It's been quite awhile since I've ventured into a Hobby Lobby but following the recent viral giant friendship bracelet charm trend, I thought I'd take a peek. That peek turned into a full hour of discovery. Why didn't anyone tell me that Hobby Lobby carries a little bit of everything. Seriously. Full length mirrors, they've got it. Aerobic stepper and dumbbells, they've got it. Teacher materials, southern coded firearm merch, dog toys, Christian merch, and velvet hangers, they've got it. However, the one thing they did not "got" was the thing I came in for- giant friendship bracelet charms. Although the trip was not what I expected, team members were ample, and I developed a new desire to add wood burning to my list of skills because yes, you apparently can in fact buy a creative wood burner tool for 64.99. Anyways, if it's been awhile, give yourself time to visit, explore, and enjoy. You'll need it! read more

I stand by how I feel about crafts but my love for Hobby Lobby isn't there anymore. I've had a few bad experiences with this store regarding returns. Listen, you should accept my return with the same energy you have while taking my money! It must be in the Hobby Lobby employee manual to block returns any way possible. I've purchased items that turned out defective and the return needs 3 managers to give me as little as $5 back. Like, for real? Especially when I spend a grip in here regularly. First of all the parking lot is a small mess not a lot of parking a huge hole in the middle as they're drilling. As you walk in the cool air greets me as well as gorgeous furniture. That is the only thing that greeted me, the employees looked me up and down and didn't say a word to me they were too busy talking about family problems. One employee did say welcome to big lots to the woman after me though. The man cleaning out the summer stuff so he could replace it with Christmas was insanely loud they should be doing this stuff at night not during the day when people are shopping. I was actually shopping for silver Christmas ornaments but I grabbed two and left because I couldn't stand the noise. The lady that rang me up however was very nice and answered my questions when all of the Christmas items will be out and she said September. I just moved to cypress and I am glad that we have a hobby lobby so close but I wish y'all would take care of your parking situation because that is what would keep me from coming back as I went to the one in spring every other week. read more

I came in to find fabric to match a swatch I had with me, the first person I walked up to barely turned her back to me, answered my question and didn't even offer to help me find what she described to me. She didn't smile, and she was rude. Meanwhile there was one lady helping all of the customers and another standing talking to someone about family business including vaccines for about 25 minutes. Finally, she stops talking helps one customer and I walk up to ask a question and she yells to another colleague "I'm supposed to be off by two". I'm a nurse, I would NEVER say that to another nurse in front of a patient there's plenty of times where I've stayed over and never even mentioned it to the patient because my job is to HELP. Horrible impression, horrible service, absolutely do not recommend going here. read more

I just went to make a return and because the cashier could not find some of the items on the receipt, the manager, Marilyn, came over and said since it was purchased at another Hobby Lobby; there is no way to VIEW THE CAMERA!!!! When I asked what she meant, she replied, "Oh, to see what the cashier did." RIGHT!! All of the items were purchased on Christmas Eve together. Everything was still wrapped and in the original bags. I explained that the cashier typed the items in because 2 were not ringing up at the sale price. She kept telling me that it was decor not crafts. It was typed in as crafts so the customer focused people at the Fry road location could give me the advertised price. They have everything you could think of here. Some items have good prices and other items prices are so high it makes no sense. Still, a wide variety of things to choose from. But once you're ready to check out, the lines are extremely long and you have to wait forever. I only had a few items I wanted to purchase but when I went to check out I saw that only 2 registers were open and there were lines going all the way back into the aisles including the return/customer service line. It was about a 15-20 minute wait. Multiple employees walking around the store none of them know how to work a register? The manager was just standing at the front just watching the whole thing. I will always have a love for crafts and everything in this store, which is why I always come back. Unfortunately, besides that I completely understand why "we" as people do our shopping online. Not only is there only two lanes open at all times. They're extremely behind with there cash registers and how they input products and discounts. You're not able to keep up with what they're inputting and they rely on the ad or just the assumption of the cashier. Now as for the returns they will make sure that all returns can be seen on the camera. I'm fine with that but to make a scene and grab numerous managers to see if one item was inputted correctly is ridiculous. The way they make you feel for returning a product is absurd as well. I honest to god have had products rung up before twice and didn't want to make the return back. Recently, I went back due to having to get something as well as return product I didn't use. They got two managers, two employees, and the employee ringing me up. They sent to managers to the back to view the cameras. I had made an honest mistake and realized the product was just mislabeled, but mind you they rang up a product at a higher price on my receipt but didn't offer to fix that. Not only that an item I didn't use didn't have the top of the product, and I was told it wasn't returnable. While one manager was understanding and helpful, the Hispanic woman was rude, unprofessional, and just took it too personal. I'll continue to pick up things for the moment when needed, but I'll start doing my purchases online. It's just unnecessary drama when returning items. I went to return an item and the Manager Cassie was extremely rude. They asked for my DL, I showed my temporary DL and they wouldnt accept it since it had to be the plastic DL. I showed the email from the DPS as well as the temp license and she wouldnt accept it. I love that they always have something on sale. This is my go to place for picture frames since they are usually 50% off. Thanksgiving is already out and I think they are slowly putting Christmas out! The lines can get long but they always open a register and at least try to get people out quickly. read more

