Ok first, this place is really disorganized. That said you can still find everything you need if you have some tome to search. I can always find cool stuff for baking and decorating sweets. This store used to have some great customer service. We went to check out only to discover we had a cashier who had a horrible attitude. 'Vivian' couldn't be bothered to acknowledge our presence or say hello and acted like we were wasting her time. Towards the end of the transaction, she was careless with one of the bags and turned her back to us to carry on a conversation with another employee. She really left a bad impression because customer service should be welcoming and she definitely did not show that. We have always had very friendly cashiers and positive experiences at this location but ughhh bad attitudes do not work well in retail. read more

This is a very small store with few choices. I had to settle for a wicker basket that really didn't suit my needs, but it was all that was available. And its not like I was searching for something rare--I just needed a medium sized basket. The check out lines were horrendously long and only two checkers were working. My poor cashier was new and was struggling to do things in a timely manner but with approximately 10-15 people grumbling behind me it was difficult as the pressure was on. Reading other reviews leads me to believe this is a continual problem that remains unaddressed by management. read more

This is a fabulous Hobby Lobby. It's clean and new. They have nice quality artificial flowers, lots of reasonably priced decor, plenty of scrapbooking needs, quilting and decorator fabrics, art supplies, a limited supply of baking needs (candy, cake decorating, cookie making) and other general craft products. I really like this store. It's much nicer than the one on North Fry, but I actually like that one too! read more

Preface: I hate shopping. I hate messy stores. I typically HATE craft stores like this. Good: This place is so well managed. Everything is clean, spacious, organized. Service - the framing department is amazing. I wanted something matted and framed and it was done immediately. The employee was courteous, offered suggestions....it was refreshing. Great place for pinterest projects, framing, fake flowers that look unbelievably real. Bad: I imagine this place would be wretched on a Saturday. I suggest going when they are closing on a weekday. I loathe coming into this store! the only reason i do, is because aside from this store our only option is michales.. first off, the lines at this place are ridiculous! there are so many lines, and usually only 2 people working. the prices are so outrageous and its more like they are trying to be a good homes, or kirklands than a hobby store. i would much rather drive up to I 10 to Joanns than to come here. what is nice about this store though is that they are close, and in the neighborhood... so when i am in a hurry and need something like a special glue, paper, i run here, but really every time i come here with an idea of what i am looking for, they dont have it. their fabric department is usually pretty scarce and again, have really high prices. read more

This store's manager, Shamika, is the best. THE best. I was bringing my bags to the car when I accidentally dropped one containing a cookie jar. It was bound to happen... The cashier had placed it in a paper bag with no handles. Distraught over the incident, I rushed back inside the store to let the manager know, and she immediately assisted me. Ahhhh Hoppy Lobby. A wonderful smorgasbord of arts and crafts for all the entrepreneur's, small businesses, and crafty moms, dad's, children & grandparents. This place is suitable for anyone with a crafty type imagination that can turn what the love and do as a hobby into a business. Why do I love Hobby Lobby? Because it's freakin awesome!! And has everything a gal needs to accomplish a creative masterpiece. The atmosphere is happy when you walk threw the doors. It smells nice, very clean and employees are always helpful and knowledgeable if you need help they can assist you. The hours are great. They do close on Sunday's but that's fine with me. Some things in the store are z bit overpriced in my opinion but that's just my opinion lol. For the most part this store is like my Home Depot but for girls Hobby lobby this is my kind of place. This store and most Hobby Lobby's DO NOT value efficiency and swift service. They do not adequately equip their cashiers with enough change, which results in unnecessary wait. If they were not the only store in Katy carrying what I need, I wouldn't go. If you enjoy slow poking, this is fine. If you prefer in and out service, find another store. read more

