect with nature. This stable has no idea how important it is to have a good communication channel with potential customers. I called and left 3 voice mail messages inquiring as to if they did private trail rides on Mondays for two experienced riders. They never once called me back to say no they don't do private trail rides ever and that they're not even open on Mondays. On their prerecorded message, they said that I could also text them. I texted them twice, and they finally texted me back after the 2nd text. My text said that I wanted an 8am trail ride for the 2 of us. They got back to me and said that they could do that. I asked them to let me know how much it would cost, and they never got back to me. We showed up at 7:30am and we're told that there were 2 order riders that would be joining us so the ride would be closer to 9am. I said, "But we were told you could take us at 8am!" The owner said once again."If we still wanted to go, it would be closer to 9am!" "Fine", I said. We had both requested an hour long trail ride. The young man that took us for the trail ride and was an NAU student couldn't have been nicer. We genuinely enjoyed talking with him. Once we got out on the trail ride it was very pretty scenary. But the hour trail ride turned out to be a 45-minute trail ride. That was very dissaointing. As a result, we will never go back. read more

Going on my third year boarding here during the summer. These guys are the best. Always take great care of my horses. Very clean and staff is as helpful as can be. What an amazing experience! We signed up for the hour trailride and it ended up being just the two of us with the FANTASTIC guide Buck! He was a blast. Told us great stories, made us feel safe, and even the most socially awkward of the two of us was comfortable and had a blast. This is our first time visiting the Flagstaff area and the first time my 6 year old has done a trail ride. He loved it! We all loved it! It was a beautiful ride through a nicely wooded area with such calm, beautiful horses. It was peaceful and extremely enjoyable. The two wranglers that took us out on our ride, Mary and Kaylie (sorry if I spelled the name wrong!) were awesome. They provided info on the area and recommended other places to check out during our trip and really did a great job at leading our two younger kiddos on their horses. We all had so much fun. If you call and leave a message, don't get your hopes up. I called two weeks prior to our trip for a service 2 hour horseback trail ride. The message said they only work on weekends. Ok I get it. It's a mom and pops place. So I waited for the weekend. No callback on Sunday so I called again and left another message. Nothing. Then 3 days before our desired appointment time they called back saying they still have reservations available. I had missed the call so I called back minutes after receiving their voicemail. I got their voicemail again. Left another message and tried calling back each day after. Nothing. We had some disappointed kids but it was a good life lesson. My daughter started to feel sick on the ride and Sydney took great care of her while keeping us all safe on our horses. Today we drove up from Phoenix just for a Christmas sleigh ride. After tracking the weather all week we decided to go for it, snow or not. We were truly blessed with lots of snow on the ground and lightly falling while we were out. Sounds perfect, yes? Well, it was! Not just for the weather and surroundings, but Chris and Cody made it so much fun. We had 5 of our 8 kids with us, and they fit right in. Joking and laughing with us the whole time. Just an amazing experience for our family. We booked a trail ride and got so much more! Not only were we welcomed graciously by AJ and his wife, Megan, but little Evelyn was truly the ranch ambassador. Our 5 year old son got to ride his own horse, which he was thrilled about. My mother booked a reservation for 2 people to go on a 2-hour ride. She was asked what the skill level of the riders was and told them we have some experience, thinking it would involve more than the horses walking around for two hours. When we arrived on the day of the ride, we were told the horses could only walk. After saying this was not what we expected, I specifically asked if there was any cancellation fee and was told "no, you'll be fine". I'm fairly certain this implies we wouldn't be charged the full amount of the ride! We left the premises and when I checked my credit card transactions the next day, I noticed we were charged $200. I called them to discuss why, and was told that we were charged because they have a 48-hour cancellation policy. I was also told that the woman who said "no, you'll be fine" shouldn't have said that. Ya think? IF I HAD KNOWN WE'D BE CHARED ANYWAY, WE WOULD HAVE TAKEN THE RIDE! A cancellation policy is a cancellation policy, but ethics come into play at some point. When someone tells you that you're not going to be charged for something, you believe them. When I was told I wouldn't be charged, that was an oral contract, which was soon broken. Very shady and deceptive business practice that, regardless of policy or what the person "shouldn't have said", is wrong. That's no excuse. read more

