I stopped at hobby lobby to return a product that I was not satisfied with. While in the store I decided to shop around. I found cotton candy sour candy and Cheeto balls. When I went to make my return and purchase products I was told returns are only made at 1 register which had a line of people. So I asked her to ring up the purchase, after I paid I got into the lien for "returns." I wanted for probably 10-12 minutes. Growing impatient as there's only 1 person making returns and 3 other associates who can check people out but cannot process returns. Finally, I made it to the cashier to process my 1 item to return. I let the cashier know that I have 1 return and I made my purchase in another line prior. It was quick: then a bald gentleman with a beard( guessing it's a manger) looks at me and the cashier and says "no purchase?" Implying I didn't pay for my candy and Cheetos. To which I replied "I purchased it before I was told that returns are only in one line." And his response was "sorry about that I just saw you eating the stuff." It's unprofessional to imply I was stealing. I've never been so appalled by an employee at hobby lobby. read more

Okay, I always end up finding what I need but we all appear to know it is not going to be the easiest check out situation. You know, not much by the way of staff and oh.... NO FRIGGEN BARCODES/SCANNING?! That being said, I would NOT want to have to deal with manually typing single individual item in and have to constantly make sure I wasn't missing any approriate discounts/waiting for coupon codes/listening to customers ramble about what does or doesn't fall under sale parameters... Anyways, all that to say.. last Tuesday, I popped in to pick up some supplies for our office's team building exercise (think Painting With a Twist, but in the office with yours truly as the teacher) -- my cashier was an absolute doll. Erica, I believe was her name. I meant to write a review earlier but I have a full time job and 2 kiddos so, ya know... time gets away from you. Erica, I am sorry if I misremembered you're name but I am pretty sure it is Erica.... I really appreciated your upbeat attitude, warm smile, efficiency and your subtle nod to my Type A/OCD tendencies towards how I organized my (lack of) conveyor belt. And when my manager used the wrong card, you very quickly helped correct the situation without skipping a beat and took such care to make sure the fan brushes were wrapped up safely. And to anyone else reading this, try to remember retail is a beast even when you can scan barcodes/have a decent POS system. Going into the holidays, which are a hectic time for crafting stores, try and treat other customers and staff with the same respect you would like to receive. I rarely post a review, however I am no longer staying quiet when it comes to a bad experience. I have visited several Hobby Lobby's in the Metro-plex and the Atlanta area and by far the Little Elm location is my least favorite one and can say, I will no longer be going to this location. Clearly there are a few employees who truly appear they don't want to be there with the way they treat their customers. I would have to agree with Russel V and Kat T and their responses. I will now driver further out for my hobby supplies. Food for thought - If you can't count change back once a person has given you cash; you shouldn't be on the register to begin with. :-) read more

I wish I could give this Hobby Lobby 0 stars. I tried to return items that were broken because the product was obviously defective. I spoke with Gabby a manager and she was absolutely awful. There was no sympathy for the situation or offering to at least give me a discount of something back. The service was awful. I will definitely rethink buying from this store. Looks like amazon will be getting more of my money. They also have lots of broken items on the shelf that I don't know why anyone would want them. I tried to inform them of the broken product and she said the sell it like that at a discount. Why would anyone buy this product. What's the point of keeping in on the shelves? read more

After checking out and literally walking out the door some worker standing at the front of the store said "is that your basket...? I can take it."Pointing. I turned around and said yes. She said "it goes over here and pointed to the door." !!! DO NOT COME TO THIS LOCATION!!! Me and my friend were going to get a Vinyl machine and the staff I asked were very helpful. I was enjoying my time shopping there until I noticed two white managers were in every isle I was in. I thought it was coincidence so I went to one corner of the store and next thing you know the two managers were there shortly after. So I proceeded to walk to the complete opposite corner of the store and once again those managers were there shortly after. I did this at least 2 times before checking out and they followed me to every isle I went too. As a black male it is completely in appropriate to racially profile me and my friend assuming we're stealing from your store. I go here all the time. The one thing I don't like about Hobby Lobby is that they just enter prices. So if you buy something and it goes on sale the next day in order to get the sale price you have to bring both the item and receipt back. Also it is very hit or miss if you are looking for something particular. Some of the people who work here seem to know where everything and others seem to take pleasure and having you walk from one end of the store to another. Lastly, I have had two items framed. Both came out great but make sure you wait until you have a coupon. read more

