Worst service. Ever. Duck tales from Naples. Waiter was confrontational, and had a huge attitude and he erupted into a huge confrontation with our group of six. Daniel was his name and he should be fired immediately. We will be speaking to the owners tomorrow. I ordered the duck and Daniel asked what temp I would like it and I said Med Plus. He said the chef prefers to serve it medium. I said okay if i can't get it Med Plus I'm happy to order something else. No worries. Daniel said he would suggest the Duck and if I didn't like it he would get it cooked more very quick okay. I said "are you sure?" He said yes. I said "okay I trust you". All meals arrived and my duck was still bleeding. Ugh. I sent it back as Daniel said I should. Note: in three decades of world-wide fine dining I've only sent back one meal ever. He said it would be only a quick second!!! Fast forward. All five other guests are completely done with their meal. I left to go to the ladies room so they wouldn't feel bad for me. No Duck yet. They finally brought it and i said "no thank you" please send it back. Everyone has finished their meals now. Things escalated into a shouting match between my friends and the rude Daniel. I left to avoid confrontation. He told a guest "I hope you never come back!" As the group was leaving they were chased out with apologies all around. Too late. I found myself in Naples for one night and ended up choosing Hob Nob. I was definitely happy with the decision. I had the Ahi Tuna, which was top notch. The cocktail menu wasn't so well aligned to my personal taste, but I made an off-menu request and they were happy to oblige (and made me a very respectable Mint Julep). If you are looking for a very tasty meal at a nice place without going full-bore "fine dining", I would definitely recommend Hob Nob. read more

This is one of the best restaurants in Naples. The staff is without a doubt the best. The food is as good as any number of place on 5th. I had the shrimp pasta and my wife had the salmon. In both cases we agreed that they were very good but that we have had better. Better meaning only slightly better. It took us a few minutes to think of places that were actually superior. That in itself says a lot. When it came to the service there was no question as to Nob Nob being the best in town. The best part of the meal was desert. I actually LOVE this restaurant- I drive 45 mins to come to HobNob weekly. However, I'm here to give a huge fuck you to Paul for treating me so incredibly disrespectfully that I still can't wrap my mind around it. I had a reservation and when I got there he saw me walk in but was busy assisting other customers- while I patiently waited for my turn to be seated some people come in behind me and when Paul returns he looks completely past me and started helping the people behind me. I gave the befit of the doubt and considered that he didn't realize what he did- so I didn't mind waiting longer for him to help the people.. who came in after me.. until they started to have a whole conversation while I've now been waiting a very RUDE amount of time to simply just be acknowledged. So I politely say "excuse me gentlemen, I don't mean to interrupt but can you have this conversation after we've been seated because we've been waiting" and BOTH Paul and this asshole customer COMPLETELY IGNORE ME- like no eye contact, as if I didn't even exist or like I was invisible. I followed up with asking both of them why I was being ignored and they continued to make no eye contact and ignore me. I left obviously. That was definition of disrespect. That was insane. I called back to cancel my reservation and to ask him why he treated me that way and he literally said "I don't know" and just acted confused and busy as if that makes any sense as to how I deserved not even the slightest acknowledgement. Really loved this place! My friend and I sat up at the bar for happy hour appetizers and wine. Happy Hour prices were fantastic. Our bartender, an older gentleman (I'm really sorry that I didn't catch his name), was hilarious and quite the charmer. He had us and the people seated next to us in stitches. We dined on the Hob Nob chips, which is a sinful combo of crispy bacon, Bleu cheese and truffle essence, as well as the Wild Mushroom pizza with fontina and mozzarella. Both were delicious. To drink, we had the UpperCut Sauvignon Blanc. Had never heard of it before. Super tasty. Added that to my wine shopping list. Was just in town visiting my friend. I joined five women here for an early dinner, and we were instantly accommodated quickly and with great finesse. I appreciate Hob Nob's efforts for seating us at a larger table than needed, particularly in light of our dinner organizer's oversight. She had not given the restaurant a final guest count as promised. But the staff were gracious in the face of this lack of consideration on our groups' part. Yet another minor example