This is a fine outlet of Hobby Lobby, with plenty of parking and a very clean store. Like all outlets right now, there are a few holes in the inventory due to the supply chain issues affecting most of the country. However they still carry the same offerings of merchandise as other outlets. I particularly like the fact that they carry the imported Marella brand of pasta - hey, cooking counts as a hobby! Only caution I can add here is that the store's in a slightly seedy location. Perhaps be careful and aware of your situation if coming to shop after dark. read more

The Hobby lobby at this location has been here for quite a number of years and has a few neighbors worth mentioning. NTB tires, Grainger and Planet Fitness exist on either side of this store. The store is very well laid out and merchandised. Needless to say this store has absolutely everything that is art and craft related under one roof. They have a great framing department which is reasonably priced along with a large fabric department. Make sure to look for their monthly ad posted by the entrance and also keep in mind that they are always closed on Sunday. read more

I was here to find a specific item. Finally was able to locate it. Went to the front of the store to get in line to pay. There was some issue in that line at the register. So I moved to a different line. I was in that line for quite a while. Then I'm the next one in line to get to the register and a lady wheels her cart over from the first line the one that had the issue at the register and cut right in front of me. I said no ma'am and I went and stood in front of her. She then proceeds to create a fairly embarrassing and loud scene. There were no managers around there was no one directing traffic in the line (such as they do at the HEB) there was no order at all and it was very embarrassing. I was grateful to get out without having been assaulted by this out of control woman. I'm chagrined that there wasn't better management in the store. read more

I used to like Hobby Lobby until recently. A few months ago they sold me a custom wood frame for a valuable painting I own. The wood frame was shipped in from Spain. They do not inspect the wood or frames properly before they give it to the owners. A month later I noticed a lot of wood shavings on the floor below the painting. It was infested with Powderpost beetles!!!! You can research about them but they are basically like termites but worse and can fly and can live in wood for a long time. By the time I noticed the frame was beyond damaged. Fortunately for me they did not damage my painting. I presented this issue to Hobby Lobby. Their solution......they offered a 10% discount on a replacement frame. Are you kidding me!!! They sold me an infected product and could have infected my whole house and all they could do was offer 10%. I had to pay a pest company $200 just to spray the frame. Recently I noticed an antique and valuable hutch of mine is now infected as well. I've had to call in an expert. This will cost another $200 just to have this hutch sprayed down. I will also plan on having the whole house fumigated. People, if you have ordered a frame from them check them please. I don't want the same thing to happen to you. I end up going here at least once a month, from getting beads for my better halfs hobby or a can of spray paint. material for curtains or the like, yarn for knitting. Its all here and its usually inexpensive. They have a huge section of treasure chests that I love, I wish I could buy a few dozen and hide them all over town lol. There is artwork, and vases and nick nacks galore also, not thinks I would get but some good stuff. Pat the old lady that does returns is so snappy and rude. I avoid this location because of her.

For the most part they started out having great products and then not so much its a hit or miss most of the time. And when they realize that you have turned your hobby into a full blown business, they get a bit ugly about that. If they have any dies they have no machines that work with that. And they only really carry their brand I was looking for Anna Griffin cardstock and their cardstock in the pads were on sale that day and hers was there for half off but because it was Anna Griffin the lady behind the counter charged me full price. There was no exclusion listed anywhere so I left paid the full price and came back the next day got a different checker paid half price found the first woman and she just glared at me. I love their ethics and their religious beliefs more of that is needed in this world. read more

It's a hit or miss with this location, but I find mostly misses lately. I was reminded of why I gave up making returns to this store when I recently brought some items back, and it turned into a 15 minute ordeal because everything is done manually. (Tip: I recommend choosing a younger associate for your returns). The staff can be extremely friendly though, although, they seem to be fairly scarce on the floor, especially when you are lost. I recommended always going online to get your 40% one item coupon, and hitting up the after-holiday sale, when they start a few days before the actual holiday. I went in a few weeks ago. I was using a cane and walking with a cast/boot on my foot and all the way up to my knee (so I hobble quite a bit). I ended up walking all over the store and not one person asked me if I needed help. I approached one employee when I first walked in to ask where something was and I know she saw my cane and boot. I ended up walking back upfront to get a cart and there were none available. I had an arm full of artificial flowers. I stood there looking around and trying to get help or at least make eye contact with someone. I decided to wait a few minutes to see if someone would return a cart. After a bit I saw an employee bringing up a cart. She never looked up at me (she was looking at her phone) and I was standing right next to where the carts go. She walked right past me with my cane and boot and arms full of stuff and put it in the area where the carts go (which has a ledge and it was harder it get it out of for me). She never once acknowledged my existence much less offered help. I got the basket but I was so tired by then I ended up just putting the flowers back and didn't get any of them. I did have some other items I purchased. The line was pretty long and took a while. I almost left those items as well. Super disappointed at the lack of customer service. read more

