Sad time at Hobby Lobby! I was in a time crunch and needed yellow ribbon. I don't usually ask employees to help (I don't want to bug y'all!) and this is exactly why. I asked the first employee if she could point me in the direction of ribbon and specified what I needed. She half-heartedly lifted an arm and told me to look "that way" gesturing to the other side of the store. Irritated and more panicked, I sped walked over towards the other side, still just as lost. Hurrah! I see another employee. I tell her my yellow ribbon plea. I'm sure she could see the life leave my eyes as she too, looked at me with a bored and annoyed look and flung her arm forwards "uh...I'd look over there." 2 people and neither was able to help me at all! I wish the employees here would dedicate 2 more minutes of their time to helping us commonfolk who don't know the layout of your store. read more

For the life of me I don't know why I keep going back here! The ladies in the fabric department are beyond rude. After my latest experience there , I will never go back! There is this blonde lady cutting fabric that seems like she just hate her job. She never had a smile on her face and she is short and snappy when you ask her for help. I own my own business and buy about $200.00 worth of fabric every time I go in. They alway complain and make me feel unwanted when I bring about 10 or more bundles up. When I'm spending this much on fabric for my business, I expect to be treated well! I'm done with Hobby Lobby and will be taking my business else where! read more

Walked in this store after I got my nails done because I needed something to do but I was planning on buying stuff because I needed some paint. As a black women I am used to being followed around stores but this experience was insane. Everywhere I turned a worker was following me too closely and then running away when I turned around. My mom ended up meeting me there so we could spend more money. A very rude lady popped up out of nowhere to make sure we weren't stealing and when we tried to ask her for help she was rude and literally just walked away. And then conveniently a worker had to go outside, stand by our car and wait to go back inside until we drove off. A very rude disrespectful experience and I won't be returning to this location read more

Only go here if you have ALL day to find what your looking for. Store is HUGE and Nothing is marked with signs on or around isles...restroom again no signs pointing in right direction...and staff is not helpful at all. If you do have all day the store could prob be fun, they have everything. read more

Hobby Lobby - It's still JULY!!! - Art Supplies Near Me - Chandler, Arizona

I went in looking for some fabric and after selecting one I loved, although a bit pricey, I asked for it to be cut to my desired length. The employee repeated the number for confirmation and then began cutting. It wasn't until I was home that I realized I was an entire foot short! I called and was told to bring in my receipt and item for a recut. I did so however they were unable to simply exchange my pieces. I was forced to pay the difference, a small amount, however with the additional travel time I expected more out of the management. read more

Oh oh, first to rate this place. Ok, so here it goes. Isn't there already a Michaels less than a mile away? I thought this place would be different. Maybe less "crafty" and more hobbies...making stuff from scratch. Where men can buy a band saw and wood. And where there aren't 15 aisles of fake and/or dried flowers for flower arrangements (I didn't realize that was so popular, whatever happened to gardening...real flowers???). Don't take me wrong. I like craft stores. In my spare time (ehem, never) I like to make jewelry, knit, make paper decorations. But there's already plenty of stores that offer supplies. And for half the price. Sorry, I had to bring it up...Hobby Lobby, you are expensive. I was about to walk out with some pretty paper to make Christmas decorations and decided to put it away at the last minute. An hour later I bought the same paper at Walmart for 1/2 the price. It's paper, why the price difference? My husband didn't get the store either...he thinks the store should offer you supplies to build stuff and go with your imagination, not offer pre-fab stuff for you to "color" so that we all end up with the same decorations in our houses. I think he was hoping for rocket-building kits or something like that. It was definitely more of a girly store...what with it's 15 flower aisles. read more

I was actually looking for Michael's & came across Hobby Lobby. Decided, "What the hell? A craft store is indeed a craft store, right?" I walked in wanting a pen & maybe some stickers. I walked all over the store & couldn't find what I wanted. I was already looking up where Michael's was on Yelp! in relation to where I was. Voila! A whole separate area. This store is huge! I went down the ramp & saw the pens. Perfect! Exactly what I wanted. I didn't want to search for areas anymore, so I asked where the stickers were. I was probably in Hobby Lobby for over an hour & a half looking at millions of stickers. $150 later... mind you, the stickers that I got were $1.49-2.99 a piece, so a lot of stickers later. I am pleased w| my purchase & all my options. Thank you, Hobby Lobby, for feeding my weird obsession w| pens & stickers. LOL! read more

So, I had never been to a Hobby Lobby before. I have been to Michael's and Jo Ann's in the past when it came to arts and crafts type stores. This place was those two stores combined. It was interesting how they just happened to have a wider range of things that seems like you would only have to stop at one place instead of having to travel to many to get the items you are searching for. I think the prices here are much better than Michael's, much bigger selection too. I was pretty shocked when I found that an equivalent package of colored tissue paper was 99 cents at Hobby Lobby and $2.99 at Michael's (yeesh!). But, at the same time, the wait at the register is super long. The last two times I was here I was 4th in line and there was only 1 register open. The cashier was waiting for a price check or supervisor approval or something so just sat and waited for help while his line of customers continued to grow. read more

