We knew from the first day of hanging that these were amateurs. All throughout the process, J & G reassured me that all visible walls would still come out perfect and we nervously believed him. We were left with bulges, visible tape lines, a bowed wall with a screw that pops out when you push on the wall, rough areas in need of sanding everywhere, cracking. Absolutely no attention to detail. I know he had problems with some subs that he brought in. I'm not saying that the owner didn't try to salvage the job or wasn't trying to do a good job. He is an honest guy who worked hard for days to get it back. Unfortunately, the "finished" state is just not acceptable. Now we are paying for professional drywallers to come out and fix it. Some walls we might start over entirely. Cannot recommend. Update: we took out a section of wall that was too uneven to install the cabinets against and found they punctured the wastewater pipe in 2 separate places while hanging drywall.

Cedo and his team at Pro Quality CT Construction were fantastic to work with. They were helpful and honest with their work, letting me truthfully know what would be the best option to go with for both material and labor. They were also priced very reasonably for the area. When I first started talking with Cedo, he was incredibly honest and patient, even though I didn't have a full idea of the look it is that I wanted. He patiently walked me through all the questions that he needed answered to get him started, and was giving me advice on materials and building recommendations even before we agreed to work together. When it came time to be a little more detailed about the look and visual design of the bathroom, he endured all my questions to him about what would look best and function the best (and, even more importantly, was honest about what WOULD NOT have worked :) ). He kept me up to date with the progress of the project, and he and his crew worked hard, even scheduling around some truly ridiculous snowstorms. The only thing that didn't go as planned was that the project was delayed by quite some time. We had initially planned to get the project done within a month. However, due to some personal emergency that Cedo had to take care of, the project slipped for a month or so after the designated end date. There was a bit of confusion in communication at first, but at the end, Cedo more than made up for the delay by going above and beyond the agreed services (for example, he hired cleaners to make sure that the house was clean after the remodeling). Any delays in the project were more than made up for by the sheer quality of work. Cedo and crew built us a fantastic bathroom that my husband and I both love. So when it came time to remodel our downstairs bathroom, we didn't hesitate to call him again. From the start, the demolition was done with incredible care and attention to detail. Dmitriy and his team then built a walk-in shower completely from scratch -- we didn't even use a pre-made one! Their precision and craftsmanship are truly amazing. They worked hard, starting early every morning and continuing through the late afternoon -- non-stop. They kept everything clean and organized each day, never leaving a mess, and were mindful not to block walkways. Everything was completed right on schedule. I also really appreciate how Dmitriy communicates. He responds to questions quickly and clearly, which makes the whole process smooth and stress-free. We hired Jon B. Construction, owned by on Beecham, for our project of remodeling two bathrooms…read moreafter finding him on Angie's List and getting a positive response from the reference he gave us. We hired him because he told us that he always did things right and because he charges just for hours of work and did not add a contractor's fee. He also told us he would be on site every day. Only the amount charged turned out to be true. The guest bathroom was finished fairly quickly. When Jon was finished in the primary bathroom, we were excited that this project was almost done. This turned out to not be the case. Jon had to fix the drywall and re-texture the walls due to inferior work. This did not play out very well and delayed our being done with the primary bathroom by a couple weeks. When we finally thought we were done, we discovered that Jon had cut corners, done substandard work and that he had not spent the time to get it done right. The work he did was sloppy and hurried and caused a lot of rework and extra cleaning up. Definitely work not to the standards Jon had promised us. Additionally, he or his helper cracked the vanity top in the primary bathroom which meant we had to replace the vanity top, backsplash and sinks. The replacement vanity top is much inferior to the original but was all we could afford. A plumber had to be hired to unhook the plumbing so the damaged vanity top could be removed and then re-hookup the plumbing after the new vanity was installed. Replacement of the vanity top increased the cost of the project 25%!. Looking back, we realized that Jon spent more than twice the time in the smaller guest bathroom than in the primary bathroom which is a much larger space. He cut corners so he could finish on time. And the last week he was gone most of that time, leaving his inexperienced helper to finish the work. We would never hire him again and we would never recommend hiring Jon Beechan of Jon B. Construction to anyone.

Also, several siding boards replaced, window calking done, and new shower drain installed. We are thrilled with his execution of the stairs which look very artistic and fit in with the setting. The carpet install was mediocre with strings still hanging out around the edges. I provided clear tile choices and dimensions which were done incorrectly in one bathroom and Ed refused to take ownership of the mistakes. I repeatedly asked for proper dust barriers due to asthma and only the painters provided them. The time-line was slow and I rarely got workers unless I called to complain. Ed periodically checked on the site, but was never on site to direct work. The final tally was twice the amount bid, in part due to mistakes on the bid such as no tile bid for one bathroom. Not once during the project was I advised of the huge cost over runs. No contract left me no legal recourse. Caveat emptor!

Ed and his crew handled every surprise with a can do-attitude and worked until everything was right. The house was transformed - new framing, new bathroom, new floors, new carpet, new doors and windows, new paint. They did it all. Ed's original estimate was on the money, and he managed the schedule well to have all the work done in only a few weeks. Ed knew that I had both a tight time schedule and tight budget and he worked well to suggest materials that fit both. I picked up an inexpensive vanity top from Second Use for the bathroom, and Ed was happy to cut it to size to fit the existing vanity which he refurbished with paint and new drawer pulls. It looked brand new and saved money, which was important. Ed was excellent at communication both in person and online, which was vital for me as I was managing the work from out of state.
