Great customer service and when there's an issue and you still get great service that's the biggest proof. I came in to fix a flat and wanted to know how much it would cost if I added the tire rotation. They quoted me to fix the flat for free and charge for the rotation and calibrating the sensors to new tire positions. Great deal and I accepted. The problem came when they came back to tell me they were done with the rotation but I needed a new tire. I'm in a money crunch this week and I can't buy the new tire. Actually I didn't want to buy just one new tire. I prefer 2 new ones because the tires have about half the wear of new. I can't afford 2 new tires. I'll need to buy a used tire with 6/32 tread and have it mounted and rotated in with these. But unfortunately they hadn't checked the tire to be sure it was good for a flat repair first. That put me in a jam. I came in for a flat repair and was getting a deal which is why I chose to rotate tires as well. Now there's no deal. Everything has changed. I spoke to a manager and he was very gracious. Both the young men actually were very professional and I was quite impressed. Lately it seems if there's any issue no matter what business it is, the employees get nasty. Even if I'm very cool about it, they're very defensive and even aggressive post Covid. Customer service is so different post Covid. But not these guys. I think the manager was Lonnie and I wish I could remember the other young man's name. He wore glasses. I appreciate these guys understanding my disappointment and they offered to waive the charges on the rotation and just put my spare back on. They also put plastic bags on the rim and tire so they wouldn't get the interior of my vehicle dirty. That was totally unexpected since I put the tire into the back without a cover to begin with. 5 stars for this tire shop. They are all so nice and their prices are very reasonable. We will not go back here. Our previous car took 6 mths and multiple trips and lots of wasted money to get fixed. Nobody seemed to know what they were doing. So today my husband got an oil change and they told him his batteries were going bad. He had purchased them here so he came back here to have them checked. They charged him $117 for to check the batteries and then said they were fine. This is an outrageous amount. read more

I took my car in for an OIl leak. They charged me over $100 to check it out and said my power steering rack was leaking, and quoted me $1800 for the repair. Since I didn't have time to do it myself, and I though I could for about $500, I told them to go ahead with the work. A few days later I noticed oil leaking from the same place under the car, but thought it might be residual oil. A few weeks later the same leak showed up again, only it was leaking badly this time -and I was out of town. I took it to a local shop who identified the problem as a leaking oil filter. He changed it, for a reasonable price I might add, and there have been no more oil leaks. I'm pretty sure now that the leak I took the car to United Muffler was the oil filter and that I did not need a new power steering rack. Can you say RIP OFF? United Muffler charges premium rates and they try to upsell you with other maintenance and repairs that you don't need. They've done work for me in the past and although i thought the were a little pricey, the work was okay. Now I think I can't trust them and they will never work on any of my vehicles again. read more

For starters the lady there is rude, I've gone multiple times. The lady was getting my paper ready and didn't know how to talk on a phone and get me my paper after I paid. Also when I was paying she was so rude and not patient. Secondly they changed my appointment, which I was okay with. Had my car towed the day of my new appointment and they STILL couldn't "see" my car yet to look at it. Then I went in the next day and asked if they could get it done cause I had to go out of town and my Fiancé needed a car. I was next in line and they took 6 hours to finally get to my car. Made a giant list of "everything that's wrong" like usual. And come to find out through second opinion most of the problems were not issues at all and they were just trying to money grab DONT EVER TAKE UR CAR TO THEM!!! read more

We were traveling through the area with our three dogs when the alternator on our RV started having problems. We were headed to a remote area of Idaho. We didn't want to get stranded in the woods, so we had to pick a repair shop to check on the alternator issue. I called an explained our problem to Natalie the office manager. She told me to stop by and they would take care of us. They did exactly what they said they would. It was one of the best experiences I've ever had with a garage. Fastest emissions test ever. Price is great and the gal was very friendly. Literally took 3 minutes start to finish. HIGHLY recommended.

We were super disappointed with them. My husband called on a Monday and set up an appointment for fixing some wiring for a trailer hookup. They assured him that they have an expert in that area and that they would we would be able to drop the car off in the morning and pick it up after work. Great. He took it in two days later and the guy had never made the appointment on paper but just said they would get it in that day. Ugh. My husband called periodically throughout the day and was told they hadn't gotten to it yet. At 2:00 he called and was told the same thing but that they would start on it right then and they'd call back if they thought it would take more than an hour. They didn't call back. My husband called back in less than an hour and they told him they didn't know the problem and he'd have to leave it over night. That was unacceptable for our situation so my husband said we'd just pick it up. He got a ride over there and was told he owed them $45. But they hadn't fixed it. They hadn't diagnosed it. They hadn't done anything they agreed to do. My husband argued with this but they wouldn't give him the keys. By the way, it's illegal to keep a car hostage for payment if no repairs are made. And they can't charge a diagnostic fee when they didn't diagnose it! The guy kept increasing the amount of time he said they spent working on it. It had to have been under and hour due to the times my husband called but when i went down there they now said it was 1 1/2 hours of labor. Doesn't matter. They shouldn't charge when they don't help. I've been to urgent care centers where they spend their valuable doctor time on me but can't help so send me away without charge. These guys don't do business well. Go anywhere else! We ended up paying the money to get our vehicle back (which they had hidden in a garage) though we should have called the police over there illegal behavior. read more

traveling from Oregon to a small town in Idaho, i noticed some issues with my car. i diagnosed it as the spark plugs and was unable to get the bolt off to fix it myself. Sam at United Muffler took my phone call and had me come in right away. He took my information and changed the spark plugs as soon as i got there, knowing i had somewhere to be. He was friendly and honest. I highly recommend United Muffler for their quality of service, their speed (without losing quality!), and their honesty. side note: there is a small waiting room with toys for kids because they know their community well. great company, great service, great employees. read more

We were traveling from our home in N. Idaho to Scottsdale AZ to visit relatives. Coming down Whitebird (for you Idahoans) the noise level in the cab of our RV went waaaaaay up. On a Sunday. In the rain. It got louder--and smellier. A quick roadside (did I say in the rain?) inspection suggested a catastrophic exhaust system failure somewhere near the header/pipe junction. We limped into Caldwell deafened and dizzy. We happened to drive past their shop and agreed that we'd be back there at zero dark thirty the next morning. We arrived at 7AM (wanted them to know we were serious). Walked in as soon as the "Open" sign lit up and were greeted by a friendly and very helpful staff. The "donut" was replaced and we were on our way by 9:00 at a VERY reasonable cost. Wow. I'd figured at least half a day, maybe two days. These guys are great. They're friendly, fast, good and recommend EXCELLENT restaurants. If you live in Caldwell, go there. If you're passing through and have a problem, well, GO THERE. Six stars. read more
