Wow, this store is HUGE!! It's like a department store of home goods and a craft store in one. You'll find home decor that are not sold anywhere else in the area. I'm so upset! Got in line today to make a purchase. Apparently lady at counter was doing multiple returns!!! At least 5 during my wait. Never once in the 20+ minutes my line stood waiting, did management come take us to the front of another register! I finally walked out, leaving my desired purchase in the candy display! Definitely a cross between Jo-Ann's, Michael's and Home Goods... I was especially interested by the decorative displays, as I desperately need ideas on how to furnish my home! The seasonal decorations area was humongous, and filled with all sorts of goodies. The party department was stocked with lots of neutral party themes, along with a couple generic boy/girl themes as well. Good stock of Wilton supplies and other chocolate molds (gave me ideas for future parties!). So much stuff for the creative and non-creative; by that I mean there are displays that help you put things together by themes (like they had a display of movie memorabilia, western, tribal decorations...) so easily, which I can appreciate. Yes, they have different things from the other to Hobby & Craft Stores in town, but OMG, really, if a worker is going to rush to your immediate area just to get a better look, and NOT offer any assistance, then why are they there? I got profiled by the platinum blonde, plain clothed loss prevention personnel today. It seems they profile everyone walking in because i got "mixed up" with a different person also with sunglasses and in a blue shirt they were keeping tabs on.... He decided to stop me & take me hostage to answer questions in his office after witnessing me make an exchange without a receipt assuming i stole the item after wondering the store when i had in fact walked in with it & had checked in with the cashier prior to going to look for the item i wanted to exchange it for. He was too busy profiling me that he didnt even hear cashier tell their trainee i checked in earlier. Once in the office i get accused of stealing. The 1st time i say is lets look at the camera then. It will cearly show me walking in and talking to the cashier about my item. He directly lies to my face and said the camera in fact do not show that when he looked at them. I repeat several times i walked in with my item and talked to the cashier. Also telling him the cashier even told the trainee there that i had in fact checked in earlier. After corroborating my store with the cashier, dude confesses and owns up to the "bad stop". But patronizingly ask why i am upset with being held in the office against my will, falsely accused of stealing, made to feel like a liar and inconvenienced. I am more annoyed because hes trying to avoid my questions and the pieces of information he did tell me demonstrate very poor practices and communication from these staffmembers. The loss prevention dude said a cashier notified of someone suspect that also had sunglasses and a blue shirt. He was keeping tabs on them but mixed us up when we were both in the seasonal section. He decided to stop me because of my exchange without an receipt. Therefore he assumed i stole without any evidence. When i asked for the camera to be brought up to prove so or otherwise he refused. I ask, if the cashier did point me out why did they process my transaction? There were multiple personnel involved in my transaction as well. He said he tried to signal and confirm with the cashier behind my back that i was in fact the suspicious person pointed out prior but could not get confirmation and could only stop me after i left the store. Like none of the excuses the loss prevention personnel told me makes sense unless it is their protocol to profile people. My simple transaction without a receipt should not have been interpreted as stealing nor should of been flagged or seen as a red flag especially without evidence of me grabbing it while in the store. read more

They may have just lost my business. I live in Tracy and was in Stockton for an errand. I needed to stop in to grab a little something for a birthday basket I am making. I figured since I'm already here I can knock it out before going back home. It was 910am and there is seriously no one in the store but one customer checking out. As I'm walking in the cashier, Chloe, pulls her mask down and in a raised tone tells me the first hour is for 65+ and high risk. She's saying this in front of a customer checking out. I am completely caught off guard and slightly embarrassed. She said it's open to the general public at 10am. First off this is not listed online, secondly how do you know if I have a high risk medical condition to COVID? They're profiling by your age. If someone is allowed in the store that is high risk between 9am and 10am why say anything if it's posted on the door. Take people as honest at that point. I actually am high risk. I don't abuse it by all means but this is insane. You cannot profile people like that. This by far has been the worse experience at Hobby Lobby. One they are jamming you up at the entrance and they're forcing you to basically blurt out you're high risk to enter. It's uncomfortable especially when other customers are around. I spoke with the manager Stacy and she clarified the policy. I respect what they're trying to do, I really do but I believe they're handling it wrong. Under HIPPA there should be some protection as far as disclosing your risks. read more

