The food was ok! The Birria was a little too salty, the rice was bland, I've had better Mexican food. I think everyone comes for the margaritas, they were good, but it's sweet. The desserts were ok but the messed up my order, it says churro bites with strawberries, which were not there. The ambience is a little too loud. Hopefully it gets better.

I don't write many reviews as I sit eating the food I'm reviewing about. Colima Takes the show offering two dollar tacos on Tuesdays. I am an avid fan of Michelada's ... I've had them all over the world, but the way they offered a white claw Michelada I had to try what the hype was about. Beer gets to be a lot of calories but now My trainer and my stomach is happy. Taco queso taco birria taco was crispy on the outside soft and cheesy on the inside with so much filling you won't even need cosome (although they do offer it) Marina and Alina were fantastic servers and I'll def be back before this week ends!

My friend's husband had called earlier in the week to request to sit outside in the patio for my friend's birthday. However when we got there the patio was not available so we had to sit inside. It seems liked the staff was overwhelmed and underprepared for our group as they scrambled to get the table ready for us (mind you we had a reservation). There were certain items on the menu that were not available but we kept finding out as we were attempting to order them. The food was okay, definitely not the best birria out there. Surf and turf tacos were very dry, bother the shrimp and steak were over cooked, and I had to down it in lime and spices. The drinks were good, my friends frozen margarita came with a whole paleta. All an all would want to try them again as I feel they were just overwhelmed with the volume of customers and lack of staff available.

Came back and tried it a second time with a coworker came from Westchester county and the min we walked it was greeted and sat immediately. Even though we couldn't sit outside the inside was nice . The drinks were amazing and the food delicious.

Had a great dining experience at Colima Taqueria! From the moment we arrived, the ambiance was inviting--comfortable seating with a modern vibe. There's a main dining area, an upstairs patio with outdoor views, a bar, a projector, and even space for a DJ. Definitely a spot that can work for both casual dinners and livelier nights out. Our server Steven was excellent--attentive, friendly, and made us feel right at home. As for the food... wow! We ordered the Chicken Tostadas, Carne Asada Burrito, Chicken Taco Salad, and the standout star: the Birria Pizza. That Birria Pizza is next level--crispy, cheesy, meaty, and perfect for dipping in the flavorful sauce. Easily shareable for 2-4 people and something I'll be coming back for. Everything we ordered was fresh, tender, and packed with flavor. I didn't have any drinks this time, but my mom and friends gave them two thumbs up--I'll be sure to try one next round. Definitely adding this place to my rotation. Looking forward to coming back!

The fire performances throughout the night were a fun surprise and really added to the experience. Despite some mixed reviews, I personally loved everything about this place. We were a table of 8 and drinks came out at random times despite all of us ordering together as well as the appetizers. For my meal I ordered the salmon and it was undercooked and extremely oily, so much so that the skin was soggy and just a mess. Then they try to upsell on everything, coming around the tables asking us if we wanted to pay $10 to break a plate, there was supposed to be a show and that didn't happen, overall, it was overpriced bad food, so much so, I ended up stopping at McDonald's on the way home bc there was no way I was eating that salmon. As for the vibe, everyone was dressed up as if they were going to a super fancy place. I didn't dress up because LOL, it's city island yall....

