I recently started the Rosacea treatment. I have had two sessions and already look amazing. I have been fighting Rosacea for years. And because of it, I have more acne looking pimples than I ever had a an adolescent. I see a dermatologist on a regular basis; trying creams and lotions and soaps, and finally the Dr and I landed on an antibiotic. I've been swallowing this antibiotic for nearly 10 years now. And if I miss even one stinking pill I break out and turn red for weeks. But... after only two sessions with Kim, I have not taken the antibiotic in nearly a week and I look normal! I did not have a good experience with this place. I went for laser treatment. Paid over $900 in advance for 6 treatments but only ended up getting 1 done. My face was in pain afterwards and then I had Burns. I didn't leave my house for two weeks. I contacted the spa to let them know and to ask for my money back because I didn't want to continue treatments after the first. I never got my money back and I should have pressed them more on it but after a few months I just did not have the energy to deal with it. Lost my money and it took months to heal my face. read more

I have been a veterinarian for over 30 years and have never charged my clients for being late or missing appointments. I'm glad that your business is so successful that you do not need to take care of your clients and can charge them over $300 when they make a mistake on booking their appointment. Good for you. A "deposit" is supposed to mean the amount of money you will forfeit if you do not show up. I don't even think it's legal to charge more than that when you call it a deposit. I had my eyebrows laminated here about a week ago. I have never had my eyebrows laminated before. My only knowledge of lamination came from a few quick videos I watched on social media. My experience was different in a few ways: 1.The videos watched started with what looked like a cleansing process. This step was missed in my experience. I would have like to have had that done as I had on make up. 2. The person elected not to wax my eyebrows, explaining that the lamination process is very hard on the skin and waxing further hurts the skin as it rips off a layer. She Said she would pluck instead. *** She did pluck my eyebrows. I spent many months growing them out and was excited to have them shaped. She did a great job with the shaping and I didn't mind the plucking at all. 3. When I left I couldn't tell if they had been tinted. (I have very dark hair) After examination I think they were tinted. It was barely noticeable but I like it. 4. I left with no after care instructions at all. I went directly to the gym and sweated my face off. LOL Then scrubbed it when I got home. Don't know if that was the right thing to do or not. I instantly regretted not calling to ask questions before cleaning my face. read more

I went here to try somewhere new and i am pretty disappointed. I had eyelash extensions done and it felt rushed and like it wasn't done right (I've gone other places before) I was told the inner corners of my eyes would need a lighter lash and I said that was fine, once the lady was done there were NO lashes on the inside of my eyelashes and now a few weeks later I have clumps pulling out huge chunks of my REAL lashes off. I had Su do my permanent eyeliner (top and bottom) and could not be happier. She was attentive, professional, personable, and enjoyable. She did a PERFECT job with her skilled, experienced, precise hands. I experienced no pain during the procedure. Su even worked through the challenge of my twitchy eyelids (they involuntarily flutter when under bright light). After my session I had minimal discomfort, and barely any swelling. I was apprehensive about going to work barefaced the following day, but I ended up having several people compliment me on how great I looked (nobody knew I had the permanent eyeliner done!). Review is based on electrolysis experience; I've been getting electrolysis for over a year at other places. I came here to see Sue who was very nice. The electrolysis hurt worse than any other time I've had it done. It hurt so bad in fact, I had her stop my session short. When I got home I saw that the follicles she removed hair from were very large and filled with clear fluid and very red. It's been a week and a half, and there are broken blood vessels in the area she worked on and it's still red and noticeable. I've never experienced this level of irritation and I'm really hoping the blood vessels disappear! Update: it's been a couple months, and I still have broken vessels by my lip! I'm going to have to pay a bunch of money now and try getting the vessels lasered. read more

Sorry Suzi, I cannot recommend your salon. *One cardinal rule you don't break in the service industry, is negate how a customer feels about the service they received. No matter how bad or how joking the review may be. By you stating that you are standing behind your prices and the quality of work, did exactly that. First off, I'm not from here, I live in Southern CA. I receive my services from establishments in Beverly Hills and Hermosa Beach...and I pay less. So you see, I do know what I'm talking about. I recommend you rethink your pricing on some of the services you provide. You can't justify your current pricing schedule for the services I received. The quality? What I thought was a good tint job, I was mistaken. The tint only lasted a little over a week. When it usually lasts for 3-4 weeks when I have them done elsewhere. The haircut? After getting home, I had to make some cuts myself, as some areas were clearly uneven and/or untouched. Please, the next time you reply to a review, it should always be positive and humble in its delivery. Otherwise, say nothing. Just make sure you do indeed take these reviews seriously. Worst haircut I've had in years! I look like I got in a fight with a lawnmower. I told the girl I wanted just a trim and she took off 6 inches. I'm a licensed stylist myself, and I can honestly say I'm positive this stylist had no idea what she was doing. She told me she would keep it long in the front with longer layers. I left looking like Mrs. Brady from the Brady Bunch but with random long strands scattered through the back. She just kept on cutting and cutting. She even turned the chair away from the mirror and said I wasn't allowed to see it yet.. That's when I started to really feel nervous. You never turn your client away from the mirror while cutting. It's like the stylist is trying to hide something. She mentioned the surcharge for having thick hair, and told me because my hair would be "easy" she would charge me less.. she also told me she wanted to just cut it dry because she "went to a dry cutting Asian hair school"......????? Now call me a pokey Midwesterner, but where exactly are these dry cutting Asian hair schools? Is that even a real thing or..? I wish I knew the girl's name, but I do know she has long hair with a really terrible brassy ombre. The salon itself is cute, but for the love of your hair please, please, PLEASE go somewhere else! In fact, you can get a much better cut at Great Clips for a fraction of the cost. A good cut will grow out in 4 to 7 weeks. A bad cut can take up to 14 weeks or more to grow out. This will be a summer long grow out project. :( read more

