I usually come here to watch a Playoff game or sporting event which i appreciate them playing the commentary and not random top 40 music which throw you off from the viewing experience. Food is really good, not just Bar food it's got some good options for actual dinner. Wings are great, Burgers are well cooked to order, Apps are solid. Steak Sandwich is really good. Steak Salad and actual entree orders are really good. Solid Beer selection for those that love Beer options on top of the regular domestic brands. Staff is very friendly and attentive. The only slight knock is the bathrooms which needs an extra space or stall because it gets cramped at times (its clean but in busy times it can be cramped). It was my second time here and I honestly only went cause my friend was craving a burger and she has gone here a couple of times. The first time she brought me I definitely didn't like it. Only because my friend ordered nachos with ground beef & it was gross! My second time I decided to order their grilled chicken hero with avocado and well done bacon with their HK sauce on the side along with a cup of mayo and chipotle mayo with truffle fries. I really enjoyed their grilled chicken on a hero! The Hk sauce had too much of a kick for my tastebuds so that's why I asked for other sauces just incase. The truffle fries were great! We ordered steak nachos we shared which were delicious, hard shell tacos on Taco Tuesday which were also delicious, and margaritas drinks which were excellent. All were reasonably priced. I really used to love this place but it has fallen off. We just went on a Saturday night, tried to order some wings to go while having a drink at the bar....where do I start? First of all it seems that all of their mix drinks come in these pre made pouches, and are overly sweet and taste cheep, kind of what you would expect at a beach bar. Second, the bartenders are the most unbothered people I have seen, too busy eating their meals and taking shots to actually take a food order. Sadly after having a drink each, my husband and I left. No one bothered to check on us for 30-45 minutes. We just wanted to order wings to go, but we just left, upset, hungry and disappointed. After going thru many ideas and restaurants i got a wing craving. I had mentioned Buffalo wild wings but when she said " you want wings from there " I instantly said " NO! When we got inside it kinda looks like a sport bar, i'm Unsure if thats the whole idea of it- like i wrote previously, we were starving lol we didnt do our research on the restaurant itself we did research on the food alone ( you know the important part lol). It was pretty empty due to us going on a late Monday. They were able to attend and serve us pretty quickly. First we started with some chips and Guac and Boyyyy, Oh Boy, let me tell you guys something i love avocado but not everyone makes popping Guac, this Guac right here had me like " damn we finised it already." The taste was on point, the portion of vegetables inside the Guac was just right ( which i loved because some people just over do it). I had the wings which let me tell ya 10/10 legit. They were crispy and flavorful like they said it would be and i had bbq sauce. My friend had some mofongitos she said it was a 7/10 - she said they were good but was eating up my chicken wings ( she lucky i love her lol). The friessssssss!!! YUM!!! I'm a fan of fries so if u got poppin fries ugh i love your restaurant already. Overall, is a nice chill ambiance where u can just eat and talk yo shit with friends, you can even go and eat alone watch some T.V. I had a business meeting at HK yesterday and I just love that spot. The staff always makes you feel at home. You are never rushed. And the food is just plain yummy. There are large tv's throughout the space with a game going or good music playing. You can spend hours there and never feel like they want you to leave to turn the table. Monday date night!!! This is my second time coming here first experience was great but my second experience was even greater!! We decided to sit at the bar we ordered wings and lobster Mac and cheese. I got 10 naked wings with garlic Parmesan sauce and mango habanero sauce and my my boyfriend ordered teriyaki and Caribbean jerk sauce. I had lots of naked wings but here they actually season the naked wings which I like since a lot of restaurants don't season their wings. And with the added sauce it's even better. My boyfriend says his wings were very good as well. This place can be so amazing, the food is good and the space is really nice. Sadly, their staff is never great. The service staff is slow, forgetful and don't really seem to care. My husband and I stopped coming and we decided to try again almost a year later and the service is still awful. The place was not crowded at all, the waitress seemed new and she was not on point. They need to train their wait staff better or get someone who actually has waited tables before and enjoys the job. Once more, we will not be coming back here for possibly another year. HK is a nice bar addition on the E. Tremont Ave. strip in Throggs Neck, and looks like it's been on the up since they opened for good reason. I don't know what was here before HK's take over- but this certainly looks like it's been poshed-up. It's a good looking bar with (faux?) brick walls. It's also fresh. It's airy and spacious with lots of seating and almost a horseshoe type bar in the middle of HK. Service was super chill when I placed a pick up order to have at my Mom's house for a quick lunch break. I'm not sure how much of their supply is top-quality and if they can whip up real tip-top cocktails. But their menu has a nice selection though like sandwiches+burgers, salads, appetizers, entrees and other bar food. I didn't notice a Veggie Burger listed on their menu but the guy jumped in quick to tell me they did! I didn't scope the inside of my Mom's Chicken+Avo.