There are some dedicated parking spaces that have a three hour limit if dining. Upon arrival, I entered the inside restaurant space for Dakota's on the Grove. It was aesthetically pleasing. I should have sat inside here instead of in their outdoor space which they call The Grove at Dakota's. I was able to choose where I wanted to sit, so I chose a table near this shed where the bartender/waiter was. I noticed they were setting up for the Knicks Game 3 final and there were two large TVs and a projection screen. I overheard the waiter state that the area would be packed for the game tonight. There was also good music playing throughout. They had a large connect four, which would be nice to play. They are family friendly and had high chairs for babies and toddlers. When sitting outside they state that they have to preauthorize your card. Now getting onto the food. I was seated and provided with two menus. I immediately asked for a happy hour menu and then I waited for about 15 minutes, until I followed up with another waiter who brought out the menu for me. For the happy hour menu before I received my food I initially thought the prices were good, but upon receiving my food it was evident that the prices are off in terms of the portion size of the food. I ordered a $5 slider. I thought it would be a decent size. It was incredibly small. For the $5 price they should give at minimum 2 sliders but ideally 3. This would incentivize people to buy more. The slider was the best thing I tasted while there and I would have liked more but I couldn't justify spending another $5 when it was so tiny. The tiny slider appeared to be the portion size for a toddler. I ordered calamari which was $9. I was initially disappointed that there was such a small amount. I was even more disappointed when I tasted them. They tasted very "fishy." They absolutely needed a squeeze of lemon and fresh cracked black pepper to try and balance and mask the taste. I believe the portion size for the fries was also off for $5. The fries came in a teacup. Fries are something that people tend to order to have something to pick at while dining and it would make sense I think to provide more fries for the same price. I also could not justify getting another set of fries in a small teacup for $5. I did not like the taste of the fries. When the sparse calamari, tiny beef slider, and small teacup of fries came out, I realized I would not be full and ordered chicken wings from the happy hour menu. You have to get a minimum of 6. You cannot mix the flavors. They were out of the dockside fire sauce so I went with the garlic parm. These wings did not taste like garlic parm. The garlic parm seemed like an afterthought, which was just sprinkled on the wings at the very end. The chicken itself did not have much flavor. They did not mention providing any dipping sauce. I asked for blue cheese and I had to wait for about ten minutes and then remind another waiter that I was still waiting for my blue cheese. They were out of the mozzarella sticks. Moving onto the drinks. While I get being outside and maybe wanting to serve drinks in plastic to minimize glassware breaking, I did not enjoy being served Pinot Noir in a plastic cup or the white cranberry lemon drop in a plastic cup. Each time I was taken aback that they weren't offered in glassware. I got the $7 Pinot Noir from the happy hour menu. A regular glass of Pinot Noir is $9. I also ordered the white cranberry lemon drop which is priced at $12 and is not included on the happy hour menu. The drink came out in the same sized small plastic cup as the Pinot Noir. I think once again that glassware should be used. When ordering a lemon drop you tend to expect a chilled frosty glass with a sugar rim, and that was not what I received here. I think the sugar rim would have elevated the taste profile of the drink. All in all, I really liked the outdoor area. I would probably only return to get a canned beer in the outside section. I hope they start to carry some sour beer options. I do not see myself trying the food again, with the exception of a burger (since the burger was really good.) I did have an inquiry regarding the pre-authorization charge and the final charge that I saw on my credit card. I called and left a message and the restaurant got back to me quickly, which I really appreciated.

I was sent a reminder to confirm the reservation 2 days b4 and on the day of, the owner called to let me know there were some streets blocked off due to a Saint pattys parade. My friends and i were able to plan ahead thanks to that call and parked and walked over. My brunch reservation was for 2:15pm. Now once we came in, we were seated fast. One of my friends was about 20 mins late and they didn't give us an issue about it since the rest of us were there. They took our drink order and appetizers. My friend got there after we got our drinks and appetizers and she ordered hers and we all ordered entrees. The waitress was amazing! Kept coming to fill up my mimosa. We had shots, i felt celebrated the entire time. Owner came by and checked in on us too. The DJ was a vibe! Loved him and he kept shouting out all the birthdays in the room. There are 2 bathrooms which we didn't figure out until later because there was only a sign for 1 of the 2 bathrooms but once we figured it out, we saw the cute photo op area in the back. It's literally directly behind the DJ. The place is decorated beautifully and plenty of options for pics. Food was great, drinks were great and so were the vibes. Love the way they sing happy birthday with a whole party and bubbles. Overall great experience for a bday brunch no complaints. I will def be back for brunch and dinner for sure.