of why the restaurant business is tough, tough, tough. The menu was well crafted with a selection of salad, small plates, and regular sized entrees of meat, fish, and pasta that can appeal to a broad swath of public with varied tastes. Nothing over the top. In fact, it was mildly amusing to see home style dishes come to the table. Are memories so short not to recall the fragrance and simplicity of roasted vegetables with chicken? That bird was a huge hit, lauded by three ladies at the table who btw, eat out all the time, and acted as if this was somehow a food benediction never before experienced. I ordered a bowl of orrecchiette pasta which came hidden beneath a blanket of melted cheese, but was crowned with a few plump shrimp. The pasta was cooked beyond al dente, and at $24, seemed to strain the nostalgic pull of returning to a childhood friend's warm cucina. The decor is simple and eclectic with decorative formations on the wall that look like molecules without their particles, a room divider borrowed from 1950's Palm Springs, and clustered, repainted lighting that are an Etsy coup. Above the bar is a simple sign with vanity bulbs that commands, "Drink." I can do that. At happy hour, the house wine is a mere $4 a glass. By 7PM, the house was filling with mostly young people - a refreshing sight, and reassurance that young people in Naples can actually have a place that resonates with them. Hob Nob is a party in a bistro setting that lets conversation quickly elevate the place to Loud. But the positive attribute is this: Youngsters who may have once cut science lab and had mothers who didn't cook, can come there, shell out fat money for home made meals, and "Drink." I love the feel and style of this restaurant. I ordered the special which was locally caught hog fish in a coconut curry sauce. It came with about a 1/4 cup of jasmine rice and julienned carrots and scallion. The presentation was lovely and it was good however I feel like price tag on the meal was a tad high at $34. Service was great. Friendly and helpful staff. I do look forward to coming back and trying something else on the menu. Took my fiancé to my hometown and had to show her 5th ave. I've never tried many of the restaurants and by a friends recommendation, we went to hob nob. The weather was phenomenal and luckily there was outside seating. I highly suggest sitting outside for the holidays. The view is great. The cornbread starter was AMAZING! We almost didn't get it but we were hungry and glad we did. Now here is where it gets good. My filet mignon was put in front of me, and before the server left, he asked me to cut it to make sure it was cooked perfectly. I've never had that happen and I wasn't surprised when it was cooked exactly how I wanted it. That service made me assume everything was going to be great. And it was. I've had steak everywhere and every kind. Portland City Grill was by far my best steak ever. However, Hob Nob has won that title (besides my fiancé's uncle's steak). I was going to try dessert, but with Kilwins across the street, it was hard not to pass. Definitely will revisit to try other menu items. read more

If I could give it zero I would... walked in and the hostess had us seat ourselves. No one gave us menus, after 5 minutes of waiting we had to ASK the hostess where a server was. We were almost convinced we needed to walk up to the bar to order.. A while later a waitress FINALLY greeted us. She didn't know what the single special was and had to read it to us.. there may have been 5 occupied tables in the entire restaurant and 3 waitresses on staff... not busy at all. After putting in our drink orders (which we're not bad but not anything to write home about) she took our orders. Came out pretty quickly. The muscles were great but the calamari was bleh. We were planning on ordering another round of drinks and our dinners but our waitress simply *disappeared*. After waiting far too long we decided we were just going to leave. Still no sign of our waitress.. finally had to ask the hostess where our server was. She came and we instantly paid. I didn't even look at the itemized check bc I wanted to get out of there so badly. A bit pricey $76 for two people for just one round of drinks and two appetizers. After reading the other reviews, we were absolutely not greeted properly. No "muffins" or whatever, we're given to us. It's an awesome location. Conveniently located right in 5th Ave in the bustling downtown if Naples. The decor is awesome with the reclaimed wooden walls and tables, large lit up signs and bright upholstery. It's a very modern, yet Southern vibe! Our server was so knowledgable about the menu, which was really helpful! Food is delicious! It's pricey, but it's worth it for the fresh food and unique pairings. I ordered the Ahi Tuna, which is served raw on top of some delicious crab fried rice and a side of Calamari Seaweed Salad. The sides were