Big store with good selection and service. It was my first time there. The parking lot wasn't very easy to navigate and very crowded. The different areas in the store are well marked and I found the brush cleaner I was looking for right away. I also bought a new fall doormat I needed too. Stopping in for a calendar book, I know Im late in the game being that we are already in February. So disappointed that i didn't find anything, not one single calendar book in any size, uggh. Came here to check out their Halloween merch and it didn't disappoint. I personally like the idea of incorporating pink into holidays for the sake of keeping pink as a general light aesthetic theme for my home, makes it so I don't have to constantly phase out one set of holiday decor just because it doesn't match my new set. Michaels now has Halloween decor that incorporates pink and I was in love at first sight! I ended up limiting myself to a pink skull but the other merchandise they had was gorgeous. It gave off a very vintage/spooky vibe which I loved. If you're looking to make spooky not only fun but also sprinkled with pink definitely check Michaels Halloween section out. My sis in law and I also walked around looking for good deals and random things we liked. It seems like they have quite a few Halloween craft activities as well as Dia De Muertos crafts as well. With almost everything being 40%-50% off we got some good deals and spent under $50, the cheapest Michaels trip I've ever had haha Plenty of parking, employees greet you when you walk in, there's always carts ready when you walk in the the left and the seasons hot topic is always presented in the front when you walk in. This review is for Alondra, who was exceptional! The Michaels employees have always been very helpful here but Alondra stood out for her superb customer service. I appreciated her honesty in answering some of my questions about different paints but what really drove me to write this review is her concern for the safety of her customers. A man had approach me in the store (he had the smell of alcohol emitting from him) and she was diligent about making sure i was safe and that he left without making a commotion. She treated him with respect and professionalism despite her concerns. On top of that, when i was checking out, she even said "well make sure you get to your car safely." This location front associate has some nasty personality. She is younger person very obnoxious. How do you work in retail and completely rude towards customer? Arrived here on a Saturday around 11:45 am with my sister to purchase some art supplies for her. It's a great plaza since Michaels is there for arts and crafts and dollar tree is next door for any items you want at a cheaper rate. Spacious parking lot so nothing to worry about. Michaels always coupons posted on their website so you'll save money nonetheless. We got 4 items- 2 sketch books and 2 graphite pencils. They've automated their checkout process with about 80% being self serve kiosks since majority of customers pay with card. I like how you can easily find posted coupons on the kiosk so you don't have to scramble for your phone for a certain QR code. Curbside pickup ends at 6 pm . Asked the cashier if she can have my stuff ready by the time I get there. I asked her if she can also put tape with my order. She replies with " You have to come in for that. " I get in the store and ask her what aisle the tape is in. She said aisle 17. When I went to go check she gave me the wrong aisle and I stumbled upon tape in a different aisle. The store was pretty dead at around 6:07 . Customer service was pretty bad . It's like no one wants to help you and they pretty much have an F it attitude. Waste of time trying going in the store with a curbside pickup . After I was done paying for my tape I had to go to a different person to get my pickup order. They even messed up my order and forgot to give me my gift wrap. Omg. I came back same day a few minutes after my purchase to exchange for a smaller size (20x28), same brand, same sale price as well for 7.99 (I also used a $5 coupon and didn't want to lose the discount). The woman at the counter told me I have to come back in two days just to do that. I told her I'm not happy with this policy that makes no sense and want to just return the frame, she said I can't return it today and have to come back in a few days. Yesterday, we bought some glue here that turned out to be defective (it had coagulated, possibly because of having been on the shelf too long). Entering the store this morning, we were greeted in a very friendly way by Amy, whom we informed about our situation, offering to show evidence that the glue had spoiled. "No need to explain," she said. "Let me save you the trouble of doing that and promptly refund your money," which she did, in a way that was polite, pleasant and efficient. I felt as if I had gone back in time, decades, to an era when customer service was what customers dreamed it should be. Nice going, Amy! I have always been able to find stickers, arts & craft supplies, foam visors, T-shirts, aprons, baking supplies, gift wrapping supplies, picture frames, spray paint, spray adhesive, and even thank you notes. On my most recent visit, I was looking for artificial flowers to spruce up a "Derby" hat. Michael's had a good selection of colors & styles. I found exactly what I needed. Okay, I want to revise my original statement. If you don't have the teeniest bit of creativity in your body, you SHOULD go to Michael's. You might feel just a bit overwhelmed with all of the stuff they have, but it is organized and clean. With all that Michael's offers, you may just find yourself becoming creative. Went into the store to purchase a scrapbook case to hold some paper I just found. Had mask on my chin and walked through the store with no problems. Get in line with other customers, chat with a lady with a baby no problems. Not a problem until the young lady behind the counter made it clear I was to wear my mask or I would not be rung up. I was in line already for about 7 minutes so I'm not going to just leave. I get to the register of course it has to be her and she refuses to ring me up without my mask covering my face, pull it down to cover mouth while I pay and she refuses to proceed until I cover my nose. Pull up to cover nose and then she hits button that pops out receipt. Mask at mouth and not face....she won't give me my receipt. I finally left when the receipt started to print because she mad it EXTREMELY clear I was bad and I won't