I really wanted to like this place. I think it has been in Star a long time and is generally well reviewed. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. Found a nail in my wife's driver side rear tire this morning around 9, a slow leak at 26 psi for a 32 psi tire. Called around and found a few places that could do the repair today. Two were in Star, and one of them wouldn't be able to repair the tire until 3 or 4 pm. The guy at Star Tire said I could bring the car over right away and they could take care of me. We dropped the car before 10 am. The gentleman said the car should be ready around 11:30 am. That was fine with us, as we had the other car. We were told that we would be called when the car was ready. We had not received a call by 2 pm and we were out doing an errand so we dropped by. The same gentleman told me that they had tried two prior repairs of the tire, but leaking persisted. They were on their third try. I've never had a flat take three attempts to repair. We were told the car would be ready shortly. We decided to wait in the car. The repair was completed within about 10 minutes, we paid, and were preparing to leave. Dan, who I believe is the owner, told us to check and make sure that the key was in the car. It wasn't. Went back in and had to wait another 5 minutes because they didn't know where the key was. It was eventually found and we were on our way. 3 hours after we were told the car would be ready. I appreciate that they were able to take care of my car today. Everyone is nice here, and they seem to do a good business. As I said, they are well reviewed. We just moved to Star in June and I am looking for an auto shop to take care of the maintenance and repair of both our vehicles. Unfortunately, after this experience with ST&A, I'll be looking elsewhere. read more

Dan and Justin are your guys. These 2 took care of me in a pinch when I needed wheel bearings pressed on my rear axle. They took care of me and didn't charge me out the ass. Listen to this! I'm traveling from Missouri to Portland Oregon. Stayed the night in Star with my cousin. As we're packing up my car, my cousins husband said "You've got a major problem." I look. There's a huge bolt in my tire. It didn't appear to have been punctured. None of my idiot lights came on. I know they work because I had a flat 2 weeks prior to leaving Missouri. ALL the lights lit up! My cousins husband said I needed to go to Star Tire. I did. The bolt had started leaking air by the time I'd got there. Less than a mile away. They took it in try and patch it. Pretty soon the manager came and said the tech thinks I need to buy lottery tickets. I smiled so much. And said that's not luck guys! That's God's angels watching over me! They didn't even charge me. They even replaced our other vehicle's brake light bulb at no charge . Something he definitely did not have to do . Don't buy used tires here. I bought them. $200. Good deal? Not really, and then found they had dry rot. One just shredded on me while driving. Luckily I was going slowly. I'm an older single woman and had to rely on their word, which was the tires were "safe and good." Hard lesson learned. read more

Good small town shop. I was just coming in to get my tires balanced. They took care of me good prices compared to the big stores. And most importantly they showed me what they were doing which is worth a lot to me. I would be willing to pay more than the big shops just so they could teach me. But they taught me what they were doing and were cheaper and were willing to "talk shop". Not sure if it could get any better. read more

GREAT PRICES AND EXCELLENT SERVICE!!! This is the best and most honest place you can come to! When I had a flat tire, Al fixed it for free or if I had to replace a tire - I got a great price on replacing it! When I needed a ride home or a ride back to their business - I got that service too! I don't live in Star anymore and I'm still going to them for all my service and repair needs. There is nothing lacking in service! Very happy with the service here. Small town tire repair that has the customer interest at heart. Had a puncture on a large SUV tire that Les Schwab, Commercial Tire, and Firestone said required a new tire ($400). Star Tire applied a patch that held perfectly ($20). Now my wife has a flat on a worn out set of tires on her car. Les Schwab wants $640 for three new tires while Star is doing this for about $400. Couldn't be more pleased with their assistance. read more