However, it takes me way longer than it should to do so - it's heinously hard to find an employee who a) will pay attention to you and b) knows where to find what you're looking for. It gets better as you learn where your frequent finds are located, but can be intimidating if you're just popping in for one thing and don't have 45 minutes to hunt it down. read more

I've been here a handful of times looking for supplies and helpful items. I'm usually taken aback at a few things. First, their staff is kind of rude and non-responsive. You don't get help when you need it and you usually have to ask several people the same question before you get a reliable answer. The attitude is fairly avoidant and it appears they don't like to work very hard to get you what you want or need. Second, the pricing is rather high compared to the product quality. You can get much of the same product from other stores at a cheaper price, but Hobby Lobby just puts it all under the same roof. So, it's more convenient but you pay extra here. Third, the over reliance on the religious stuff is off putting to many. I get that Hobby Lobby is run by the Christian Right, but good grief I don't need to be overwhelmed by faith based propaganda in a good many of the items on the shelf. I shouldn't have to wade through stacks of that in order to get to the items I want. Maybe have a section of the store for that?? I don't know. Anyway, my overall experience hasn't been good. So it's probably not on the radar for future visits. read more

I wish I could give this store 0 stars. I brought an original piece of art in to be custom framed. There was a gentleman a head of me, and a young white lady showed up while I was waiting my turn. She only had a pick up and I would have been fine with her getting her item and leaving, because my service would take some time. However the associate did not even recognize my presence. I am a 6'3 Black man and all parties involved noticed me. He did not acknowledge my presence and walked off after giving her, her item. Another associate arrived and did not acknowledge me either. This hobby lobby has gone downhill. I'm sad to say this as I have visited a lot. It's Halloween in a week or so and they have already taken most Halloween items out. Very little options. The women's restroom had paper towels for toilet paper. And at check out, a sign I had wanted to purchase was clearly marked 50% off yet they wouldn't honor it saying the sign was incorrect. I was very disappointed today. I hope they work towards improvement. I appreciate their business model and philosophies so I would like to be excited again to come here in the future if they can recover. December 9, 2016 I was back in the store today looking to replace a broken ornament I can't get anywhere else that I know of. I got sucked in to the 50% off items and grabbed about 30 dollars worth of items all labeled 50% off. This included scotch packing tape marked at 3.99 with a visible sign directly above it saying 50% off gift wrapping supplies or something to that effect. Apparently though according to the cashier the tape is listed as an exclusion in the "fine print"! So why the sign and the deliberate attempt to deceive people? Apparently, corporate requires them to place signs like that and no one ever really says anything about it. Well I did. And surprise they really don't care. I felt like I was being tricked into thinking an item was on sale that wasn't and had I not asked at checkout, I would have likely never caught it. I spoke to corporate customer care who flat out said that's the way it is and Gabby at the store who said they just have to do what is told to them. She was very polite and sorry and said she doesn't hear many complaints because the customers who come there "just know". I was sad to learn this of a company I had thought so highly of in the past for their values. In my opinion that type of sales tactic is in very poor taste. read more

One of my favorite places to go! I am always able to find the craft supplies and home goods I am looking for-- and usually more! They constantly have sales/specials on, which is nice. The prices are pretty good in my opinion. My only complaint is the few times I have asked for help from staff I have been disappointed by the attitude. Once, I had a question about what type of glue/sealant to use one a craft I was doing- there were about 4 staff members standing around chatting at the front of the store so I politely approached and asked for assistance. One lady (who I actually think was the manager) rolled her eyes and said "yeah, yeah.. .what do you need.." and actually cut me off halfway through explaining my craft. She told me what I needed. I then told her that couldn't be right, and then finished telling her what I was making.. she then agreed and told me a different product. She seemed frustrated that I had wasted her time, when realistically if she had just let me finish to begin with we would have been done talking much sooner! Second time, I was purchasing some plastic flowers to make an arrangement. I had gotten them from an "After"Easter Sale" section. The section took up about 4 isles, (an ENTIRE isle of which was the flowers I was buying..) and they were located directly next to the registers. When I gave them to the cashier I explained where I had gotten them from and she just nodded. Before paying I noticed she did not give me the marked discount for the sale section and so I brought it to her attention again, politely. She told me there was no way I got them from over there, there were no flowers in the sale section and these were full price. I asked her to please go check, as there was an ENTIRE isle filed with these flowers and they were all very clearly marked as part of the sale. Instead of going to check she turned around and asked an associate at another register if the flowers were on sale. This associate also told her no, so they turned back to me and told me they were not on sale. I again asked, "Can you please just run over and check? They are 2 isles away and I promise there are tons of them there and a huge sign!" She finally went off to check, and LO AND BEHOLD-- I WAS RIGHT. She came back and didn't even apologize for telling me continuously I was wrong and refusing to check. She simply said "yep, on sale.", changed the price and asked me to pay. I love shopping here, but honestly wish they had a self checkout so that I didn't have to deal with the terrible staff. read more

