Sloooow service as there's only ever a single waitress frantically running around trying to handle their tables. Everyone is friendly, aside from the one waitress we had during the mornings we came. She was pretty gruff and abrasive. All in all pretty decent food, which we were grateful for before and after our outings. I don't like to knock a restaurant in a small out of the way town,but it could be so much better. I give them credit for offering a two egg, meat, hash brown and toast breakfast for $5, it's a good deal but I wouldn't mind paying a few more dollars for an upgrade. The service was okay, it could have been better or more efficient as there were only four other customers, two were just sitting at the bar drinking coffee. Not much service required there. I ordered and it seemed to take awhile to be served, there's not much of interest in the restaurant, nothing to read no newspapers etc. I idly waited anxious to eat and hit the road. When served I began by trying to butter cold toast with cold cubes of butter, something that never works. I took a bite of the toast trying to determine if it was sourdough or just stale bread. The eggs were cooked good and there were two small sausage patties and small portion of greasy hash browns. The hash browns tasted of the grill and hamburger grease, not necessarily a bad thing if you are cooking outdoors. I look forward to a good breakfast when traveling, this was edible but a very average meal with lackadaisical service. read more

I was in Pioche on a day trip for work and needed to grab a quick bite and this place fit the bill. It's a decent little small town cafe. It's not spectacular, but the waitress was pleasant, the food was served quickly even with a full dining room, and the overall price was good (about $10 for lunch and an iced tea). I had the sourdough bacon burger, which is a generous hand patted beef patty with melted cheese and thick crispy bacon served on sliced/grilled sourdough bread. The French fries were shoestring style served hot & crispy. They were sort of bland, but better than nasty over salted. Just add salt and pepper to your liking. If I find myself in Pioche again, I'd definitely stop here for lunch or dinner. read more

Service was fast and good, food was hot and made to order, coffee and water refills were plentiful. I am vegan, and they were able to make me a plate with sauteed vegetables over hash browns with sourdough toast. I was quite happy with my meal. I was with my family and everyone had a good, solid breakfast. We will go again next time we are in town. read more

If you are visiting Pioche and get the munchies, this is really about the only choice for a meal. Fortunately, the food is very good and the service is great. I've eaten here several times on trips to the Ely, or just exploring the Pioche-Caliente area. I think the breakfast menu at Silver Café is excellent - some of the best omlet's I've ever had. We had a large group in for dinner over Labor Day weekend and the staff was friendly and service was very fast. Burgers were great and portions were generous. There is a small store attached to the restaurant with an odd (creepy?) collection of swords, dolls and other knick-knacks. The store itself is worth checking out just to see the collection of strange things. read more

Stopped by for lunch on the way from Vegas to Great Basin National Park. There are not really a whole lot of options, and this place is actually a detour off the 93, but Pioche is a worthwhile detour to take. Upon walking in, my wife and I were greeted and told to pick a table. The gal who served us was super friendly. We browsed the menu and our food was ready super quick. BTW, Mozzarella Sticks should be served with marinara sauce!! No problem, after asking, she brought us some pizza sauce, which was quite tasty and made me wish I ordered the pizza! My wife ordered one of the burgers and she was satisfied. I ordered Wings and they were tasty and crispy. We did not have high expectations so the food and speedy friendly service was a pleasant surprise. We didn't really stick around to see the "gift shop", as we were in a hurry. I can however, see us coming back anytime we happen to be back in the middle of no-where. This is definitely not the kind of place we can eat back home in Las Vegas, but that is part of the charm. read more

