Disappointed in this store. I have been coming here for a couple of years getting feng shui trinkets and salt water cures. Last time I came in I bought about $60 in items (even though I was unemployed). After paying the owners offered to take some of my money to be placed in a red envelope to be blessed for the Chinese new year. I thanked them and gave them a bill. They asked me to come back after the new year with my ID to pick it up. I came to pick it up and was asked to buy a salt water cure. I had a family friend get one for me so I didn't need to buy one, and I politely declined. The lady literally raised her voice at me screaming saying that next time I can get my bill blessed somewhere else and its by me buying salt water cures that her business is maintained. (eyebrow raise) I didn't realize that the owners secretly expected me to buy a $30 item from their store in order to pick up a $5 bill that was blessed (looks like they had a box full of 100+ other bill envelopes for their other customers so they simply included mine in the batch). They never mentioned at that time that I needed to buy something when picking up my envelope (I just had to bring my ID they said) - I thought they had offered kindly since I made a purchase at their store. They spread around so much negative energy at the time of pickup that they ruined my experience at their store. I have always come to visit this store with respect and kindness only to be met with this clown show today. Unbelievable that a feng shui business that is supposed to promote harmony, health, and prosperity would consider treating their customer this way. If you're a feng shui master and you're great at what you do, you should know how to harness your knowledge and abilities to bring abundance to you and therefore there should be no worry if one person didn't buy your salt water cure this time around. Too bad they lost a customer. I'm not coming back. **Update: The store owners responded below, but I promise you what I said is true and there was no misunderstanding. I was literally screamed at for not purchasing a salt water cure. I asked 4 times if I could just provide my ID to get the blessed bill that was gifted to me and each time I asked I was met with contention and screaming. There is NOTHING HUMBLE about that. I am very grateful to have visited Hoa Oriental Gift Shop and to have had the pleasure of meeting Mrs. Linh and her mother before the celebration of 2026 Chinese New Year . They were both very kind, professional, and knowledgeable about feng shui. Mrs Lihn gave me specific guidance and recommendations on what and where to place / move certain objects in my house in order to have better benefits in many and specific areas of my life and those around me. Specifically, one of the areas that has been affecting me is my love life, for which Mrs. Lihn took the time and care to prepare a beautiful "Love Box" with specific crystals, coins, and amulets (assigned to my and my husband's Chinese zodiac signs). I have been coming here for many years. I come every new year for my protection bracelet and I also use them for Fengshui for my businesses. They are very knowledgeable and fantastic at what they do. Be ready for blunt and honest feedback! I look forward to returning and continuing to refer clients to them. My last and very last encounter was terrible. The owners were arguing loudly for almost an hour with each other regarding what my fengshui charts meant and which one was the correct version. Every year if you fengshui your office place be prepared to spend at least $600 and my space isn't that big. They encourage you to buy from them only bc it has been "blessed". Been coming here for years and always leave happy. Staff is very knowledgable about feng shui and Asian spiritual traditions. They have a beautiful selection of items and the staff is always quick to answer any questions one might have on placement etc. I find that their prices are pretty reasonable and they usually have some kind of sale or promotion going on. Please do not consider shopping here if you are using a stroller or are in a wheelchair. I had shopped here for gifts many times before, but when I attempted to shop with my 19 month old in a stroller I was harassed by the staff to the point that I had to leave without even being able to browse for the gift I intended to purchase. The aisles are very crowded, but I felt I had enough room to maneuver. The staff tried to make me leave my stroller at the front of the store (oh yeah forgot to mention that I am 30 weeks pregnant). I declined stating we would be just fine. They then kept repeating that they didn't want anything to get broken. I explained that I took full responsibility for my son and I would pay for anything that he had broken. This was not enough for the employees who stood about a foot behind me making me feel like a criminal. I would have given ZERO stars if possible! NEVER AGAIN!! read more

The clothing selection was not large, neither were the sizes. They did not carry enough sizes for the average American. I'm a size 8-10, which is XXL in their sizing. They try to pressure you to buy what's on the rack when they have the same items brand new in packages in the back. Be careful! I almost bought a dress, but after examining it saw that it was badly stained in the back. Then the lady told me not to worry, that the stain would just wash out! I am not interested in buying a new garment that is so stained that it needs to be washed before I wear it, especially since THEY DON'T DO RETURNS OR EXCHANGES OF ANY KIND! (Feng shui reasons) Check everything carefully before you buy because you'll be stuck with it. I have to start off by saying this place has a lot of beautiful things inside. I would probably spend all my money here decorating my home. The lady who is the owner is very knowledgable and helpful, it's just too bad she is unreasonable. I bought my two daughters some shoes and outfits as a special surprise for Christmas. I did the best I could to pick the correct sizes, but of course the sizes are not standard American sizes so I was a little off. These were not the only items I purchased that day. I had spent a lot of my Christmas budget there that day. Again, not hard to do with all the amazing items she has. When I returned to do an exchange she wouldn't hear of it. The items were unworn and in the original packaging. I don't understand what the problem could have been. The owner lady was not very nice at all this time ( boarder line rude ). For a small business you would think customer service would be more important. I was so disappointed and so are my two daughters. I won't be going back ever again. read more

I have been coming her for over 10 years, since i was 11 years old, and the store owner has seen me grow up. For Christmas of 2011 I bought my mom a BEAUTIFUL gold silk kimono with red embroidery. Cost me about 70 dollars. Today is May 9th of 2012 the kimono has begun to fray at the seams and I went to take it to the store to see if i could do an exchange, granted I know they have signs that say they don't do exchanges because they don't want any "negative chi energy"/ However, I am sad and distraught to report that customer loyalty could not play a factor in the process. I did not deal directly with the shop owner, I believe it was her daughter or niece, but she was very rude, and talked down to me. I am deeply saddened and hurt by this incident and will no longer shop there and I will caution EVERYONE from shopping there... read more
