I haven't really seen that combination anywhere else, and I think it's really unique and really good. They also have a great happy hour. I'm not the biggest fan of the wings, but the shrimp and lobster roll is definitely worth trying. The service has always been good when I've visited, and the atmosphere is always a vibe. It's next to the Barrymore Theatre and nearby other theaters, so a good option for a pre-show drink or food. When you walk in, there is a large bar on the left with both bar and lounge seating. Toward the back, there are additional tables, along with an open upper level that has more seating. We sat at the bar in corner seats by the window. There are probably about ten to twelve seats at the bar, and the large bar seats were quite comfortable. We made it in time for happy hour (Monday through Friday, 4:00 to 7:00 PM) and ordered espresso martinis ($10 each) along with one of the happy hour bar bites, the $10 wings. We were heading to a show starting in about 30 minutes, and our server kindly expedited the wings. The drinks were made promptly as well. The espresso martinis were great, and the wings were tasty. This was my first time at this location, I've been to the original location several times. The waiter ,Eddie, was very pleasant and attentive. From how he presents himself, I honestly thought he was one of the managers, I really liked that. The restaurant was nice, and bigger than the other location. After dining at the Nassau street location, it was no-brainer to give the Time Square location a try. I came here for a solo dinner and it did not disappoint. Although I came on a night where there was a prefix menu, I was able to get the salmon bites with fried rice is my absolute favorite entrée here. I dined alone at the Times Square location during Restaurant Week. I was seated at a table across from the kitchen door while waiting for my food. One thing to note: that area seems to be a cell phone dead zone, so don't expect much connectivity. The server even came back to offer me the same steak saying it cooked extra bc it was on a hot plate.................. The steak was well done before it got to our table. I cut it open immediately because we were waiting for so long. Also, the temperature of a steak can not go from medium rare to well done that quickly and it should not be cooking to a different temperature at all unless it was sitting for an extended period of time in the kitchen. I will say, the server was very nice. Honestly, it did take awhile for him to come to our table. It seems everyone in NYC is having their Holiday party and every well known steakhouse has no reservations. I check on Yelp and find Brooklyn Chop House with plenty of 5 star reviews. I made a reservation and walked 12 blocks to midtown. Once inside, I see a nice looking bar. I check in with the hostess and order two cocktails. Our table is called and we're quickly seated. I order my standard Steakhouse order: French Onion Soup Bone in Ribeye Creamed Spinach I'm told they have onion dumplings soup. Ok, something different but I'm down to clown. It was interesting. Onion broth with wontons is how I'd best describe this dish. The $110 dollar 24oz bone in ribeye? C'mon, are you serious? The quality was something you'd get at a local supermarket. Marbling? No. I asked for medium rare and it came medium well. This was the weirdest steak I ever had in NYC. Commanding a price more than the 125+ year old steakhouses and it's a cheap meat cut? If you're thinking "Chop house" an expect a thick steak cut? You and I were sadly disappointed. And what's with the TVs?! Again, this is not throwing off steakhouse vibes. Is it chophouse vibes? My buddy wanted fried rice. In a steakhouse?! Is that also a chophouse thing? The entire evening left me thinking this overpriced and under performing meal might be good for out of state tourists. New Yorkers know better if they want a quality steak. Steer clear from this place if you're looking for a great steak. At Wolfgang's they tilt the plate and baste their steak like Peter Lugers. The venue is beautiful with modern decor, and it's much larger than their other location. However, I wasn't very impressed with the food. Most of the dishes were too salty (and I usually enjoy salt, so for me to say that is unusual). The waiter wasn't very personable and took a long time to check in with us. We had to flag someone else down to get the check, as we were on our way to a show. Given the many other amazing restaurants in the area, I'm not sure if I would return. read more

After a long day of work, I was welcomed at the Brooklyn Chop House by the soft sultry music + the warm smiles of the staff. My party was seated promptly and within minutes, our waiter Feliciano came over to introduce himself. Feliciano shared that it was NYC's Restaurant week so there was a special menu being offered. Our party of three each got a three course dinner for $60/pp -- can't beat that in the city! Appetizer: Impossible Dumplings Vegetable lettuce wraps Chicken lettuce wraps Entrées Salt and pepper shrimp Beijing chicken Sides Broccoli and garlic Bok choy Vegetable fried rice Chicken fried rice Dessert Cheesecake Chocolate cake Chocolate ice cream Cocktails Old-fashioned with Uncle Nearest The lettuce wraps were really fresh. Great way to start our meal. The Beijing chicken SLAPS & the salt/pepper shrimp were fried to perfection. As always, the fried rice was tasty but I was really surprised (shouldn't have been) by how well seasoned the veggies were. by the tenders or hit the table, I was already full, but I took a bite of the chocolate cake anyway. it was so rich! Th most disappointing food and experience I had in NYC this weekend. The restaurant was closed for a private event so I was seated in the basement. The basement looks absolutely nothing like the main dinging room. Service: extra slow. The section I was sitting in had 11 tables, 3 taken the rest empty. Service was still slow-because my waitress was busy talking to the other severs. At one point I had to get up and go get the server to get what I needed. The second time I had to grab a hostess and ask her to get the waitress for me. Again-the basement wasn't busy. The food -not spectacular I expected more. I would have been happier going to a carry out Chinese place for $10. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone who works hard for their income I had a drink and sent it back-the drink had no flavor profile. It tasted like straight liquor. read more

The ambiance was amazing and unfortunately, that was it. But I hope their management reads this because no one should have to eat what I did. That salad with the oriental chicken was so bad. I can't believe they screwed up a salad. There were no leaves in the salad! Here's what it was: you know when you prep lettuce and remove the spines (hard long pieces) so all that remains are the beautiful green leaves? I didn't get the leaves. THAT's what the salad was made of!! You usually throw away those hard pieces but nope they do that stuff in a bowl and feed it to their customers. They just cut up those hard pieces, tossed it, then plopped the oriental chicken on it. Here's why I said nothing... I didn't feel comfortable with the waiter. I didn't feel as though I could tell him because there were three other people who served us as well. They were coming out of nowhere. It looked like he was super busy and others were trying to help him and it was just too much. I can tell you I had four men and one woman serve the table. And one of them admitted they don't usually work on that side of the establishment so they couldn't answer my question about a beverage. I hear horror stories about people who send food back. I hate that I didn't say anything, but I really really didn't want to have to worry about my food's cleanliness. It's an awful way to think but it's true. So my review is here. Looking back, maybe I would've done things differently, but I didn't have a rapport with my waiter so that I could try to talk to him about what was happening. He didn't linger. Didn't try to get to know what our preferences were. He was there and then he wasn't. It just wasn't good. This was my first time at Brooklyn Chop House and the memory is not a good one.
