I have no clue if I got a good deal on the anklet I bought my gf, but my review is more about the service and establishment. The place is in a strip mall in sw miami, but looks like something you'd find in the gables or Brickell. As for the service, the older lady attending could not have been nicer. Anyone living in Miami knows customer service isn't exactly a priority here, but the ladies inside were very sweet and attentive. Very good experience overall. read more

Two thumbs up for this place. I needed a charm with a bigger loop done in white gold and got exactly what I was looking for. My brother had referred me here. I dropped it off, no surprises and no extra waiting time. They called me when it was ready and picked it up just like that. Reasonable prices made me happy. In short: I took a family heirloom (a synthetic pearl necklace) to Yanko Jewelers to have it restrung. They broke one of the pearls and replaced it with another bead that did not match the rest. I demanded that they remove the replacement and restring the necklace. When we went to pick it up the second time, the necklace was very poorly restrung and was missing another pearl. The staff was unbelievably rude. I will never step foot in this store again. The long story: I received a necklace from my mother-in-law. It originally belonged to her grandmother (my husband's great grandmother). This necklace was in my husband's family for 3 generations, and it was handed down to me after we were married. The necklace looks like pearls, but in reality the "pearls" are beads with a crystal center. When my husband dropped the necklace off, the woman behind the counter wrote "Synthetic" very clearly on the claim slip. The woman also counted the pearls and wrote that there were 66 pearls being handed over) When we went to pick up the necklace (the first time), we learned that the "jeweler" had broken one of the beads. He explained that he didn't know the pearls were synthetic, so he tried to drill the holes in the center to make them larger. First, I have no idea why he would think it is appropriate to make larger holes in genuine pearls. This necklace has been restrung several times in the decades it has been owned by the family, and a jeweler has never had an issue restringing it. Second, the claim slip clearly said the pearls were synthetic. He was totally incompetent by failing to read the slip to know what exactly he was working on. He said he did us a "favor" by replacing the damaged pearl with another bead. The replacement looked awful. It was much smaller than the other pearls and the color was nowhere near the same. We told him we wanted it restrung without the replacement, and he agreed. They gave us the damaged pearl, noted on the claim slip that 65 pearls were being left this time, and we left. My husband went back to pick up the necklace (the second time). He immediately noticed that several of the pearls were able to move back and forth on the string. Typically, when a pearl necklace is restrung, it is VERY tight because it will loosen up over time. This was a very poor job. My husband then counted the pearls and noted that there were only 64 pearls on the string. The staff first tried to convince him that he had miscounted by leaving out the clasp. In no world is the clasp counted as a pearl, but they argued that at first. Then they stated that someone must have miscounted when the necklace was dropped off the first time. He showed a photo he had taken the day he dropped off the necklace the first time, and the staff counted and recounted it. It showed there were definitely 66 pearls at the time the necklace was dropped off. At that point, a tall, bald man (presumably a manager) told my husband that the necklace wasn't worth anything anyway, so he should be lucky he got the re-stringing for free. When I showed up, I also found the bald man to be incredibly rude. He told me that at most the missing pearls were worth $1, and that the sentimental value of the jewelry didn't matter at all. I later met with the owner, Yanko himself. He is a pretty nice guy, but that doesn't make up for the incredibly poor service and unbelievably rude staff. Yanko apologized for the damage, but said nothing could be done (obviously). Bottom line is Yanko Jewelers damaged a priceless family heirloom and the staff tried their very hardest to not take responsibility for that. I beg each and every one of you to avoid giving your business to this poor excuse for a jewelry store. read more

The lady that helped us was great & apologized for the wait. I'm sorry that I didn't get her name. I didn't feel rushed and felt valued, even though I was not spending thousands of dollars. Several years ago, I found out about Yanko Jewelers on the fly, when I first got into Pandora. Since then, almost all my Pandora charms (they have a HUGE selection), a watch, and my daughters' first necklace with cross pendant have come from there. I also replace all of my watch batteries with them and enjoy getting my complimentary Pandora bracelet cleaning every time I stop in. They are truly exceptional. If you're into supporting small business instead of the large chains, look no further. I'm all about supporting local family-owned businesses who are professional and have excellent customer service. Went here for a Mothers' Day present. What a classy establishment. Everyone was so friendly and willing to help. I was so surprised as my experience at jewelry stores usually includes pushy sales people, but not here! I was helped immediately upon entering, told them what I wanted, and was on my way. I only have great things to say about my experience with Yanko Jewelers. I visited the store in my first attempt to find an engagement ring to propose to my girlfriend. Chabely and Ernesto are amazing! They were friendly, attentive, and professional. I truly felt like they honestly wanted me to find the perfect engagement ring. We were all equally involved in the process and that made me feel secure about doing business with them. Not only did they provide me with options, they also provided me with knowledge about diamonds which is something not many jewelry stores do. Been a long time costumer, I showed up 7 min. before the store closed, when I was greeted I immediately apologized for getting there last minute before the store closed and they told me "we are closed, sometimes we do that."