This secluded horse ranch is a crowd jewel for the city of Flagstaff. We discovered it on Mother's Day and decided to go for an hour ride. When we got there we were surprised as how quiet it is and how it's completely in the nature that is just off major city roads. Our host a young couple were so pleasant and took such good care of us. Our guild AJ is a real cowboy and I can't say that was kind of a surprise for us. We went on this one hour ride and it was full of surprises. Our horses peed, pooped and stumbled on things. My kids age 5 and 7 both were quite natural controlling their horses. Me an armature felt the ride was easy enough yet adventurous. We went here with our entire family for a sleigh ride last year. We tried to make a reservation here again this year and somehow ended up and an awful place. We were so disappointed and told everyone there how wonderful your stables are. With the sleigh ride we rode out through the forest for a long time to a amazing camp with cowboys with hot chocolate, cider and wonderful photo ops. I love this place! My husband and I came here for our 1st wedding anniversary and it was so much fun. It's $55 per hour per rider so it's an expensive activity but I thought it was well worth it. The horses are very calm and friendly! They're a joy to hang out with. The dogs on the property are also very sweet and friendly. The trail guides and everyone who works there are awesome! I scheduled a one hour ride for my 8 year old daughter and myself. We were asked to arrive at 2:00 PM for a 2:30 ride. At 12:34, I received a message and voice mail saying their wrangler was sick and they had to cancel the ride. Mind you, we live about an hour and a half away from the business. As I scheduled, they informed me of a policy that if I cancel within 48 hours of the rides, I will be charged for both rides. I understood and accepted. A business can have a safe guard for themselves, but not put in place safeguards to protect the interest of their customers. It was disappointing and annoying. Take your business elsewhere, hopefully a place that protects the interests of the customer as the priority. read more

My girlfriend and I did the one hour trail ride. We arrived at the property and were taken away by the gorgeous scenery and how well taken care of the ranch is. Our ride host was AJ, I rode the horse called "Barbwire" and my girlfriend rode "Cherokee". AJ was very knowledgeable about the horses and answered all our questions promptly. Having never ridden a horse before I was nervous but became comfortable quickly with AJ's guidance. The ride was very nice and the scenery was beautiful, AJ even educated us about the land we were riding through. Overall it was a great experience and I would definitely do it again. There was a review on here claiming AJ is rude and they would not recommend riding with him, I brought that up with AJ and it was debunked. Buyer/tourist/visitor BEWARE!!! The owner of this business, Roger Hartman, is awful!!! I will not support this local business and I would encourage no one else to. I was booking a trail ride for my daughter for her birthday and was told the price was $75 per person. I mentioned that the website says the trail rides are $55 a person. The lady told me she would have to talk to the owner about whether he would honor that price or not. I sent the link to the business of the page on their site that had the $55 price listed. The lady called me back and said that the owner refused to honor his price listed on his website. We were booking for 4 people and he decided to stick with the $75 and lose the business all together instead of honoring his own websites price. My husband and I scheduled a ride for 2 hours. It was really beautiful until my horse tripped and went down and fell on me. Very scary! It was at the end of the ride. I was injured pretty bad when the 1,400 pound animal landed on me. What was so sad was when we returned to the stable, the staff was very uncaring and ignored what just happened. The name of the horse was "Barbwire". Please don't take a chance on this horse, she stumbled two other times during the ride. Not sure if they should retire her. I told the handler before the ride that I had a prior injury three years ago, that I would appreciate a push-button ride. read more

We had so much fun on our 2 hour ride! It was at 1:30 and the weather was perfect! Not too hot. The ride follows a beautiful trail that takes you to another time! We even saw a herd of elk. There were other people out there, the whole way we only encountered one hiker for the whole trip! The horses seemed happy and well taken care of. Our trail guide Chris was friendly and helpful. Wow. Where to start...It's $8/pp plus $4/pp for the hay ride. Pumpkins are not included. No food. No beverages. There are "games" to play in the barn...a worn out corn hole set and a tiny bounce slide. The "petting zoo" is just looking at a couple of animals in their pens. The "decorating station" for your pumpkins was a a couple of sharpie markers. The lame hay ride was 15 minutes of choking on dust and diesel. 100% expensive, worthless waste of time. Oh wait, the highlight was a free Dum Dum lollipop. "This is a hard no next year" was the quote from the folks in line for hay ride and I concur. Never again. read more

I had a wonderful experience here. I had called over the weekend to see if they could add one person to the ride this week. Tuesday had a spot, but then Megan noticed the expected rain - even though they do ride in rain, she called everyone with reservations to see if they would prefer to switch to Monday which was usually a day off. Everyone did - I felt this was really thoughtful of Megan and A.J. to make the switch. I don't expect this would always be possible but it was nice that they tried to work this out for the guests. Then the ride itself was a two hour leisurely walk in a beautiful setting, part of Walnut Canyon Park. I totally enjoyed talking with A.J. as we rode. Learned some skills and philosophy of horsemanship. I felt we were in great hands. I would definitely come back on another trip to Flagstaff. Thanks for making my day! read more