But yeah, uh, a cursory search on the ole interwebs will tell you all about the politics of Hobby Lobby ownership. They supposedly donated a million dollars to Falwell ministries. I'm not here to proselytize, I'm just saying that it's not my bag to support those kinds of endeavors. Hobby Lobby's values just aren't in line with mine, and therefor I try really hard not to give them my dollars. The service here is mostly deplorable and fleeting, but the obscene A.C. can provide serious respite during summertime. Also the random sales around the store are a redeeming factor. This place is like a museum of all things Tacky-texan. It's like Amy Sedaris' "I Like You" meets crazy church lady. Here are the goods: - Enough pink zebra decor to cover every 13-year old girl's bedroom, statewide. - Any and every way to craft for Jesus - Giant wagon wheel benches (perhaps made from all those abandoned conestogas in China) - Christmas creep so bad, you can't tell the difference between the after Christmas sale and the next season's presale. - An endless supply of "Happy Birthday Jesus" decor. - Chess pieces that are larger than a cat. And it's not like it's one of those fun sets for your garden. I'm pretty sure these are for collecting dust next to your LCD TV. - Wooden signs that say "Girls Night Out," "Diva," "Friendship," hand-painted by Chinese slaves. - Lots of brown and gold items to match your "italian villa" Cedar Park McMansion. - Mosaic goblet / candleholders, usually with a brownish tint. But don't get me wrong, it's not a total wasteland. In between the garbage, there are some decent things, like colored paper plates, fabric, and some colored art papers. I usually get good deals on Halloween costume supplies. Also, everything appears to be on sale. But don't be too excited, it's classic mark-up mark-down. If you look on the tags, most items are specially made for the crafting empire. It's also closed on Sundays, because nothing makes God angrier than those who macrame on his day of rest. I fancy myself a crafter (knitting, wood work, baking) and while Hobby Lobby does have a fine assortment of yarn and fabric, the overwhelming amount of crap in that place is just too extra for me. It shouldn't be called Hobby Lobby, but instead Holy Moly There's a Lot of Useless Nonsense in Here Lobby. There's just too much to stomach and it makes shopping for actual crafting stuff hard. The store is so clean and they consistently make beautiful displays. Plus! Here is a place you can take the whole family shopping and inspire creativity in all walks of life. From fabric needs, to model kits, to furniture, you can get lost in any sort of project. The aisles are arranged in soimewhat of a maze, perhaps nto as bad as central Markup, but the tall shelves do obscure everyhting. I spent 2 hours last time I was there. Hobby lobby is one of the few place you can purchase a whole new lifestyle and gain membership in so many different subcultures, whterh model trains or rockets or airplanes, or sewing circles. This Hobby Lobby has to be the biggest one that I've ever visited, but then again, everything's bigger in Texas. However, bigger doesn't necessarily mean better. It seemed to have everything that every other Hobby Lobby has, with the exception of cheap decorative stuff, which took up the majority of the extra space. The employees were not particularly helpful - even when they knew where something was, they did a poor job of explaining it and couldn't be bothered to take me to what I needed. Luckily my husband was with us and I quickly traded with him for my son to try the urinal for the first time. The women's bathroom was filthy. None, yes none, were clean or available for use. I've never seen anything so dirty. There is one older lady cashier that I avoid. She is so rude. One time I tried to swipe my card while she was scanning me and she spoke to me very degrading telling me to wait. How was I supposed to know. Each store is different. I came in to this location to purchase some additional fabric for a project I'm working on. I had a swatch from my previous purchase here. It was nowhere to be found so I asked the employee that works in this department if she could help me find it. First she told me that they don't sell that particular fabric. When I told her I had purchased it in this store she told me I didn't. "I order all of the fabric here". She suggested I go to JoAnn Fabric because that is where I made my original purchase. Giselle was very rude when I came in to pick up my rain check item. She noticed that I observed her being rude and so then she became very condescending with all the other customers after me that were in ear shot, making comments like well I'm very happy to work here and be here, ext. After having heard enough I decided to walk around nearby. She had already made three different calls to the back requesting my item be brought to the front, it took at least 20 minutes just to get for small paper mache pumpkins to the front. I was in no rush but she made it seem like I was just in the way and she made me feel very unwelcome. I don't know what upset her but it was clear she was annoyed. Horrible experience. Then after hearing my fiance's name called over the PA she handed me the rain check receipt and began to scold me because according to her I was paged more than once. This place is where all of those people who failed at providing good customer service elsewhere come to die, apparently. This place by far has the WORST customer service out of any retail store. I will make it a point to never return here because I felt so icky walking out of this place. Exhibit A: We came here to get some mats cut. When we were talking to Henry in the back about getting said mats cut, he said that he could cut one of them today, as one mat doesn't take very long at all to cut, but 3 mats? Nope, we'd have to come back in a couple of weeks for the other two. When I asked Henry why 1 takes a couple of minutes, but 3 takes 2 weeks, he proceeded to just repeat the same thing over and over again but never answering my question. He'd start his sentences off saying things like "I'm not trying to be rude, but..." which always goes over well, as you know. In the end, he somehow magically turned 2 weeks into 15 mins and was able to get all 3 of our mats cut, even though we said we could come back later for the other 2. When gathering the completed mats from him, he said "This is a once in a lifetime opportunity, next time order in advance". ONCE IN A LIFETIME OPPORTUNITY to get 3 mats cut. Listen people, I consider myself to be a VERY lucky person to have had this opportunity in my life. Apparently, I will never get 3 mats cut within 1 day EVER AGAIN, though. That is sad. Exhibit B: As most places I step into, I never leave with just the items I came into the store to buy. When I saw they were having a 50% fabric sale, I had to get some. I was waiting a good 10 minutes at the fabric cutting counter, with nobody in sight. I repeatedly rang the bell that says "Ring for Service" (should read "Ring for Shitty Service") and... nothing. As I was pulling out my phone to call the store to alert someone that this area is completely unattended, a girl came around the corner to cut my fabric. Did she apologize for her extended absence and my extremely long wait? Yes, she did. Just kidding, of course she didn't. Exhibit C: Checking out. Oh, checking out. The cashier was full of "I hate my job". It was written all over her face. She never once smiled. Never once said "Thank you" or anything. At the end of the transaction, she handed me my bag and I said "Thank you" to her and... nothing. And then I said (very sarcastically) "You're welcome! Have a great day" and of course she just stared with her dead eyes and still said nothing. Ugh. This place is AWFUL! I will avoid this place like the customer service plague it is infected with.