Waited 25 min in line for a return. Was told by the customer service manager that I needed to wait and that there was only one register that could do returns. They left something out of my bag. I called as soon as I realized when I got home. Person on the phone acted like they would just take care of me when ever I come back. I had to ask them to take my name down... so I gave it several times. Then when I go in today to get my money back for that item I no longer need, I had to wait forever because no one wrote down my name and apparently they went looked at the camera to make sure I was being honest about my two dollar and change item. Let me start by saying that my kids and I love Hobby Lobby. We have spent more money on this store than we should have. However, yesterday was the first time that I've had to return something. The clerk was very helpful and friendly. But, when she called the manager on site (I believe that her name is Olivia G.), she was immediately irritated with my return. She asked me very rudely why I was returning the item, and interrupted me to tell someone next to her that a lot of people have been returning the same item and she was annoyed. She then started to issue me a store card for credit. I stopped her to say that I would prefer to be refunded by my original method of payment. She then insisted multiple times that she couldn't do that, and that store credit was the only choice. Their return policy clearly states that that is not true, as I had the original receipt and all my items were there and intact. I have also worked in retail and understand that not to be true. But, instead of continuing the argument I left the store with my store credit. I will not be returning to this location to use that card, and I definitely feel very differently about this store. We are already going through tough times, the least you can do is have friendly, honest, and helpful customer service as we customers are supporting your location... shameful. read more

Went to return an item without a receipt. The manager wouldn't accept my "paper" I.D I just got from DPS. He said they have to have a plastic I.D. Then I showed my old one that was Not expired but cut. He wouldn't take that either. My paper form is a valid ID and he could give me no other reason why I couldn't return with either or those. Great prices on things, but my two experiences bring it down hill from there. Specifically the framing section in the back where two of the employees I encountered seemed to amaze me in a very negative way. Three weeks ago I went to place an order for two diploma frames for two of the exact same degrees (dimensions). One frame would be for mine which would already be in my possession and the second frame would be for my brother who would be graduating later that week and receiving his. I told the lady I needed to order two exact same frames and mats and that I would leave mine with them to be framed and bring the second later once it was received from my brother. The idea of simply placing an order for two exact frames really Seemed to blow her mind and took about 20 minutes to get her to comprehend and right down he proper order. Three weeks later I return to pick up both frames which would include one with my diploma already framed and a second empty frame which I had brought the diploma for. It took much confusion before this lady could find the second frame. I then provided her with the diploma to be placed in the frame to which she stated "oh there is not enough of me to do it now," even though she wasn't doing anything. She then stated I could come back tomorrow. I partially understand at first since I assumed the back of the frame had screws, bolts, and a combo lock before you could get to it (sarcastic). I did it myself in two minutes perfectly and still got charged for the placement fee. That was an incredible experience. read more