Had never been in Hobby Lobby and decided to give it a try one night. I walked in the door at 7:50 and had 2 cashiers and what looked like a Mgr. yelling at me "We close at 8!!!!!" Recently, I bought a Christmas tree and he happily wheeled it to my car, and placed it in my trunk cautiously, avoiding getting any scrapes or dust from the box on my interior. Great job William! I think this was my last visit here. The main problem, in my opinion, is that employees are keying in the merchandise manually - therefore every single time I have visited there has been a problem. My first visit, I was charged 15.99 for an item that cost 1.59. I had to return the entire bag of items so they could trace through one by one - because the stuff is not "scan-able." When the cashier returned my items and keyed them in again, she discovered a sale item that I had not received the sale price for. I should not have to visit the store twice for one purchase - who has time for that?! I often find things next to the sale sign, only to find out that the item "is not part of the sale." That is beyond frustrating. I have to watch the cashier very closely to make sure the sale prices are showing up correctly, because they are often not - including the glass jars I purchased last Friday. The cashier was not happy with me questioning her, but I was correct. They were supposed to be 50% off and they were ringing up (manually) at full price. She assured me that the computer would take off the discount, but it did not. I think I will stick to the other hobby shops in the area. read more

This place was great! It was a lot larger than I thought it would be. I was looking for 'wax sand' to make colorful candles with. I've always thought of Hobby Lobby as the kind of place you go for model rocket parts or something so I went to Michael's first. Their wax selection stank. So I came to Hobby Lobby and they had exactly what I was looking for! They had the wax sand in a bunch of colors (some colors weren't as bright as I was hoping for, but over all a good selection) and it was a lot cheaper than I thought it would be. Michael's was asking $7 for a bag of white wax half the size of the colored wax I got here for $3! I was able to get twice as much as I thought I was going to! My roommate's kids are going to love doing this project! read more

My husband and I wanted to get our friends a unique gift and a special memory for their wedding present. We took our friends to a Sun's Basketball game to celebrate their engagement and took pictures and had the jumbo-tron wish them congratulations. We wanted to have a custom frame done, but know how expensive it is, and were on a budget and time crunch as well. We went to the Chandler Hobby Lobby, on Chandler Blvd. to see what our options were. Paula an employee at that Hobby Lobby was amazing, she help us find a ready made frame and gave us some options on how to make it custom with new Mattes. We also wanted a custom plate put in there, which we did not have time to order thru hobby lobby. We asked if we could get one made somewhere else could she include that? Which we did. We picked up our frame last night and WOW! it looks better then we could have imagined, can't wait to give our gift to our friends! Thanks to Paula and her skill and understanding she was able to save us money, time and make the process enjoyable. read more

I had 2 of my paintings framed and matted and although it is pricy, the pride they take in making sure your satisfied overall makes up for it and I just won't go anywhere else but hobby lobby for all my framing. I love hobby lobby. I love the selection and how big it is. I could spend all day in there. I dont ever ask anybody for help and the cashiers are usually nice. But there is one employee in the drawing/paint/pen section that is incredibly rude and unwelcoming. I understand having a child going through aisles and messing things up can be frustrating so I do everything I can to keep my child from doing that. The first time I encountered him he very rudely came up to me and my daughter with an attitude and said "do you know how long it takes to fix these, hours" and walked off. She had only pushed back a small section of paints which we easily fixed (took 2 seconds) before we left the aisle. Every time I see him I feel very unwelcome. I've worked retail before so like I said I understand the frustration but it's still your job to be professional. Not a very good representation of hobby lobby. read more

Seriously the worst customer service EVER. This was my first time in Hobby Lobby. I saw a wall decor piece with these hooks to hang your coffee mugs and it was $30. After purchasing it, I noticed one of the hooks was completely loose. I walked back into the store, was not greeted by the "customer service manager". I walked to the area where I got my sign and I saw another one but that one was worse. It was missing a hook. I walk up to the register and explain to the cashier that I want to return the item because the hook is loose and after explaining to her that the other one I saw was broken she just stared at me. I asked her to see if another Hobby Lobby had one and she just stared at me and looked like she didn't want to do it. She called the customer service manager and she looked like she didn't want to do it either. AFTER EVERYTHING they didn't even apologize. They made it seem like I was inconveniencing them. If this is how you treat your customers then I never want to shop there again. OVERALL, they do not know how to treat their paying customers and are really lazy. Never again. read more

I patronized this Hobby Lobby because I had a Dr. appt approximately a mile away. I purchased 21 items, the line backed up a bit because of course everything is hand entered no scanning. When I was told my total I thought it was more than I anticipated, but because a line had grown and a additional clerk had just come to help I didn't question it. As I unloaded all my bags at home I decided to check my receipt and noticed I was charged two items at $32.50 each. All but one of my items were clearance. Because nothing is itemized everything in home decor is given the same number so it's impossible to determine where or what item had the mistake. I called and was told I had to bring every single item back. I live 10 miles from this location, 10 miles back, my gas and time, it disturbed the rest of my days schedule. Michelle the customer service rep found two items that were $3.25 and I was charged $32.50 twice and owed a $63 refund. Very disappointed in the -mistakes can be made -excuse, no compensation for my time and inconvenience, cost of gas. Victoria B. needs to call for help if she felt pressure to hurry. Hobby Lobby needs to update their archaic system. The item was two beach metal signs, I could have taken just those items in. 10 items, eight completely different items but listed as 106000000 home decor on each one.
