Brian's Painting - Prepped and painted this lovely one story home. It needed some attention and Brian's Painting was able to offer its services.

May 2026 update - Unfortunately after another five months of the same (promises made, none kept),…read moreI've officially given up in trying to get this resolved. While Brian did come out to sand out all the bubbles, it actually made things worse as I have areas of raw wood now. I've had to hire another contractor and will weigh my options as far as recovering compensation for a job that wasn't done right.

UPDATE (June 8, 2026): We have received neither payment nor communication from Brian…read more UPDATE (May 2026): We obtained a court judgment in our favor in late April. Brian told us he currently did not have the money, would be traveling in Europe for several weeks, but would "guarantee to pay at latest by June 5th." We will update this review accordingly. ORIGINAL REVIEW (April 2026): Using Brian's Painting was a very disappointing and costly experience that left us with an unfinished home and significant financial loss. We hired Brian for a $10,000 exterior painting project. After collecting $6,000, he completed only about 10% of the work, then abandoned the project and stopped communicating. Brian requested a 40% deposit ($4,000) and later an additional 20% ($2,000) after a short prep stage that took about eight hours. After receiving the $6,000, he returned only twice for brief visits over several weeks, then dropped the job, leaving the house unfinished. (See attached photos.) We attempted to resolve the matter in good faith. We agreed he could keep the $2,000 even though several licensed painters we consulted estimated that only about 10% ($1,000) of the work had been completed by Brian. He eventually agreed to refund the $4,000 deposit, but after multiple deadline extensions has only returned $1,300 and has now stopped communicating altogether. We are now pursuing recovery through court and filing a complaint with the Regulated Industries Complaints Office (RICO), which takes enforcement action against unlicensed contractors operating illegally in Hawaii. We also had prior issues with a smaller job he completed in 2023, including use of lower-grade paint than what we paid for and paint splatter left on appliances. Despite this, we gave him another opportunity when he repeatedly requested the exterior project. We greatly regret that decision now. Bottom line: We strongly recommend homeowners to look elsewhere.

Used Ben again for touch up painting. Appreciate the flexibility and attention to details…read more He always have a smile and enthusiastic. Ben is also experienced and knowledgeable in other areas involving construction. Just pick his brain!! Aside from doing good work, Ben is just a nice guy, family man. I just rehired Ben, this time to paint the exterior of my home. He and David did an excellent job…read more They took their time prepping the house beforehand. There were a couple of places where there was rotting wood on the fascia and they removed and replaced it. They caulked around the window frames and pressured washed the windows while they were pressure washing the house. Ben noticed that the flashing on the edge of the lanai was rusting in one spot and that water was pooling under some loose shingles. Unfortunately, during this time it decided to rain so when the sun came out and dried up everything he sealed the loose shingles and replaced the flashing. The flashing was an additional cost but that didn't bother me as I wanted it taken care of and was not a part of the original estimate. Ben came back after the painting was finished to do a walk around with me to check any areas that I might have had concerns about and took care of them. He actually did a few additional things for me that had nothing to do with the initial job. Oh and the price for the exterior paint job was very reasonable! So, please don't hesitant to hire Ben and his crew if you want excellent workmanship on your next project.

Meticulous. Detail oriented. Genuine. Trustworthy. Capable. Affordable…read more If any of those words are important to you when looking for a painter, then B&B is who you should hire if you want a high-quality and beautiful paint job. Bryson knows what he's doing and has a solution for everything that was bad with our worn down exterior. We let the exterior paint deteriorate for too long, and now the house looks brand new. Prep work needed a lot, and Bryson was meticulous when prepping every surface including the gutters, overhangs, window sills, and worn areas requiring extensive work. Pressure wash, caulk, fill, and sand. Then some repeated to make things look new again. He's genuine and does what he says he's going to do. No skimping. He uses quality Sherwin Williams paint that is expected to last. Paint is sprayed, rolled, and brushed and looks flawless. Man....such a difference! And of course, his estimate came in at around the mid-range compared to others. Completely worth the money. Hire B&B! They also painted the entire interior of our house a year ago which prior to our moving in, was a rental property. Now it's ready for a photo shoot! Beautiful work and everything looks incredibly new. B&B goes the extra mile to make you happy. They genuinely care about their work. We are very happy campers and you will be too. They're all about service and satisfied clients. I'm recommending them to all my neighbors, friends, and family. Get on their list!