get my receipt unless I follow her policy. I left without the receipt just so Michael's is aware. The best was she got a lady in line to join in and the couple to my right as well. Cool we use gang mentality to force guests into submission. So no receipt and here I am telling a true story. Mask or no mask....maybe Michael's should go the way of In N' Out and just not have employees do the governments biding. Went to Michael to buy a winter project for my daughter to do during her 2 weeks off from school. We went with our small dog and determined to buy her a toy also. We were in our spirit for the holidays. Until this woman, Claudia, yelled at us so loud while we were a long distance apart way in the clear aisle. bc we let the dog play with the pom pom that we would buy for our dog. I understand her intention but I appreciate it better if she can come up to me and tell me in person instead of screaming at me in the middle of the store as if there's a big drama going on. This review is specifically of the framing service with Aaron Brothers. The store itself is usually understaffed but clean and well-stocked. I placed an order online on a Saturday and was given no paperwork or order number and had to call their 1-800 number to have information sent to me to complete the order at the store. I was contracted at the store to bring in my artwork for a poster I was framing and when I got there they told me, "No, we just need you to verify the measurements and we will order the frame. (This was two weeks after I placed the order). I let them hold the artwork in the same to ensure less running around. I come to pick up the frame and there were gaps of space on the sides of the poster which they added a colored paper. The poster is also not centered correctly. I asked about this and the manager (who had been reasonable up until this point) said, "Your measurements were wrong." No, they were not. They were exact. She must have forgotten she had the actual poster for two weeks to prove my measurements had been correct all along and the wrong frame was ordered. Don't blame the customer when you are wrong. One thing I hate about Michaels is the inconsistency in how they do things at different stores. This location is cheap... not in cost but cheap towards their customers. Imagine placing an online order and going to pick it up. They then bring it out to you, dump it out of a bag and expect you to collect it in your arms and walk out. Excuse me, may I please have the bag for my items? We can't give them out. Every other store I've been to hasn't dumped my order out of the bag used for online orders. Here you can have a paper one. Oh, thank you. How cheap can you get? I have one more thing to get before I leave. Go to main registers and the young man ringing me up seems not in the moment. Was he on a personal call with the earpiece in his ear? Not sure but not one word was exchanged between us. Didn't ask if I was a rewards member... not even a thank you for your patronage. Can't really get anymore disappointed than I already am. Maybe if I add the messy store that'll push me there. Probably won't shop here again unless the deal is too good. I came here to purchase some arts & crafts for my daughter to do & after my husband also had purchased more things at a different store I wanted to return some things since I wouldn't be needing them anymore, unfortunately I lost my receipt. When I went back I was told I could only get store credit and any other day I wouldn't mind but I didn't need anything else for these projects I'm doing with my kid, so I just wanted to return some stuff. The manager Amy from the beginning was very dismissive, I've worked retail for 14 years & I know that in every system you can find copies of every transaction made, after I told her that she agreed to look for my receipt, she proceeded to say it was going to take a long time, she said she would call me the following Wednesday, she failed to do that so I called back on Thursday, a different manager told me there was a print copy of a receipt upfront with my name, so I went in today & when I told her thank you for looking she then told me how she was going to call me because she wasn't sure if it was my receipt or not, when they scanned my things apparently it was not. She said she would look again and also stated how it's a very long process that she had 300 receipts to go through, saying whatever she could to make me get impatient so I would just want to leave. Although I had information like the time, what register I was helped at, and the amount total that I paid with, as well as knowing the amount it was , not the cents but the cash total. From the beginning I knew she just didn't want to help me, if we're being honest I felt racially profiled. I called a different Michael's talked to the manager & told them my situation, they proceeded to tell me how it takes up to 5-20 mins to locate a receipt especially with all the information I had to help them, they mentioned how she probably didn't want to do the work and actually help me. So I called customer service, told them my story & got my receipt. I will not be shopping at this location again. Amy made me feel completely uncomfortable and people like her shouldn't be working in this field if they don't have the same respect for every paying customer. Overall bad experience. She was saying anything to basically get me out of there, I was respectful from the beginning and gave her the benefit of the doubt TWICE. Like I said she was very dismissive. I love the selection of Wilton baking supplies. The customer service is good on the weekday and non-existent on the weekends. The parking lot is sketchy and sometimes difficult to navigate. I then went to this Michaels to purchase a 13x19 poster frame for my man-cave...actually more like a man-corner... I found the frame I was seeking. My little one selected a book on manga-drawing. Up to the counter we went. I told the gal at the counter that I wanted to apply my 40% coupon to the frame purchase. She told me that it didn't apply. I then asked to apply it to our daughter's book purchase. Again, I was told it wouldn't apply. Basically the coupon has a shiat--load of fine print, that pretty much eliminates anything I'd go there to purchase. I feel pretty ripped off. Especially since I've spent a few hundred bucks on a frame job at another Michael's, and have shopped there for years. I've had jobs where folks have come in with expired coupons, etc. I've usually found ways to accommodate them, if only to create goodwill.
