    Tempura with Meat Combo
    Arnold L.

A longtime staple in Toronto's Financial District, Ho Ga offers affordable lunch bento boxes to keep you going for the remainder of the day. All the options are less than $10 with a wide variety of meats, tempuras, and side dishes to build your custom bento box. They have favorites such as Beef Bulgogi, Pork/Chicken Katsu, and Shrimp Tempura to pair with sides such as japchae (cold glass noodles) and kimchi. All their bentos do come with two pieces of gyoza dumplings which adds a nice surprise to an affordable and filling lunch. Be prepared to queue in the line as it can get quite busy during the lunch rush, so be sure to go with a few colleagues or bring a book as you wait in line!

Extremely difficult to find lunch options under $10 nowadays. Ho Ga for 9.50 tax in, offers a decently sized lunch box that can fill you up at a very affordable price. The actual food quality is nothing surprising, but it's passable especially at this price. I got the pork katsu with japchae and kimchi and they even throw in 2 gyozas as well. Definitely a good amount of food. I'd probably try the bulgogi next and avoid the kimchi (it's not really kimchi, more like a coleslaw with spice). A great option in the PATH for a cheap, korean lunch though it does get really busy so either come a bit before or after the lunch rush.

It's not easy to find good food at a good value downtown anymore... luckily places like this still exist!! For less than $10 you can get what I call Korean comfort food. I ended up getting the bulgogi with kimchi and japchae as sides. It was so tasty, I loved how they marinated the beef in a flavourful sauce. The glass noodle was good, but I was slightly disappointed with the kimchi. As a kimchi lover, it wasn't what I was expecting. It was more of a hard cabbage (the kind you get in coleslaw) kind of taste, and it wasn't fermented the best. It was just okay, but could have been better. All in all, this is a great, affordable place to go for lunch in the path and the portions they give are decent considering the price you pay. They seem to be very quick with getting through the line and very efficient. So even if this place is busy, the line moves quick! Love having this as an option for my lunches.

Korean chicken with kimchi and coleslaw. You get two sides with your main on a bed of rice.

By far the most affordable store in downtown Toronto for a work lunch meal! Definitely feels like a family run business and they've kept the prices low even after what's happened the past two years! Fish katsu and spicy Korean chicken taste awesome. Recommend kimchi side, and their glass noodles is very popular but heavy! You get a great meal for the price you pay!

Bottom: chicken teriyaki with jap chae and slaw. Top: Korean chicken with jap chae, rice and kimchi.

Started to explore what's around my office since my team moved close by. This place was recommended by my colleagues. We actually got here just after 11 and they weren't ready yet. However boss let us in. I decided to get a chicken teriyaki with jap chae and slaw with no rush. My colleague got Korean chicken with similar fixings plus rice. And per other people's comments. For less than $10, you get a lot of food and I concur to that statement. Brought it back to office and tasted okay. My chicken did get a bit dry and luckily they used chicken thigh meat. Tried a piece of the Korean chicken my colleague got and that tasted better. Good value for money for downtown lunch options. Will come back for other stuff.

Bulgogi meal with Japchae + Pasta as sides. Japchae is a must, and don't pick pasta.

This is the perfect place if you're craving for some cheap Korean food right at downtown's Financial District (in PATH). Is the quality good? Meh. But is the quality good for a $7 meal? Hell ya. This place is well-known and popular for many office workers, so be ready to get in line when you come around lunch time. However, the turnover is really quick (max wait around 5-10 minutes). I had the Bulgogi and it costs $7.75 with tax included. Side dishes are also what draws people towards Hoga. They pile a lot of side dishes on your plate (choose 2). Japchae is a must. But don't pick Pasta since it doesn't go that well with meat. One recommendation I have for them is to label their dishes so people can call out the food they want easily, instead of asking them "what's this over here", which will take up time. You can't find similar deals anywhere else that delivers such good prices, acceptable quality, fast service and adequate food amount.

Fish Katsu meal (left) comes with rice and two sides $8. The separate order of dumplings (right) was $3.

Fish Katsu and dumplings $11.50 with tx incl. I'm so full I won't need another meal for the day. If you only want the fish Katsu it's $8. CASH ONLY! Location: Lower Level of the National Bank of Canada building at King and York. Hands down the best (taste, size, price) lunch deal i have found in the financial district. Service is very efficient, moves quickly but still friendly. The fish was super tender on the inside but had a delicious crunch. Dumplings were just ok. I wish they had a steamed version but they only have fried. Will certainly be back to try other dishes !

Bulgogi with rice, glass noodles, and kimchi. All for under $10!

One of my favourite options in the Path. If you're looking for a Korean fix, this place has got you covered. From bulgogi to fish katsu, you can get just about everything under $10. Make sure you bring cash! My favourites from here are the bulgogi, glass noodles, and pickled cabbage. Get here before 11:30am if you want to avoid the lunch rush. Otherwise expect to wait around 15 minutes for your meal. There's only three tables, so don't expect to eat inside, but there's plenty of food court space for you to squat at if you're looking to get away from your desk.

Probably one of the busiest and cheapest lunch places in the Financial District! Most meals are under $10 and the portions are massive! I got a bulgogi with bean sprouts and japchae and it was probably enough for 2 people. For the price, the quality is pretty good. Cash only and be prepared to wait!

BEST KOREAN JOINT IN THE FINANCIAL DISTRICT. It's awesome to have such a inexpensive and tasty Korean. I could come here everyday for lunch! Last week I collected 2 pictures of my lunch... it's so yummy I normally get no rice, and substitute it with their spring mix.

    Traditional bibimbap with bulgogi

Went on Black Friday and beat the lunch hour rush by going just before noon! Definitely great value, with lunches being either $7 or $8 after taxes, cash-only and a small seating area. Service: Line went pretty quick, with 3 people serving food and a cashier, portions may vary depending on which server you get. Looks like a family-run business, friendly people. Food: Bibimbap was decent and a good portion size, and the gochujang was flavorful. Only wish the food was a bit more warm, but obviously it's not fair to compare it against one served in a stone bowl at a restaurant. Fried eggs were pre-made and a bit cold. DIY sauce bar for condiments (sriracha, gochujang, etc.). Glass noodles tasted good, and good variety of veggie included in the dish. Overall: Great value for take-out lunch, would definitely recommend when craving Korean food.

    Chicken teriyaki. $5.10 + tax.

I passed by around 11:40, knowing that there will be a huge lunch rush coming up. There were already 5 or 6 people queued up, but that's alright it's better than 20. But service is pretty fast: there are usually 2 or 3 people filling orders. So even a long line dwindles down pretty fast. When I left 3 minutes later, there was another 15 people lining up. A sign at the front says "cash-only", so be wary. == Menu Menu comes with an assortment of dishes including teriyaki, katsu, donburi, chicken curry, bibimbap, udon noodle soup, along with some appetizers. Most of these options include two sides of your choice, such as sweet potato noodles, kimchi, bean sprouts, green broccoli and some other options. Everything on the menu is under $7. The most expensive items go for $6.99, but they average $6, and there are a couple items going for $5.10, such as a box of teriyaki chicken. == Food Asked for the chicken teriyaki, with noodles and kimchi on the side. Comes with white rice. It didn't look like much in the take-out box, but after plating it, it's a pretty good portion. The chicken had a particularly interesting flavor. I don't know if it was just the sauce they used, or the way they prepared it, but it had the distinct chicken flavor that you would get when you boil chicken as opposed to grilling or frying. Basically the chicken tasted like chicken. The sides were fillers for the most part. They really pack it in though. It's a good place if you're on a budget and don't like to bring in homecooking.