I went in last week with a Groupon that I received as a gift for my upcoming 30th birthday, my appointment was with Katrina, she was nice enough at first, then she tried to talk me out of the color I wanted, as a former stylist I know what I was asking for was not a difficult task, simply an all over color. She then informed me that she would be charging me an extra $30 because my hair is "thick", my hair is very average as far as thickness, I have never been charged extra anywhere else. The Groupon was also supposed to come with a deep conditioner and a hair cut. She skipped the deep conditioner, and the cut was ok, nothing special. She had no idea how to style curly hair, so I left there with my hair looking an absolute mess, and when I got home and really looked through my hair, I noticed I had really bad hot root's, and the color was not even throughout, it looks terrible, and I will have to go elsewhere and pay for it to be fixed. I would not recommend Katrina to anyone. I can't even explain how upset I am about my hair and experience. Especially since I was charged for having "thick hair" 30 buck's! It felt like she was trying to charge more since I had a Groupon voucher that gave me a discount and was a gift! read more

I have been seeing Su for my experiments with Spa time for the past few months. It all started when I found a random Groupon for a wax and booked the appointment, and I've been hooked ever since. I'm still adjusting to being a grown-ass woman, so I've dabbled with various waxes and a facial. I could have written a review after my first appointment, but a) I'm forgetful and b) my experiences have only gotten better the longer I've been going. Maybe I'm just new to the whole facial thing, but I walked out feeling like a million bucks after that and the semi-massage. This place always has good vibes and you can't help but smile when walking in. Su is so sweet and charming, and hilarious too! She is very personable and makes a huge effort to make sure I'm comfortable. The other staff have been great with scheduling/rescheduling appointments with me, and they are never overbearing about upselling or committment, which is great for me since my spa time is a luxury I can't always guarantee. Let me just say, that if Ehrin ever moves/retires/goes away for any reason, I'll just shave my head and cry. Ok maybe not, but Ehrin is the BEST stylist I've ever had. I am multiracial so was never able to find a stylist that could "handle" my hair texture. I remember my first appointment with Ehrin, I walked out of the salon feeling like a movie star, I kid you not!! She is amazing at cutting and coloring, and I go to her for my Brazilian blowout every 3 months too. My hair is currently almost to my bra strap in the back which is a length I've NEVER had before. It's healthy and easy for me to style. I seriously won't even get a trim from anyone else but Ehrin. I also had permanent makeup (eyeliner, full lips, and brows) done here by Su. People tell me all the time they can't believe it's tattooed on because it looks so natural. She did my grandmothers as well and the colors are perfect and really look soft and natural. Permanent makeup is a pricey service but I promise you it's SOOO worth it, it saves so much time especially on hectic mornings. Su is great to chat with and makes the process relaxing and (almost) pain free. I highly recommend this salon for any of your beauty needs! I had a hair appt with Ehrin today and I have to say I was highly disappointed! They name of the salon isn't very fitting! My hair was done mediocre at best! First off Ehrin was extremely weird like she wasnt mentally present... She kept on sayin she was having anxiety and its just made me feel uncomfortable. It was the weirdest experience I've ever had getting my hair done! Im not sure if she was having a bad day but she did not seem focuses on doing my hair! It was as if she jus wanted to get done and over with . Also I thought I was receiving a deep conditioning treatment that's was goin to replenish and make my hair soft . I don't feel that was optimally done! My hair didn't feel any better and honestly she doesn't wash hair good enough. My scalp was not even massaged. In addition Nothing was explained . I didn't even pay for the flat iron groupon I paid for the twist out but Ehrin was so spacey she just did whatever. and honestly my flat iron wasn't even good. My roots were still nappy in the front! I will save my $30 next time and do my own hair. Also I feel like she did a sloppy job trimming my ends. She proceded to tell me that I didn't have any relaxed ends on my hair before she cut it. This was obviously not true as I have grown my hair out and I know where I am at with my transition! After she said that I know I could not trust he judgment. And that she didn't have a good understanding of the care natural hair needs or for transitioning customer. Sorry will not be going back! I think their name of the salon needs to be changed to Below Par beauty salon! lastly I heard her lie and say tell the front lady to reschedule a patient due to "car trouble."Not ok... Everyone is very friendly, but it may just not be the salon for me. I had Sy as my hair stylist--I just needed a