The restaurant is such a cute little vibe. It gets super packed very fast but we only waited like 20 minutes on the waitlist which isn't bad. The blonde hostess was very sweet and accommodating. We ordered the new lychee soft serve and the passion fruit morir soñando soft serve. I loved the passion fruit one cause it was sweeter while the lychee one's alcohol was very potent. The only down thing was, was that the service wasn't the best but it could have been because it was very busy. I will def come here again! I'm hoping that they make the morir soñando soft service permanent. I ordered the rice bowl and my friend had gotten her birria tacos. The rice bowl is huge!! Let me start with the customer service, most of the employees here are very young, they all have attitudes, and god forbid you ask them for anything, they get extra nasty. Second, whenever I ask for extra sauces, crema on the side, pico de gallo, and PAY FOR IT, none of the items I paid for are in my order. I have had delivery ordera, pick orders where I ask the employees is my extra sauce in the bag and they flat out lie.When I het home nothing is in my bag . Last thing, When Im eating at a place and the employees all smell like they smoked a blunt, it makes me lose my appetite. The food was ok! The Birria was a little too salty, the rice was bland, I've had better Mexican food. I think everyone comes for the margaritas, they were good, but it's sweet. The desserts were ok but the messed up my order, it says churro bites with strawberries, which were not there. The ambience is a little too loud. Hopefully it gets better. read more

I don't write many reviews as I sit eating the food I'm reviewing about. Colima Takes the show offering two dollar tacos on Tuesdays. I am an avid fan of Michelada's ... I've had them all over the world, but the way they offered a white claw Michelada I had to try what the hype was about. Beer gets to be a lot of calories but now My trainer and my stomach is happy. Taco queso taco birria taco was crispy on the outside soft and cheesy on the inside with so much filling you won't even need cosome (although they do offer it) Marina and Alina were fantastic servers and I'll def be back before this week ends! read more

My friend's husband had called earlier in the week to request to sit outside in the patio for my friend's birthday. However when we got there the patio was not available so we had to sit inside. It seems liked the staff was overwhelmed and underprepared for our group as they scrambled to get the table ready for us (mind you we had a reservation). There were certain items on the menu that were not available but we kept finding out as we were attempting to order them. The food was okay, definitely not the best birria out there. Surf and turf tacos were very dry, bother the shrimp and steak were over cooked, and I had to down it in lime and spices. The drinks were good, my friends frozen margarita came with a whole paleta. All an all would want to try them again as I feel they were just overwhelmed with the volume of customers and lack of staff available. read more

I found this viral tik tok about soft serve margaritas being at this establishment. I have been telling my man for a week i wanted to go. I went to the 187th location it was super packed so i decided to do TO GO. When i finally figured out what i wanted to eat i asked the guy at the counter about the soft serve margaritas and he looked like he seen a ghost. Stating yall dont serve that its literally on your IG page. I literally only mainly came for the viral drink. Was very disappointed in the false advertising because i spent alot of money on just the food yesterday. I ended up settling for a Strawberry Margarita which isnt what i had in mind at heart so very disappointed in the drink area. The shrimp tacos were flavorful and really good. The Surf and Turf Nachos were really good and we also had cilantro lime rice and extra tacos and nachos. Would appreciate if yall change your drink menu you post on your Instagram if you supposedly dont serve those style of drinks i came all the way from Hollis,Queens to 187th in the Bronx just for a viral drink and was let down. Came back and tried it a second time with a coworker came from Westchester county and the min we walked it was greeted and sat immediately. Even though we couldn't sit outside the inside was nice . The drinks were amazing and the food delicious. read more