+bacon sandwich- but she liked it. Whatever it is, there's something about HK- and it says a lot to me when an eatery on E. Tremont Ave. carries a Veggie Burger. Oh and the Truffle Fries? They were so damn good! read more

HK caught my eye sometime last year while driving down East Tremont Ave. Its modern, brick facade and large floor-to-ceiling windows in the front is not typical of businesses in this area of the Bronx, so I was instantly intrigued. Even though I heard mixed things from my friends, I wanted to experience it for myself. One of my brothers and I were looking for lunch today so I thought it was a good opportunity to check it out. The aesthetics of HK is very modern and trendy. Walking in there's a large, round bar in the center and a combination of high-tops and regular tables around it. It has that industrial look to it - they're advertising themselves as a draft house so that kind of fits. We were there on a Sunday around 2pm, as such they were offering brunch. I'm not sure what it included but I saw something in the ballpark of $34.95 which I wasn't looking to spend and thought I could do better off the traditional menu; we were looking for lunch anyway so it worked out. There was a DJ blasting music (I assume because of brunch) - lots of old stuff from the late 90s/early 2000s; I was instantly brought back to middle school dances. Because we opted out of brunch, we were given a bar menu which only had some finger foods, a burger, and a sandwich. I know there's a more expansive menu since I've seen it online but there was enough for us on this menu so we just went with it. The menu had typical pub food - we both eyed the grilled chicken sandwich and decided to go with that. The sandwich was pretty good - in addition to the chicken there was lettuce, avocado, cheese, and an aioli on a club roll. The sandwich was pretty good - they were generous on the bacon which I appreciated, but the chicken breast was way too thin. The sandwich came with fries which were nice and crispy. Our server was super nice and the food came out at a good pace, and overall I enjoyed experience at HK. The restaurant lands at a 3.5 for me, but I'm rounding down because I didn't order off their full menu or try their beer. I was also a little surprised to see the place close to empty for brunch service since it's a pretty competitive meal these days. In any case, I didn't find any outstanding qualities that sets HK apart from its competitors, but I'll need to return before making a final assessment. read more

I was driving around looking to try a new place for dinner. When we drove by this place you can smell the food because of the open air seating. I quickly made a u-turn because I was determined to try the food. We was not disappointed, we ordered the mango habernero wings with home made fries and the burger. The wings were well seasoned and really good. The burger taste very fresh and juicy. We also had the red sangria which wasnt too sweet, it was more on the dry side. The beer selection was decent and they had the standard beers on tap nothing out of the norm. The layout was really cool and they had several flat screen televisions throughout the restaurant. Let me tell you how impressed I was with HK burger house. Right from the beginning, we were greeted right away and seated. Within minutes our server Mike came He gave us a break down. Since it was our first time there I wanted to know more about the burgers and he was very thorough. I haven't had a burger in forever. when he came over with theses two wooden trays and our food I was amazed but I was more amazed when I sunk my teeth into the most delicious burger I have ever tried. So I've been here pre-covid and recently, so I'll be reviewing my recent experience. Came on a Saturday night with group of friends and already knew there was going to be a wait- no biggie. It was only a 20 minute wait and we got seated on the high chairs. The food is your typical sports bar food, greasy and filling. The drinks were amazing and made everyone have a good time. The food took long to come out, but we didn't mind as we were busy chatting. The waiter was nice, but slow. Don't know if it was a fault of his own or beyond his control. The taste was okay but they definitely needed more sauce. I actually ordered 2 orders of wings & they both were the same... dry... I also ordered the chicken mini monfongo & they were also really dry. The chicken was dry & there wasn't enough pico on them. I had to squeeze lemon on the to give them a better flavor.
