    The owner.

I parked in the hitching post parking lot briefly during non business hours. I got out of my car and the lady in the picture began to yell at me. She asked me if I was stupid and if I could read. She told me there was a sign that I couldn't park in her parking lot. After much more yelling I moved my car. When I took a picture of her for the review she marched over again and started yelling that if I posted any review about her that she would sue me for defamation of character. I have been to the hitching post before and it has great pizza but I will never support such terrible behavior from the owner.

I can't believe that it took us so long to try this place out. I had never heard anything good about them when I worked in town so would usually get Sparkys, which is ok but no dine in or beer there. The restaurant we were going to had closed early so when looking for another place my hubby saw their salad bar sign. We love salad bars. Unfortunately covid has shut that down but we decided to stay and I'm so glad we did! It's perfect pizza for us. Thin, crispy with the right amount of gooey, excellent toppings and the crust is garlicky. Yummy! The employees were very nice and when the bartender brought us the beer it was Tony! One of our favorite people!! The next time we went we sat in the cozy bar and Tony wasn't there but the young man bartender was super nice and attentive. It's our new go to pizza place. Can't wait until they open the salad bar!

    Perfect company, perfect pizza

Fun place to go with friends and family. They have good pizza and the best (only) gyros in town. The drinks are good too.

We loved the quirky decor showcasing the local history of this establishment over the years including vintage photos and letters, and of course the big ivy covered bear statue right out front. The star of this show however was the pizza. Thin, handmade crust with yummy toppings, also cold beer with frosty mugs, bottomless root beers, tasty and appetizers. This is exactly what the travel doctor ordered after a long day on the road. Everything hit the spot!

I am writing this current review as a warning to anyone that may think this restaurant is the same as their memories of just a few years. We entered the parking lot to find garbage, broken down cars, overgrown, weeds, and plants. We entered the restaurant to find three tables piled with 30 dishes. The table that was open that we sat at was sticky and dirty. As you can guess we decided it wasn't safe to eat there. On our way out there was a homeless individual standing just inside the door that I can best describe as washing himself with a cup of water. I saw no employee coming in nor leaving. The case is behind the checkout counter containing pop and what have you were nearly empty. Save yourself a trip. Before heading out, I did check Yelp to see if they were still in business. A few views on Yelp were from the past. It is so unfortunate that these owners let this once nice little pizzeria go to. H _ _ L. I posted one star by mistake and I can't remove it. It deserves no stars. It should be out of business.

Great service, great drinks, and the best pizza I've had in decades!…read more The beers Backwoods makes are all delicious and smooth-drinking. The service staff was all exceptional. But the pizza! Off the charts!, FULL REVIEW of all Services: If anyone who enjoys hiking, river fishing, or just a general outdoor-focused vacation wants a good, simple getaway with their spouse/loved one, check out the Backwoods brand in Carson, Washington (just north-northeast of Bridge of the Gods/Cascades Locks). Backwoods Cabins offers a really great overnight stay option. The 8 cabins there are all basic "two-room" designs (bedroom and attached bathroom, and a living room / mini-kitchen room). The cabins sport king-sized beds, a gas fireplace and outdoor fire, a mini kitchen with refrigerator/freezer and microwave (no stove/range). I think 3 of the 8 cabins welcome dogs. The Backwoods brand also owns Backwoods Brewery, which is just across the road from the cabin property. They have great microbrew beers (from light lagers to GREAT stouts!). The brewery also has a smokehouse, with fantastic smoked brisket, pulled pork, and house-made sausage/brats. But even better, the Backwoods Brewery offers the BEST PIZZA I've had in decades. The pizza dough is a perfect balance of flavor and texture. It's not too thin and not too thick. The crust is chewy in the middle, with a great crusty edge and base. The red sauce (they also have a white sauce we didn't try) is thick and rich, with a few tomato chunks. It's got a slight spicy bite with a sweet finish. They also have some unique house pizzas. We tried the Whistle Punk - Red sauce, bacon, smoked brisket, peppadew peppers, sweet onions, fresh mozzarella rounds - and the Pepperoni Express - Red sauce, pepperoni, mushrooms, tomatoes, banana peppers, smoked mozzarella. Both were outstanding. I'd go so far as to say both Donna and I deemed these the best pizzas we've had in 35+ years (noting that our first date was at a pizza joint in Fife we both thought was the best-ever pizza). If you stay in the Backwoods Cabins, you get two coupons for free drinks at the brewery (beer/wine/cider/cocktails) as well as an assortment of snacks for your hiking adventures, and a full S'mores kit to use over the gas fire pit. And if you are in a dog-friendly cabin, you get complimentary treats, and water/food bowls for your canines.

Gluten free review:…read more Came here after a hike because I believe in balance, climb a hill, eat a pizza. Thrilled they had gluten-free options. Tried the Tree Hugger 10" GF pizza and it was genuinely tasty. The crust? So good. The staff? Kind. The price? About $20, which felt a little "ouch," but the pizza did not, and that's what matters. The place was fun and great ambiance. Take a fun trip and go try this place out.