The service was terrible. Our server Teresa, told us we had to wait 20 minutes for our soft serve drink which is what they promote the most. We put in our order appetizers and food...she says appetizers will be put in first. Within 10 minutes (probably less) we get everything at once. No problem, we're going to eat it anyway....at that point she says "do you want regular drinks, because it's going to be another 20 minutes for your other drink". Lol. I guess she got really mad when I asked if she could just cancel that drink so I can order a regular drink as it was almost 45 minutes that I was sitting waiting to have a drink. Then a bus boy comes to clean up the table and asks us if we are done with our order...we weren't even there for an hour and just wanted to have some drinks.....we felt rushed...Long story short. Food was okay. Drinks were alright. We will never be back and to Teresa who added the 18% gratuity to our check...you did that because YOU KNEW your service was trash BEING THAT YOU ONLY CAME TO OUR TABLE TWICE....but that's okay, you take that and shove it far up yours also fix your face and your attitude you work in customer service. Had a great dining experience at Colima Taqueria! From the moment we arrived, the ambiance was inviting--comfortable seating with a modern vibe. There's a main dining area, an upstairs patio with outdoor views, a bar, a projector, and even space for a DJ. Definitely a spot that can work for both casual dinners and livelier nights out. Our server Steven was excellent--attentive, friendly, and made us feel right at home. As for the food... wow! We ordered the Chicken Tostadas, Carne Asada Burrito, Chicken Taco Salad, and the standout star: the Birria Pizza. That Birria Pizza is next level--crispy, cheesy, meaty, and perfect for dipping in the flavorful sauce. Easily shareable for 2-4 people and something I'll be coming back for. Everything we ordered was fresh, tender, and packed with flavor. I didn't have any drinks this time, but my mom and friends gave them two thumbs up--I'll be sure to try one next round. Heard about this place and it happened to be taco Tuesday so why not! It was absolutely busy but they definitely seemed short staffed. There was no specials menu and we were told the entire menu was part of the taco Tuesday deal which was surprising. Then another waiter said that it's only the birria tacos and nothing else. Definitely disappointing but we ordered the birria tacos and they were very good. Ordered a couple of other things which were also good. The place felt a little cramped and people standing right over you as there waiting to pay was not the best but certainly a place to try if you like birria or anything else if you ignore the 'specials'. Ambiance is basic but nice. I think I would go back but not on a Tuesday. read more

It's my first time coming to this place and first time trying Birria tacos. The staff is super friendly, the place is nice and clean and the ambiance is great. The Birria tacos were absolutely amazing. Great flavor and well seasoned. They absolutely don't skimp on the meat portion. The beef consome is delicious. Whoever is in the back making this food knows what they are doing lol. By the time I got to my guac and chips i was too full from the Birria tacos lol. I absolutely recommend this place. read more

OMG!!! Y'all, the food here is DELISH!!!! Had dinner here in Tuesday, they have esquites, I was so hype when I saw that, I had them with tamarindo, onto the fajitas, so yummy, fresh veggies and the beans and rice, chef's kiss!! The hubs had the chorizo tacos and he said they were delish. The decor is beautiful and our server was a sweetheart, she checked on us often. The space is done very nicely. It's very bright and festive. The waitstaff were friendly and attentive. For a Tuesday, the place was packed for an early dinner. Good sign! This will be the second location for the restaurant and I can see why. I ordered birria tacos with cheese and consume, chipotle chicken flautas, and carne asada quesadilla. All the food was excellent and flavorful. One issue I did find was that the quesadilla was a bit on the greasy side. I actually had to take it out of the plate onto another plate because it was accumulated on the bottom. I ultimately decided not to knock off stars because they are pretty new and I'm sure they are working out proper training to kitchen staff. The food taste, ambiance, and service deserve the 5 stars. I will be back again. Right now they are waiting on their liquor license but are expected to have it within the next few weeks. Good Luck! read more

Updated: April 8, 2025. My son and I decided to give the restaurant another chance to taste their food. To our surprise the service and the food was mediocre. I had the $2 dollar tacos Tuesday Birria. The tacos were not that great at all. The shredded meat was not tasted, soggy, added extra cheese which paid .50 cents extra and tacos had very little cheese. We also order Elote which had no taste to it. We then order Nacho pollo asado, thinking that it would be like most Mexican restaurant's nachos, we were completely disappointed when it arrived, it was more of a salad nacho than an original Mexican nacho. See pictures below. That is why the rating was changed to a 1. Will not be returning. March 25,2025: My son and I arrived at this New Mexican Restaurant. We were not greeted but I asked can I sit anywhere and said yes. I had to asked for the menu when I sat and asked for utensils when food arrived. The young fellow who is part of the business did apologize for not having enough staff but were in the process to hire. The service and the food were great. I had the steak quesadilla and my son had the birria tacos. The food was prepared fast and we did not wait long. This is a new Mexican Restaurant in the Bronx and is family owned. Let us support this family business. Will definitely return to try their other dishes. The waitresses need to be more attentive and friendly, as a business owner it is imperative that service and friendliness be top priority to enhance the business and to ask customers if food and services is good and any suggestions for business to improve. Went here with a few friends and I must say was nit disappointed at all. The food was delicious and the drinks were excellent so definitely do happy hour. Its always great as well when you have a server who is on point, friendly and her service is great-thank you Cindy.. we plan to go back .