This place is pretty cool. I like doing small projects for my kids usually using wood. This place has a GREAT selection of paints and many various craft items. I am used to going to Michaels for these supplies but now hobby lobby is very close to my house. There isn't a big area for kids; but my wife and I feel like we could decorate our intire house with this store. The prices are reasonable. Never a long line. Really nice place. So many old style pieces and paintings. I love it. read more

Went to the Little Elm Hobby Lobby this evening for a quick trip around the floral department. I passed by 4 HL employees shoulder to shoulder and not one of them spoke to me or said hello. In fact, two of them almost ran me over in the aisle and never politely apologized when passing me. I moved my basket completely over to the edge of the aisle when an employee was passing me with her cart and she never even said thank you or even looked at me. I'm not a stickler for someone being overly polite but would have been nice to have a simple acknowledgement of thank you when I as the customer moved over for the employee. I never leave reviews but this one stuck to me as I've been a customer of Hobby Lobby for many years, although this Hobby Lobby is new to me since I recently moved here. Great stock, zero assistance. Big store, on a Saturday, and I only saw 3 employees working total, including the two behind the registers. I found an employee (after 20 min) and asked where I might find an item and the employee said, "I don't know," and walked off. Being 8 1/2 months pregnant I didn't have it in me to hunt someone else down. We left the basket and the store. Management needs to read some reviews. I bought three items (2 identical wall hangings and one picture framed wall art) for the same price $29.99 each last week. Two of them were 50% and identical. The third one was charged full price. I took the third one to return to the Little ELm store which I happen to go that area today. They refunded me half price saying that it was 50% off last week. I told them I paid the full price. They said it was one of the 50% off items on my receipt. I told them I bought two identical items at 50% off so I knew it wasn't one of them. They didn't listen to me. After I drove 45 minutes home and found out I was indeed charged the full price for that item and called the store, they asked me to bring the other two identical wall hangings back for them to check. And I have to do so within a couple of hours before the manager leave for the day. I live 45 minutes away (one way) and I have two little kids. I told them I couldn't do that today. They told me I had to in order to get the refund. I was very disappointed!!! Why couldn't they make the receipt more descriptive so people know exactly which item is for which price??? Why I had to bring all of the items on the receipt back in order to receive refund on one item??? Either the first cashier over charged me or the returning cashier only gave me half refund. I certainly won't be able to go back today and they just robbed over $16 of me. By the way, the lady in front of me who was returning something left very unhappy. Now I know why!!! read more

Ok so with school starting back and my kids in art, they needed special supplies. Instead of driving to the art store,( Which i Should have!!!), i went here just to get certain pencils. Of course, got the wrong kind, had to return, and headache all over again!! Still horrible customer service!! once again, pencils sealed up, had receipt. They called dept.lady came to get them, walked back to check if carry those and verify price, walked back up, called mgr for key turn, then asked me to sign the receipt, i did, then she hassled me over my signature. WHAT?!?!? ive signed my name that way for years and never had anyone question it. Ridiculous!!!! I've seen thousands of messy unreadble signatures, and mine was readble. Who is she to tell someone how to sign their name! Furthermore, this was getting back 3 dollars, not a charge or something for hundreds of dollars or something. Morons work here! I'm a business owner. A few days ago I bought about 30 picture frames that were on sale for 50%off. I realized some of the frames purchased were 8 x 10, not 81/2 x 11 so I returned a few days later to exchange them. The cashier is working on the exchange and she charges me full price for the replacement frames. (Both frame sizes were the same price) I point out that the frames were and still are on sale and she says the other cashier made a mistake. I recall and explain that the first cashier confirmed with her manager that they were on sale and also tell her about the ad in the newspaper and signs all over the department. She just shrugs her shoulders .....so I ask for her manager. Now the rockhead manager, James, comes over and incredibly refuses to allow the discount.
