So excited that Hobby Lobby has finally opened in San Jose! It is an enormous store, much larger than their Morgan Hill location, which feels bright & spacious. We walked up and down the aisles and they have everything you can possibly imagine to decorate and accessorize your home from candles, vases, throw pillows, door knobs, artwork, lamps & their seasonal section is also fabulous! The store was pretty busy for a late Saturday afternoon but they had a lot of cashiers & kept the lines moving quickly!

Finally got to visit with the family! It's near Almaden Costco and has replaced bed bath and beyond. It's on the second floor and is accessible via escalator or elevator. It's a huge space that's bright, well stocked for a grand opening, and lots of friendly workers. They have so many aisles for home decor, arts and crafts and more! They've have a promotional discount to attract new customers. You could get lost in the store easily!

    Some hello kitty stuff

It's nice to have a Hobby Lobby in my city instead of going all the way to the Morgan Hill location. Store was well organized and clean. Also I found some great stuff such as Hello Kitty merchandise and jewelry. The only bad thing was that the staff on the sales floor weren't really greeting customers which doesn't really look right. It's a nice place to come to when looking for items for the house and seasonal items. I'll come back again.

    Poorly stocked shelves

Rows of almost empty shelves of Christmas decorations the week before Thanksgiving. Two employees couldn't be bothered and acted irritated when I asked where items were.

There were 8 staff members hanging out in the front with 1 person on register. Took more than 10 minutes to pay for a couple of items.

I had done my homework beforehand -- did some research on the brands that Kelly Paper carries, the available colors, weights, sizes, etc. -- and I was looking for Classic Crest or Linen papers. There were two full aisles, organized by weight and color and texture, of pretty papers for me to look through -- heaven, I tell you! You can buy samples of papers before you commit to a whole ream. I picked up a few pages of stocks I was interested in (each piece was, like, ten cents). As I approached the register, the super-nice clerk told me that I could just take them, because she knew that I would be back to buy a ream. Awesome :) It definitely helped to do some paper research beforehand. With their wide selection, Kelly Paper can be overwhelming, so have an idea of what you're looking for before going in. And usually, there would only be one or two people working, so you may not get the assistance you need. Their prices are cheaper than Paper Source (especially for the Stardream Papers); it's definitely worth checking out.

The prices are a high here. I bought a blind box of a a cat with the sphinx head dress on it. When I opened it up it was so tiny. I laughed when I saw how small it was. Prices are higher for items as most are imported from Japan, but worth for the convenience and accessibility. This specific shop is a little more quiet and sparse compared to others, but they do have different plushies than what I've seen. Amongst the Tokyo Japanese Lifestyle stores in the South Bay area, this was the only one I have found the Shinada Global Mochi-Kawauso (Mochi-Otter). I first saw this little otter plush on tik tok and that swept me off my feet... I had to have one. They were selling for $80+ online (re-sellers) and marketplace site. Here...there isn't just the normal sized otter plush, but there's the massive XXL sized one. Just thinking about shipping from Japan... $200 + tax for this isn't unreasonable. I felt like a kid running out of a candy store with a bag of candy after getting the XXL otter - yes...it was very expensive, but it was worth every bit to satisfy my inner child. Final Thoughts: You don't come here for customer service, it's the products that you're here for.

The cost was extremely high, but we were ok with it since we were getting what we wanted. About week before the work was completed, they called us to confirm some details. During that conversation we, once again, confirmed the agreed upon mounting solutions. Brett confidently said "Yes!" When we went to pick up the work, we realized that they, indeed, had changed the design and instead of steel cleats had installed these piddly little hooks. In addition to being flimsy, the hooks would have caused the frames to stick out of the wall, something we definitely did not want. Brett Thomas did NOT deny our conversation and the agreed upon mounting, but belligerently started yelling in our faces, insulting our intelligence and completely disregarding our wishes, and refused to refund the extra cost for the labor he has originally charged us. He flippantly tried to deduced $20 from the cost (0.800% of the total cost). Having just completed the construction of a 100% custom house we have dealt with hundreds of subs. Never have we seen anyone so rude and obnoxious.