Another day at hobby lobby, I've chose to actually wait in line this time and not leave. Cashiers having social hour while ringing people up. No scanner. They still manually enter each item code. Hobby lobby would rather customers suffer and waste our valuable time than to invest in basic technology. Products have barcodes for a reason. Ran in because I needed one item and now I've been in line 45mins. Amazon can deliver quicker than that. If I get out of here, I vow to never visit hobby lobby again until they can make this process faster. This is ridiculous. My neighborhood Hobby Lobby. Its been here for years. It is nice to have a one-stop hobby shop close to home. Make sure to inspect your item thoroughly before purchase. Closest hobby lobby to me, but the worst one I've ever been to. All of the employees are very rude! Especially the managers. They give you so much attitude when you ask for help. Also, I had to return something but they told me they couldn't do it because I didn't have my receipt. I understood and came back with it a couple of days later. Then another manager told me that he could not do anything about it and would not refund me my money. I called corporate and they told me that they give managers full control over refunds. What??? This is one of the more stocked up hobby lobby's in the area. My reason for the review is because my husband loves penguins and I love blankets, and I really wanted to find this penguin blanket while it was 50% off. It was 7:58, the cashiers were asking everyone to go check out because the store was closing, and I generally don't ask employees for help because I'm pretty sure everyone is on the same page that customer service has gone downhill and I hate effortless people. I wouldn't give up on looking but I was packing because the store was closing, my husband asked who appeared to be the manager and she completely stopped what she was doing and pretty much searched the whole store until they spotted it on the very top of a random aisle and climbed up to get it. In addition there was an item that didn't have a price, along with the other ones on the shelf, before I could pull up my phone to look for it on their website she offered to go find it. I beat her to it, but a manger that puts in the efforts to help customers surely is a great example for the rest of the team to be better people and make everyone work together. A great leader by putting it on herself to help instead of pawning it off, (she was in the middle of cleaning and getting ready for closing when we approached her for help.)This will be my new hobby lobby location now. This store has horrible customer service. I needed a frame for some art work. I asked them to measure it for me and got an eye roll. Then I got a frame that I thought was 50% off, but it was regular price. The manager rudely told me ONES WITH GLASS ARENT ON SALE (which wasn't even true). I'm not a moron I can read, and I saw a 50% off sign in front of frames with glass. So I was like well can you show me, and she's like someone back there can help you. I walk back there myself and asked someone to help explain to me, and she said "hanging frames" are not on sale, but those that are "propped up frames" are. She also rolled her eyes at me because I asked her about frames without glass since that's what the front associate said. Not good customer service. We were waiting in line for 5 minutes then cashier told us she will close and put the sign. We have to get in line and wait 15 minutes. It's ok if you close but you should put a sign right away or tell customer so we don't waste time to wait there. Very disappointed. If I don't need that item, I won't go there. read more

If you are looking for quality art supplies, I would definitely not go to this store. The selection is okay. Some of the paint looked old. I purchased tubes of white and blue gouache paint. The white was watery and the blue was so thick and stringy it was not usable. When I went to return the blue paint, they would not give me a refund because the paint had been opened. Obviously, I had to open it or I would not have known it was poor quality. The paint is overpriced to begin with. The woman I spoke with said she was the manager. I had a bad experience with hobby lobby s.fry. i had to return an item which we find not good and didnt bother to remove it from its plastic. when i was in the cashier, the cashier said my item was not on my receipt which i dont know coz all of the the item was tagged as home accent. They argued with us and letting us feel bad that i was returning an item that was not on the receipt. they keep arguing with us even i told them that was a mistake on their side if the item was not on my receipt. on my way home i realized i found the item on the receipt which has the correct price of the item. i needed to come back to them to show them the receipt! this was my worst customer service ive experienced. read more

Waited in line to return 2 items for 25 minutes. They only have one line for returns. This is pathetic.

While this store may have a pretty good selection, checking out is a NIGHTMARE. Seriously. Probably around 10 registers, 2 are open for sales, and 1 is open for returns. Yesterday I waited probably over 15 minutes in line when there were only 2 people ahead of me. Today I needed to return an item I bought yesterday. Same register situation as yesterday and AGAIN I had to wait 15 minutes in the returns line. The manager (while he seems like a nice man) came to the register at least twice and said nothing regarding my line and the other two lines becoming increasingly long. Not sure if management doesn't notice these things or just doesn't care. read more
