Great optometrist! The only bummer is they're only open 4 days a week. Dr. Hitomi is thorough, knowledgeable, and spends time with each patient without rushing. While I waited for my husband to have his eyes checked, I watched each person who came in the door receive great service. His small staff is so friendly and helpful, and you get the feeling they actually care for their customers. Being somewhat a perfectionist myself, I can spot a fellow perfectionist in Dr. Hitomi. Dr. Hitomi was thorough, giving me a vision exam, then dilating my eyes. As I was waiting the 15 or so minutes, Dr. Hitomi gave me some magazines to read. They were not at all pushy with selling eyeglasses, which was a good thing. This was my first visit to Dr. Hitomi's office. I read good Yelp reviews for this office and decided to go for an eye exam. When my boyfriend and I went into the office, there was no greeting by the receptionist (Maria). After I filled out the paperwork and did a brief eye exam, I met with Dr. Hitomi. Dr. Hitomi is a nice optometrist and took the time to exam my eyes carefully. He was patient and professional. The reason why I gave this place 2 stars is the poor customer service that the receptionist provided. After my eye exam with Dr. Hitomi, I could not decide which glasses suited me. I asked the receptionist to help me find the best glasses that suite me. However, she just showed me one area of glasses. The fit was comfortable, but the style did not suit me at all. I told her that the prices did not matter to me as long the glasses fit and the style suites me. I was unhappy and very dissatisfied that she did not help me further. Although the office was not busy that day, I felt the receptionist was unattentive. After 10 minutes of looking for glasses, I could not decide which glasses suited me. I told the receptionist that I wanted to think it over and if I may come by anytime to choose the glasses again. She did not even bother to look at me and replied, "Yes, you can come by." She gave my prescription, but I could not read Dr. Hitomi's handwriting clearly. I asked the receptionist for clarity and if the number that Dr. Hitomi wrote was correct. She looked very briefly at my prescription and looked down. She just said, "Yes." I asked her again, but she kept looking down and just replied the same answer. She did not even bother looking at me or acknowledging me. I tried to be polite and thanked her anyway. I did not understand why she did not ask Dr. Hitomi to clarify the prescription number for me. As my boyfriend and I were leaving, she did not even bother thanking us for coming by. ***Normally, when I visit any doctor's office, the receptionists are very warm and welcoming. The receptionists are professional and nice. They encourage​ me to ask any questions. At​ the end of my visit, they would thank me for coming by and to come again soon.*** I felt this was one of the worst receptionist (customer service) experience I ever experienced.