trim of my shoulder-length hair. He was clearly very invested in his work and was focused on doing a good job. What bothered me was that upon completion of the hair cut itself and it came time to blow dry and style, he didn't ask how I style my hair and it seems like he maybe just made an assumption about how I wanted my hair. I had walked into the salon looking pretty androgynous and took my hair out of a bun when I showed him the length of my hair/what I wanted in my haircut...so my hair was not very pretty and was kind of just a slicked back mess. So when he blow dried my hair, he barely gave me a part and just sort of styled it like a 13-year-old boy who has let his hair grow out too much. (Look up a picture of Lucius Malfoy from the Harry Potter movies--that was pretty much me but without the platinum blonde.) I went home and immediately put it into a ponytail because it just was unflattering. I wish he had asked how I wanted my hair finished. Additionally, the other technicians in the salon were quite bubbly and welcoming but the acoustics in the salon are great so it felt like I was forced to listen to a conversation when I really just wanted to sit in silence and have my hair cut. I have also gotten my eyebrows done here. They looked great but the rest of my eyebrow wax experiences (at other spas) were in quiet, soothing environments and that was not my experience here. So they weren't terrible experiences and I appreciate the atmosphere they are trying to create but I think I'm just a little more low-key than their intended demographic. I was scheduled to get a partial highlight with Katrina, but got canceled on me in a voicemail 45 minutes before the appointment. This wouldn't have bothered me if I wasn't taking the bus all the way there. I didn't find out it was canceled until I got there, which was pretty lame. Katrina did apologize for the incident and offered me 30% off my next appointment, so I do respect her for taking accountability. So then we scheduled a partial highlight that emphasized my balayage well. Overall, I can say that the service here is honest and well priced for the amount of skill that Katrina has as a hair stylist. Also, the atmosphere is very comfortable. I recently moved to Tacoma and had to find a place for wax and eyelashes- I'd say I was very lucky to find HM and even luckier that Kim was available to assist me! Let's put it this way, Kim gives you the kind of wax you want without even asking- super thorough, no irritation afterwards and smooth sailing all around The wax went so well I decided to trust Kim with my eyelashes too- I'm super happy with the results! I found my lash person with Kim YAY! And lastly, its been a very long time since I've had a facial , only because I'm fearful they do more harm then good (I'm prone to breakouts) BUT, I trusted Kim to give me a facial as well- she did extractions with the facial (as I had several active pimples) and I could not be more thrilled with the results- not one breakout since & it's been about 2 weeks!! I have been a client of Su's for 9 years. Su is amazing! Cannot say enough good things about her. Su is extremely knowledgable and talented. She does the BEST lash extensions. She is fast and skilled. I cannot believe how much my friends pay elsewhere, and how incredibly long someone else takes, two hours on average. Su does a full set in less than an hour. They last for 3-4 weeks, if you follow Su's instructions. Su also does the best Facial ever! I travel all over the county, and work occasionally pays for spa services, yes really :) Anyways, NO expensive salon in any city does a better facial than Su. A few months ago I had my hair cut to an even length, and let it grow for a while. Today, I was so excited for a trim, and to reintroduce some layers. I came in with thick hair, even length, past my shoulders, and asked for some framing around my face and some fun layers. What I got was a nightmare, which just kept getting worse. At first, Katrina thinned my hair, which was exactly what I wanted. After she began cutting, and then moved onto blow-drying, I started getting nervous because I could see a prominent shelf forming. As soon as she caught on that I was worried, she became snippy and unkind, and I began to panic. I pointed out the shelf and she snapped, saying, "I said I was going to blend it later, after I dried it". She kept trying to blame it on me, saying that it was the way my head was tilted or the density of my hair (ironic because it had just dramatically been thinned out). Afterward she wouldn't look at me, and I was fighting tears, watching the shelf get worse and knowing there was nothing that could fix it. I am in complete shock. I went in with a perfect palette, long, thick hair, at an even length. All I asked for was a trim and some layers, and now I'm looking at months of recovery and grow time, during which I will have to keep my hair pulled up. I cannot believe this happened, and that framing my face meant cutting off three inches of hair in a straight line, and then hoping it would blend. Now I have one really short layer, and the rest of my hair. It looks like a mullet. There was no apology or admittance of messing anything up, or mention of a refund.