amazing and went really well with the ahi tuna! I've had better ahi tuna, but the dish as a whole was quite remarkable. My boyfriend ordered the Sea bass, which was cooked perfectly (dissolved in your mouth) and had perfect seasoning. It was served on top of some delicious coconut rice that complimented the Sea Bass perfectly. My only complaint was that it was served with shredded butternut squash (in between the rice and fish), which was bitter and really ruined the taste for us. This is a fun & chic restaurant in downtown Naples serving modern American. One of the fewer places on 5th that can be classified as trendy. They offer live music at night and therefore cater to a very mixed crowd as opposed to a strictly geriatric one. The menu offers some gastropub options & some classic Naples dinner entree inspirations with little bit of flair. The hanger steak and fries was pretty good and the sweet onions & béarnaise sauce really make the dish. The deviled eggs, yes deviled eggs, are amazing due to the sweet tomato jam & sugared bacon topping that is so good! And the snapper in crazy water with polenta was simply fantastic. Also their complimentary cornbread was very, very good. Not too dry & plenty sweet, came served perfectly warm with whipped butter & is a nice refresher from the usual bread places serve. The restaurant itself is a solid 4/5 stars. However, service is another subject altogether. Our waitresses Kim & Jill started fine by introducing themselves with a smile then came back to take drink orders, but as the night progressed they became more & more absent & unserviceable until we could hardly locate them. Kim took our drink & appetizer order and then pulled a disappearing act on us so I had to stop her walking past our table to add an additional appetizer which at that point would be brought over with dinner. They never brought or offered to bring cornbread to the table & since we couldn't locate them, grabbed an entirely different waitress towards the end of our meals to bring it to us. When dinner was brought over, the two steaks were mixed up which we pointed out to Jill & that comment went completely unacknowledged. It also took 30+ minutes after the entire table was completely done eating to be asked if we wanted dessert. The unanimous answer at that point was no. The icing on the cake was when our table asked to split the check & Kim rolled her eyes. Our table was shocked & made feel highly uncomfortable. We dine out A LOT at a WIDE RANGE of restaurants, yet that was a first. Service experienced was 1.5/5. Overall rating: 2.75/5 Mixed feelings about returning. read more

I understand locations have been open for a certain time during Covid, but the service was insanely disappointing. While being sat outside, we had THREE different servers. There was another couple outside and our first server kept asking them how they were doing while never talking to us. She finally came up to us after the couple next to us left and said "if you need anything, flag me down." Seriously? The bartender had a mask that covered his lack of a beard. If you're going to ask your staff to wear a mask, make sure it covers his whole face! I also walked to the bathroom and saw the staff member who brought our food out with his mask off and playing with it in the kitchen! The lamb we ordered was majority fat, almost unenjoyable. A fun restaurant in very popular downtown. We didn't have a reservation but they were able to get us a seat. The cornbread and honey butter are so yummy - that is enough of a reason to come back. Eight of us were headed to the Gulfshore Playhouse for Wednesday's performance of Holmes & Watson and wanted diner before the performance. Someone suggested the Hob Nob. Excellent choice! We all had the pre-theater diner special. Appetizers, salads and entrees all got rave reviews as did the included glass of house wine. My wife and I were tempted by the carrot cake dessert. Surprise-it included a large scoop of ice cream. We parked in the 5th Avenue garage and were able to walk to the theater after diner. A great evening. Thank you Hob Nob! read more

Great food! We came here to celebrate a birthday. We started with the charcuterie. The goat cheese was our favorite, but they were all good. They all went well the fig jam and honey. I had the snapper in crazy water which was one of the best meals I had the whole time I was here. The polenta went great with it. We have been going to HobNob quite a few times over the last 5yrs. We went in on a busy Friday night . They only had 1 bartender, and he had selected hearing . We had to order water 3 times to go with our meal before we finally got it. We had the corn and crab chowder which wasn't very good. Yet the bartender didn't even notice that we hardly touched it. We also had the octopus and white beans app. Honestly I couldn't tell if it was octopus or chicken. If it was octopus it must have come out of a can!