Good work at a good price!…read more After nearly 15 years, had to have my hour re-painted (2nd time) and priced around a few places here in Mililani. It ended up Tachibana Painting came in at the best price, and when thinking back, we did use them in 2010 ish, when we repainted the house exterior for the first time. Also when we repainted our downstairs interior when we remodeled. James came within 2 days from when I sent a message on their website to do a quote. Had to have some window trims removed due to the carpenter bees burrowing into them, have some decorative roof beams replaced (dry rot), and a few areas patched. No problem - they have people that can do it all, in addition to the painting. Then within a day and a half of the visit, I got a written quote via email, along with the warranty if we choose to do the work with them. Had the weather cooperated, it probably would've taken about a week; from the initial power washing, to re-grouting the seams, the carpentry work, then priming and painting 2 coats. But Mililani being Mililani, it rained and the work dragged on a bit, but something the workers can't control. So overall, a good job and would definitely use them again!

Our house looks fantastic! What stood out to us just as much as the finished product was the communication and customer service throughout the entire project. Henry was our company representative and was super communicative from beginning to end. He kept us informed, answered our questions, and gave us advice throughout the process. Pristine also gave us plenty of time to choose our house color and never made us feel rushed. Anyone who has painted an entire house knows that choosing the color might actually be the hardest part! We also had to move our start date a couple of times because of our own availability, and they were incredibly flexible and accommodating. Once the project started, Ryan was our project lead and was fantastic. We encountered a few problem areas that required some carpentry work, and Ryan made sure everything was addressed correctly before moving forward. LJohn and his crew of three were exceptional. They didn't rush through the job. They took their time and paid attention to the details, making sure the house looked right from every angle. At the end of each day, LJohn walked us around the house, showed us what had been completed, explained what they would be working on the next day, and made sure any concerns we had were addressed. We really appreciated that. Pristine also uses Basecamp for communication during the project, and we found it extremely useful. Questions didn't disappear into a black hole. Henry, Ryan, and even Kaipo, the owner, were quick to respond, so we always knew what was going on. One thing that happened after the project was completed really solidified our opinion of the company. A neighbor reported that a couple of cars had gotten some overspray during the project. Kaipo immediately stepped in and handled the situation directly. We didn't have to chase anyone down or get involved. It was resolved quickly and professionally. That could have easily turned into a huge issue for us, but it wasn't--and that says a lot about Pristine Painting and how they stand behind their work. A huge thank you to Henry, Ryan, LJohn and his crew, and Kaipo. The house looks beautiful, the workmanship was excellent, and we felt taken care of throughout the entire process. We would highly recommend Pristine Painting to anyone looking for a painting company. They'll definitely be our first call for our next project!

My husband and I tried to do it two years ago for our son's nursery and needless to say it was an experience we never wanted to do again. We knew we needed to hire someone to do the wallpaper for our daughters nursery this time and thank God Homer said he was available! We got quotes from other people, some were over $1000 which to me is totally absurd for one wall - I think they priced us at $1,400 or something like that, not to say the effort doesn't deserve a decent amount of payment but over a grand just seemed like a lot especially for our budget. Homer gave us a quote of $450 and knowing he had good reviews on Yelp I was comfortable saying yes. He was on time, professional, super nice, made sure I knew he was still arriving to do the job the day before, always messaged me back if I had questions, and the final result is incredible. He showed up in the morning just like he said he would and was done in the early afternoon. If I ever need someone to do wallpaper services in future renovations I am absolutely contacting Homer to do the job!
