I've been to this hobby lobby plenty of times to buy things for my business I've never had a problem until today. I went in to buy some flavoring and I mistakenly read 50% and the lady at the register told me there wasn't 50% off so I said fine. Just for her to call the manager then i told the manager it was okay I just mistakenly read it said 50% off and I wanted to continue on and recheck out my items. She came back not even a second later to get on to me telling me to read the fine print even thought I told her I. mistakenly read it wrong. I cut the lady off to tell her I'm buying them regardless and I don't have a problem with paying full price then, Loretta (cashier) checked my out and continued to put each individual coin on the table making it seem like I couldn't count money. My wife and I went in there to shop for some tumblers to use on our cricket, we checked out the glass products and I accidentally dropped a small jar, we went to grab someone and tell them like how we should, instead of leaving like a jerk well the lady that came up was so rude to us and I apologized profusely, because I felt bad! She simply didn't care gave me a smug face and walked on I told her that the least I could do was tell her that I broke it that and I could've ran off and not cared, she simply said yeah sure that's fine thanks I guess. Almost all of the workers were so rude to us walking in and out, I don't recommend going in there unless you want the attitude of stubborn old ladies that think they're better than all of us. They have zero values of costumers or the service they gave us. What's sad is the prices are so great but the service will absolutely stunt anyone who wants nice people going to this store. read more

The Maryville store has a better inventory of party supplies than the Knoxville locations. Floral and decor are on par with other Hobby Lobby stores. The building and parking lot are clean. My only complaint with this location is that it seems understaffed. It's nearly impossible to find a sales associate for assistance, and I've never seen more than two registers open even when the lines were long. Still a great store! The Hobby Lobby website is very easy to navigate and lists all the departments currently running sales, which is super convenient since the sales change weekly. I returned one item. They only have one register for returns but allow customers with tons of items use it for purchases. Lady in front of me had $171 worth of $3 and $5 items. And no scanner!!! Took almost 25 minutes for her. Manager was there. Did nothing. Why not put limit on number of items at that ONE return register. Or use any register? Or get a scanner!! NEVER AGAIN WILL I SHOP AT HOBBY LOBBY! I was in the Hobby Lobby in Maryville TN. I had a return of a pk of candles that cost 3.99, they were in a store bag in my purse. I was looking for stuff for 3.99 or so. I got a paint set and a plastic container for my granddaughter. I also walk around looked at news items since I hadn't been there for a month. When I went to check out, I pulled the bag out of my purse and told cashier I wanted to exchange the candles for these items. She said they needed to know if they carry them still and she called Manger he left to check. After awhile I said I would go help him find them. I didn't see him but brought back another pack. Over her walkie he asked if she had done the exchange. She said she needed some numbers, he said he was no his way. He finally showed back up and pulled me aside and ask if I had brought them with and pretty much accused me of stealing 3.99 candle. Why would i steal 3.99 candle he said you would be surprised what people steal. Of course I was very upset, how dare this person humiliate me, there people all round. I told him to ask the cashier, she said "I can't really say" as the empty bag was on the counter. He said he would do it this time. I asked for GM name and his I didn't get GM name and only got Co mangager Nick and a 1800 number which was customer service which was closed. I said I would never come back and why would i steal 3.99 when I had a hundred in cash in my wallet. I am still so up hours later. read more

I am a frequent shopper at Hobby Lobby. Most visits to the store are quick in and out. The Maryville location appears to have a consistent problem and most likely related to lack of management & leadership. I have noted two issues with this location. First concern is lack of open lanes while other employees are socializing near the lanes or going through merchandise. I understand not everyone is trained on the checkout lanes but this is not often the case. I know I recognized several who could have opened another lane and eventually did a few times. The long lines have prevented purchases from me. Secondly, I have encountered rude associates on occasion. I rarely ask for assistance but when I have the associate was short & treated be like I was a bother. The most recent one was in the fabric section. I needed a sample of upholstery fabric & none was available on a few of the rolls. I found a nearby associate and inquired about a swatch of fabric- rudely told to go to fabric table & ring the bell. Lady at the table was not too happy to assist with my request. This store has no customer service and very unhappy & rude associates. read more

The prices seem higher than they should be for the quality of the merchandise and it appears to have been selected for this store because it did not sell elsewhere. went in with an online return yesterday. I simply wanted to exchange for this same item but one that was already assembled (I don't have the tools for to assemble the item I was sent from online. I made sure and asked a male manager that was there the day before on my way home from work before I made the trip back out to town the next day. Upon returning I explained to this lady what the manager had said and she snarked and looked back at the other manager on duty and laughed while saying "hey did ya here that". Rude! She said "this lady doesn't want to put this together so that's why she's here (just a very sour rude tone and she scowled). Your just old and crotchety or you need to find another job. I'm from greenback I live 15 minutes from maryville I would drive the extra 45 min just to go to the Knoxville store to avoid this kind of treatment. The whole thing was a joke. The manager on duty said I would be able to return and to go find what I wanted and come back. So, I went back there all three shelves i was looking for were broken. One was chipped, the other was missing a bolt and the last one was cracked looked like it was going to fall apart. Needless to say I'm going to the knoxville location today. Terrible customer service. Will update the name of cashier when i get the Chance. read more