Stopped in for breakfast recently. It took over an hour to get our breakfast. I understand sometimes it can get busy, but an hour for eggs and french toast!! This small town cafe is the way to go when you're looking for a cozy cook. Heard great things from friends and reviews of local Dan and had the opportunity to have a chat with him a few weeks back. I straight up had a top 5 pulled pork sandwich of all time in this joint. It ain't glam decor, it's small town sheik, the wait times can get longish around the lunch rush, there's often only one server busting tail to get it all in and out of the kitchen, but these folks know how to sling the good stuff. Get a pork sammy with slaw and a basket of onion rings and pour that fantastic slaw right in there and pound that goodness with the slaw blood running down your forearm. It's not just small town good, this would out class just another most anything in a big annoying city. This old cafe is located north of Las Vegas. They have new overs this year, they have done a pretty dang good job of doing it right! Ordered a Burger and some fries. They were very good! They deserve a five stars! The burgers weren't burnt or dry, It wasn't to greasy either! perfect, the fries are fresh, and nothing is frozen, The employees there were just great! Very friendly, the old owners were strange. They got rid of all the creepy dolls and swords. Thankfully. The old reviews here might not be as helpful, they have a whole new staff, Very friendly! Pretty good. Standard diner fare. I had a cheeseburger and 2 people in my group had their specialty which was a deep fried bean and cheese burrito with chili and cheese on top. I was told it was good. It looked amazing. If I was ever back in town, I would eat there again. read more

Good food. Not great but good. We ordered the country fried steak and that was good and crispy. Gravy could of been package mix but I don't mind it. The side salad was shredded lettuce and good ranch. They didn't have baked potatoes so we got mashed and that was very very soft. Almost soupy with the gravy. French dip was good. Bread was the best part and the au jus was salty but it got the job done. Cole slaw was good. More cabbage than mayo or vinegar but that's fine by me. They were out of pie and every other dessert except ice cream. Service I wouldn't say was friendly but we got the order to go and i was there for a total of 15 minutes waiting so I would say fairly fast. I'd probably stop here again since there isn't a lot of options here to eat in the evening time. read more

My husband and I were passing through town and stopped here for some lunch. When we first walked in, I was a little nervous. There is an eclectic selection of of items for sale, in additional the food. Everything from kids toys, to samurai swords and 2ft high dolls. I just didn't know what to make of all that. Anyway... We were greeted by friendly waitstaff, which is always encouraging. My husband got a bacon cheese burger and house made coleslaw. I got hot and sweet chicken fingers (strips) and sweet potato fries. I am happy to report that we were both very pleased with the quality and flavor of our food. The burger was everything a traditional burger should be, and the slaw was on point. I was VERY happy I tried the chicken strips. They were your standard chicken strips (but they were cooked very well, juicy on the inside, crispy outside) but what really made them great was they were coated in sweet chili sauce!!!! After kicking myself for not thinking of doing this before at home, I dug into a really good basket of food. Well done to the gal that was cooking, she did a great job! On the down side - I really could have done without all the non-food items for sale in the dining portion of the building (it has a gift shop attached to it). All that stuff spilling into the eating area took away from the "old diner" feel of the place and made the establishment look cluttered and less professional and somewhat unclean. read more

My darling Patty and I landed in this quaint town of Pioche about 7:00am on a Saturday. We are traveling across country together on a quest to celebrate our 50th anniversary. We found this cafe with a downtown feel, and decided to stop and have breakfast before continuing on our journey. The food was divine. The company, too. Met with some locals who were incredibly kind. One so much as paid for our meal ticket after telling us stories of this old miners town called Pioche, his name was Danny. He had on a grey t shirt with a red cougar symbol, a ball cap, and had dusty red facial scruff. Really an outstanding, kind man. We thank him for his generosity and the silver cafe for their wonderful staff, food, and locals they bring in. Makes for one beautiful memory and journey. I recommend this cafe a million times! If you want delicious food, great service, and a very welcoming environment, this is your place! read more

If you're eating in Pioche you're likely eating at the Cafe! We enjoyed dinner and breakfast here and were pleased with the food and excellent service. Our breakfast waitress Ashley was also the hostess and cashier and still kept coffee cups full and orders coming out smoothly with a smile for six tables of hungry folks -- impressive!
