Pork bone soup is very popular here
    Harry J.

The pork bone soup is superb and they have really good korean food!! This place is real hidden gem. It might look little poor outside but the taste of korean food is amazing. The owner chef used to work as a cook at a popular korean restaurant in toronto and usa maybe over 20years..I am not sure. But he is one of the best korean chef I am sure!! Anyways it is tiny food court restaurant but they do have so many korean menu!! And price is very good. The wife of the owner is always friendly and treat u like son or daughter. This place is actually already popular among chinese and korean customers. Even it is hiding in unpopular plaza, They have been doing great job in there. Especially I love their kimchi and cucumber kimch so much. They make it every morning so freshly:) Also they make dumplings by themself. It is so juicy and tasty:)

We ordered fried chicken with special sauce with rice on side, so total $14 ($12 for chicken and $2 for rice) Taste was fine, nothing special to it. The portion it was small. Unfortunate they didn't give us kimchi, I thought every Korean food place will give the kimchi with food we ordered. I guess not for this place!

    Gamjatang

I came here for the 1st time ever after hearing and seeing that it's a pretty popular spot among the Asians in my school with a cheap price. I tried their best seller which is the gamjatang aka pork bone soup. The soup is flavorful n perfectly seasoned, not bland or full of doenjang like some places. The meat is tender and fall off the bone. They give suchhh a big portion that I have not seen anywhere else with only 9$. There are many pieces of bones with tons of meat on them. The kimchi n cucumber kimchi were also bomb. The old lady who took our order was also really nice and smiley. Overall, I love this place and will def become a regular as it's close by.

Good place for Korean staple dishes. Good food. No tip. No taxes. It's in an ethnic food court.

Walking in, we were greeted with a smile. The interior of the restaurant was spacious with a private feel since they had areas sectioned off from one another. We ordered the Japchae (5/5), Boneless Yangnyum Galbi (4/5), Pork Belly (4/5). Japchae was delicious with a hint of smokey flavour to it. The noodles were chewy and complemented well with the savoury flavours of bulgogi. The vegetables added a nice crunch to every bite. The mushrooms added a chewy and fun texture to the dish. Boneless Yangnyum Galbi was so tender. Its marinade was on the sweet side which we weren't really a fan of but we still enjoyed the dish. Pork Belly was also tender. It was thinly sliced which was quite a let down since we typically prefer pork belly sliced a bit thicker. The BBQ we ordered came with two bowls of rice and lettuce (non-refillable), ssamjang and sesame oil with black pepper and salt for dipping, and some side dishes that were refillable: kimchi, bean sprouts, cucumbers and sweet potato. The overall quality of the ingredients, especially the meats, were great. It was pretty telling how much the cooks enjoyed prepping and cooking the dishes. This place is on the pricier side which is reasonable for the quality of their food. The portions are also reasonable for their price-points. I'd come back on a special occasion and/or when I'm craving japchae. The servers we had were attentive, checking in every so often to clear our dishes and change our grills.

There are several mispelled words and other issues with spacing and formatting printed in the menu which for me personally gives off a bad initial impression and lowers the overall vibe of the dining establishment. The food and service does make up for it a little bit. Our waitress was quick to offer house tea early on after we have arrived. The complimentary kimchi and onion for each diner was also always welcome. As an appetizer, I enjoyed our order of small Boneless Fried Chicken flavored with Cheese *Sprinkle. (The other available flavors include Sweet & Sour, Soy Garlic, Honey, Spicy, Spicy *Honey) There were enough pieces of the chicken for sharing between our group of 5 people. Something else I appreciated was the authentic feel of the rice being served in a hot stone pot inside the wooden crates. My main order was menu item #1 Combination Soon Tofu (Beef, Shrimp, Mussel) + Hot Stone Pot Rice. I find the order OK to good. There was too much going on in the soup to find any unifying or distinctive taste. If I have to order again, I would choose a different soup dish sticking to 1 main topping instead of 3. Another main dish I have gotten to sample was menu item #12 Pork Bone Soup. I wouldn't rank it among the best Korean Pork Bone Soups (Gamjatang) I have tried. The meat could have used more time cooking as it was not as tender as I normally expect for this dish. Lastly, I find the overall theming of the place lacking. Considering the restaurant's name, I expected them to specialize with tofu dishes or at least to have a signature menu item having tofu as the main ingredient. The tofu I did have included in my dish was nothing special.

Fast forward to 2026. We're in the Toronto area and I notice there are a handful of Myung Dong style restaurants on my search. We ended up picking this one because it was the closest one from our hotel. Without knowing the quality of the other options, we were so glad we made this choice. Similar menu and the kimchi is one of the stars of the show. Slightly unripe, but loaded with garlic, we couldn't get enough of it. The kalguksu had a mild, but peppery broth; and all members of my family thought it was the best they'd ever had. We also ordered the bossam (pork belly) and steamed mandoo. Eating here was the highlight of our trip. We even considered going back the next day!

There are many other Korean dishes one can choose from, especially their popular large pork dumplings. Overall, it was a good experience with my friend.

I've never had a truly bad food/service experience here and in a city where everything is closed by 11 pm, I like that I can always rely on this place for a midnight craving (it's open till 2 am). I think I go back here time and again because this place fills a void in the types of restaurants available in the city. There aren't many late-night sit-down Korean restaurants so I inevitably find myself here. The corn cheese is something I get every time I go here. I really enjoy the salty and sweet combination! I also had the pollack soup for the first time (number 7 on the menu) and thought it was both fishy and spicy, which I really liked. While I certainly don't think you'll be disappointed with the food, I think it's pretty average as far as Korean food goes. I guess the one thing I will say is that I feel like they skimp out on their meat. I'll often order the bibimbap or some other similar rice and meat option and find myself with way too much rice and not enough meat.