Christmas everywhere! I love this store all year long, but especially at Christmas. This isn't my normal Hobby Lobby, I usually go to the one off I-10 and Gessner. But was in Cypress and was in the mood to make a wreath. Then decided Naw, that's too much work. So I went to browse the Christmas section. The stuff was well organized, the isles were clear and in good order of what you wanted to look at. This store was semi crowded but it was a rainy Saturday, who doesn't want to do crafts when it's raining. The lines weren't outrageously long, and they had quite a few registers open and then people in the isles to help you out. Which tells me they are well staffed and I appreciate that. The only problem I have with this location, was the bathrooms. I had to go while I was at the store and they were not kept up well and did not smell good at all. If you can get that fixed, then you'll be golden! read more

Great prices !!! I love everything they have. However the EMPLOYEES are TERRIBLE!!! Not friendly at all! Not helpful. Rude! I buy at least $100 every month at Hobby Lobby. Today I had some returns to do but also more shopping with them . How much fun is any Hobby Lobby! I love the brightness of the store, the displays. This place is a gold mine. You can find everything from crafts to home decor here. We had a girls shopping day and went for Christmas items. Ooooh my gosh! I was so excited I dreamed about it the night before! I found the perfect and I do mean perfect pair of boots for my Christmas tree. The cutest little boot ornament for my Diva Tree, which consist of purses and shoes. I also found cute boxes for under the tree. Yea that whole gift wrapping thing is over-rated for me. I like the cute little boxes with NOTHING in them under the tree. I know they are on the news for some controversial stuff, but this review is based purely on their selection of items. I love this place. I wished that they were open on Sunday, but say what...I can handle that. I love their 40% off e-coupons that I pull out of my smart phone and on top of that they also have sales on some of the things I love to buy like journals. They are better in my books than Michael for a few reasons: - larger selection of house decor and textiles - larger selection of crafts - more sales that are not necessarily seasonal Now the cons - closed on Sunday - archaic cashing system - no scanning (at my location) but the cashiers pretty much type stuff in - kinda weird. read more

I love hobby lobby but the manager Tony here is by far the rudest and most unpleasant person. Shame on you if you walk in during the last half hour of the store being open. He shut off the lights at exactly 8PM (with customers still in the store) and stood directly in the door that you walk in/out tapping his foot with arms crossed waiting for people to leave. Upon any customers walking out, not a "thank you", "have a good night", nothing. Where's your superb customer service tony? I had four vintage photos from the 50s framed from this stores custom framing department. They gave me a two week completion date and finished a few days early! Upon picking them up, they had everything double wrapped (it was practically flooding outside, so they didn't want the frames to get wet) and offered to carry them to my truck since I was holding my baby. When I got home and unwrapped the four frames, I noticed one of the frames had a small nick (it appeared that the finishing was coming off). I called the store and they were super apologetic and told me to return the frame and they would fix it immediately (and free of course). They ended up having to order a new frame and gave me another two week completion date. Once again, they finished sooner than expected. When I went to pick up the fixed frame, they continued to apologize, showed me the new frame, and told me to call if I had any other issues! I am very happy with their work... I have had frames made here before... and I am very pleased with their customer service and how they fixed a problem with NO question. read more

I like this location because they always carry new items a little quicker than other locations. The scrapbook aisles are neat and organized. I know exactly where everything is and I just go in and out. They have such a huge variety of items that I can choose from. I always walk in and have to buy something when I leave. Love this store! As you can imagine, anything and most of everything you will need for crafts or even design is all in one store. I could spend an entire afternoon here just looking at everything they have. My only concern is fitting their tiny basket down an isle that someone is already in but besides that, I don't mind walking around to get to where I need. My main complaint is with the (lack of) customer service. I had purchased a decorative item and after coming home I noticed a defect in the item. I went back to exchange it on the same day. First, they had only one counter at which one could exchange/return. While I was waiting in the line, the manager came up to me and asked me why I wanted to return the item. I explained to him what the problem was and his first reaction was ' nah ah'. He then accused me of damaging the item. I told him politely that I just took the item home, noticed some thing wrong with it and brought it back immediately. He just shook his head and acted as if he was doing me a favor by allowing me to exchange it. The only reason I put up with his attitude was because my wife and I really liked the piece. Otherwise, I would have just returned it. I will never return to this particular Hobby Lobby again. Other stores of Hobby Lobby may be good but I am not willing to take a chance on them. Hobby Lobby has lost a customer for ever. I am happy spending my money at Garden Ridge, Michael's, Ross, or Home Goods. read more
