I came with 2 specific problems. Having already pulled codes, I knew exactly what needed to be…read moredone. I requested 6 spark plugs and 6 plug wires be replaced. Also, an oil leak had been previously diagnosed as a valve cover leak, so I requested that both valve cover gaskets be replaced. Seeing that they had an alignment rack, I also requested a front end alignment. I was told I had to authorize $240. To get started. Assuming this fee would be applied to any work done, I OKed it and they got started. Later that day I got an estimate that was very close to $6,600.! And get this, the estimate did not even include the valve cover gasket replacement AND including an automatic transmission service for $485. The only problem is MY VEHICLE IS A MANUAL TRANSMISSION!! They were obviously just checking every service that was programmed in their computer. I declined all repairs as I have an aversion to being bent over. I was still charged the $240. To cover them writing this bloated estimate. I would strongly suggest that you go elsewhere. unless you like getting bent over, thats cool. I don't judge.

When I went in to the shop it looked like they have a thriving business going on so everyone must like their service with a smile. I wasn't familiar with any mechanics in the area since I just recently moved back here after loving in Eagle and Nose the last few years. I paid more than I would have liked to but Inflation had caused everything to go up. I'm sure they are inline with the industry standard for the cost of their work. Found a nail in my wife's driver side rear tire this morning around 9, a slow leak at 26 psi for a 32 psi tire. Called around and found a few places that could do the repair today. Two were in Star, and one of them wouldn't be able to repair the tire until 3 or 4 pm. The guy at Star Tire said I could bring the car over right away and they could take care of me. We dropped the car before 10 am. The gentleman said the car should be ready around 11:30 am. That was fine with us, as we had the other car. We were told that we would be called when the car was ready. We had not received a call by 2 pm and we were out doing an errand so we dropped by. The same gentleman told me that they had tried two prior repairs of the tire, but leaking persisted. They were on their third try. I've never had a flat take three attempts to repair. We were told the car would be ready shortly. We decided to wait in the car. The repair was completed within about 10 minutes, we paid, and were preparing to leave. Dan, who I believe is the owner, told us to check and make sure that the key was in the car. It wasn't. Went back in and had to wait another 5 minutes because they didn't know where the key was. It was eventually found and we were on our way. 3 hours after we were told the car would be ready. I appreciate that they were able to take care of my car today. Everyone is nice here, and they seem to do a good business. As I said, they are well reviewed. We just moved to Star in June and I am looking for an auto shop to take care of the maintenance and repair of both our vehicles. Unfortunately, after this experience with ST&A, I'll be looking elsewhere.

I called Modern Auto Service and Kevin (who comely and confidently said he would take care of my daughter) sent a tow truck, had a loaner car ready for her and was prepared to work on her car first thing the next morning get her on her way. The tow truck was very quick and she arrived at their shop 30 minutes after closing. One of their mechanics stayed late, found the problem quickly (spark plug wire was loose) and sent her on her way with no charge other than the tow.
