021. Roast Pork Egg Roll and 089. Vegetable Lo Mein
Mia E.

I moved into my neighborhood a couple of months ago mid-Covid and was on the hunt for a new Chinese place. Delivery was quick, my food was hot, and it was a great price. I would say normally my Lo Mein has a bit more flavor but I will take it. A little soy sauce helped elevate it a bit. The egg roll on the other hand was perfection. *chefs kiss* crunchy in the outside and packed with yumminess on the inside. Overall not the best but def not the worst. I would get it again.

Water and excellent bread arrived immediately and the waiter was helpful describing dishes and giving advice. Salads were fresh and crisp. Caesar was nicely dressed and the mixed salad was a nice combination with well balanced herb vinaigrette. Seafood dishes had large amounts of fresh seafood and the veal picatta had the lemony flavor you expect without excessive acidity. Dessert was tasty and innovative. The ricotta based cheese cake wasn't as smooth as the cream cheese form but the citrus flavor was great. Throughout the meal water and bread were refilled, plates from completed courses removed and next delivered without being overly hovering. All in all a really great meal.

It works especially well for a mixed group since they have plenty of options including dishes without meat and everyone can find something. Even my picky niece and nephew were happy. My favorite entree is the Capellini Puttanesca, with capers, olives, basil, and anchovies. It's super tasty, satisfying, and the perfect portion. I also love that they offer wine by the glass and the service is consistently attentive. The waiters are always moving through the room, checking tables, refilling water, and making sure people have what they need. It's good, reliable, and near Broadway. NOTES/TIPS: **Reservations recommended via Google, Open Table; wheelchair accessible; clean bathrooms.

I'm a Thai foodie from California and I really loved SaiTong! The restaurant was busy and I was by…read moremyself so I was happy to sit at the bar, and was attended to by the most sweet bartender ever. Very polite, professional and attentive. I first ordered the crispy spring rolls, which were very good. For my main I had the Massaman Curry. Now folks, this is my favorite curry of all time -- actually one of my favorite foods of all time -- and while it's common in LA where I used to live, it's not as common where I live now, in the Bay Area. And the restaurants that do carry it usually do not make it right and it's not very good. I am used to Massaman in the traditional preparation where it's more like a beef stew made with chunks of beef and needs to cook overnight. When done right it is the most aromatic curry ever -- it's almost like an aphrodisiac! -- and the beef comes out oh so tender. Usually if places have this curry but then offer a choice of protein, then it generally is not cooked properly, and that is actually how they prepare it at SaiTong. But because of such great reviews I decided to take a chance and try it. Well, let me tell you, it was definitely not the norm...it was absolutely delicious! I had it with chicken (they serve breast as default), and the chicken soaked up the curry really nicely. I also asked for there to be no onions, which I think alters the flavor of a curry too much. It does include the traditional potatoes and peanuts, and the potatoes were fine and cut into nice little chunks, the peanuts actually were thrown in raw.. what I think is the more traditional way which is to actually burn the peanuts a little bit, but that's okay, it didn't take down the dish any. Their brown rice is of the very dark kind, which I like, and goes so well with the curry. Service was wonderful from the bartender but was also provided by the rest of the staff and everyone was so nice. I left there feeling so satisfied, and cannot wait to go back and try some other dishes.

Taste wise is toward sweet and sour. As usual, Thai food not my cup of tea. Don't know why keep going back to Thai restaurants, hoping will find something suitable for my taste but so dar always disappointed.

I'd file this spot under "Times Square dinner spots that make you feel like you're not in Times…read moreSquare." Came here for dinner before a show (and after watching that In The City episode...can we all agree the dress was white?!). Anyway, love the vibe of this place, very high end and cool feeling decor wise. We were seated and taken care of right away, our server understood we had to be out at a certain time and made sure everything came out in a timely manner which was much appreciated. I started out with the pani puri cocktail because I'm a simp for pani puri. Loved the little case this whole thing came out in, the drink was delicious and the puri had a smokey flavor to it. We had the Gilafi Paneer to start out which was soft, tasted homemade. The bell pepper and onion with it were roasted and excellent. I went with the goat curry for my main and was blown away, I ate every last drop of this sauce with the garlic naan I was happy to have ordered. Definitely not your typical mediocre Times Square spot. If you're looking for a pre-show dinner spot and love Indian food this is the place for you.

We tried Natraj dahi bhalle which was a hit. Also tried Channa bhatura which was again a great choice and not too overly filling. Bedmi puri sabzi and Koyla chicken was just ok, not something I would crazy over but decent enough. And the last thing we tried was Mutton Seekh kebab roll. This was an absolute pleaser, thin roomali rotis wrapped around perfectly seasoned minced goat meat, paired with the chutney, this was divine. I would recommend trying this place out. We also tried the masala soda which was nice but missed the actual Karol bagh flavor.

We arrived without reservation, and were lucky enough to be seated, even though it was very full...I recommend making a reservation, we got lucky. We were seated towards the back of the cozy narrow dining room and immediately greeted with a smile from the awesome waitress Cherry. She was very helpful and informative with the unusual tapas menu. We ordered a selection of items, and each dish was so good! Starting with the brussel sprout starter, which was crispy, bright and delicious. we then ordered tteokbokki, described as a rice cake, but much more like little bowl delicious rice gnocchi with a creamy chase sauce. We followed with jjambong gambas, a creative and tasty shrimp dish, and the seafood ramen, very spicy and a real treat. If you get a chance, do not miss out on this sweet spot. Incredible food, astounding and attentive service, and all in a magical cozy dining room.