Store has amazing items. Isles we're perfectly big enough to go down. Great selection of wedding merchandise! Customer service is horrid! Our checker was rude and complained because we wrapped some of our glass items so that we could continue walking through the store and the cart wouldn't break them! I won't be back to this location! Hobby Lobby sucks. I have tried to go there a few times recently in the morning. The first hour they are open at 9am is for seniors or people over 60. I think that store has plenty of space for social distancing. Well since they didnt let me in there are other places to shop near by. This review is about the customer service at the Stockton Hobby Lobby only. I was in the Antioch HL on Saturday and picked up some clearance yarn. I called the Stockton HL on Monday to ask if they had marked down their yarn yet. I was on hold for 8 minutes and they dropped my call. I called back and they tried to put me through to fabric for 7 minutes. Finally talked to a person who was filling in in that department. She couldn't answer my question, so I asked for a manager. 10 minutes later, I was still waiting for the manager (it had become a mission), so I finally hung up. I know with COVID, customer service is down a bit, but that was 25 minutes that they had to work with. I will not be going to the Stockton Hobby Lobby ever! read more

Holy Crap this is a big place. Funny thing is it doesn't even take up the entire property. Anyhow, the have a ton of stuff. If you are into decorating or crafting then this is your place. They have frames and fabric and ingredients to make just about any craft in the world. They have a ton of fake flowers and holiday decorations. We actually got out Christmas tree here and it had to be ordered. The price was good but the service was just OK.. I had to go through an entire vetting process to ensure that the tree that arrived was actually mine and not meant for someone else because the person that called didn't keep track of who he called. It all worked out but it was a bad tasting experience. I just left this store without making my purchase after listening to the manager, Stacy, berate one of the employees for incorrectly stocking his area. She was much louder than necessary and went on and on. When I asked her if there was an area where she could have the conversation in private, like a professional manager is supposed to do, she merely gave me a fake smile, said "Thank you," and continued with her barrage of complaints. Against my better judgement and most principles, I went to Hobby Lobby on Arden in Sacramento. I wanted to purchase 2 bundles of white birch branches. The ENTIRE aisle was marked 50% off. The signs were posted every 2 feet. Standing at the register, we were told they were not on sale. A holier-than-thou employee decided that the birch branches were the ONLY items NOT 50% off. Hobby Lobby is truly a magical place; I'd have to say I was a bit overwhelmed on my first trip. I was with my d-i-l and we'd just finished our pedi and were on our way home to get ready for a wedding; probably not the best time for your first trip to the lobby. Stockton residents, I hope you can see the reality that Hobby Lobby can bring some much needed tax revenue to the City. This building has stood vacant for some 7+ years now since Mervyn's filed for bankruptcy. The adjacent small businesses that were anchored by Mervyn's fell prey to the lack of draw and most of them followed suit. Hobby Lobby has infused some new excitement into the Pacific Avenue/March Lane shopping experience and I for one am stoked! As a consumer, I appreciate the value of withholding my business when I don't agree with the way a corporation contributes to various causes,or doesn't comply with my personal idea of "political correctness". Where I draw the line is using a fun and functional forum like Yelp to organize a smear campaign against any business. Your review should be just that, a review. Talk about your shopping experience, the service, the selection, the prices, but if you haven't even gone to the store ( several 1 star "reviews" are from bay area yelpers and other area residents that obviously have never set foot in the any Hobby Lobby, let alone the Stockton store)and are only using yelp as a tool to get others to boycott the store, why on earth would you write a review in the first place? I purchased a metal mail holder that has a letter on it. When I decided to return it with the receipt exactly 7 days from when purchased, I was told by two employees that they do not sell items with any letters on it (ex "A"). I was confused because I purchased it exactly how I was returning it. I told them that there were more but with different letters. They called the manager which I was glad because she should know the various types of items the store sells. To my surprise she told me the same thing as the employees, that they don't sell items with painted letters on them. Throughout my entire experience I felt harassed and questioned numerous times. I told the manager to check the cameras from the moment I purchased the item to finally have them stop harassing me with the continuous comment. I came here looking for a glass display case I saw on their ad. Unfortunately, I left empty handed. I hate leaving empty handed and I really tried to find something else to buy (haha). I kept going in circles again and again and again and I just kept seeing junk and more junk. The reason I say junk is because on the vases and paintings, I saw the paint peeling off them. The hand made storages that looked like they were made of wood weren't real wood and the price was pretty steep. The products just seem very cheap to me. If you already know what you are looking for, this is a good place. If you need help, good luck. The workers here, especially in the framing department, are not well-informed. I wanted archival quality mats and they said they're all archival which is not true at all. I noticed some of their mats were not. If you care how your mats will affect your artwork, you need to know what you are using. Finally, I did not really care for how their "experts" answered my question and then walked away, not following up to make sure my question was answered. I'm giving the store one star only because I have to put something there in order to complete my review. Based on my experience at Hobby Lobby I shouldn't have to put a start at all. I was humiliated by the store manager Stacy who basically insinuated that I was stealing from the store. I was purchasing an item that was on clearance that I had verified with one of the store consultants. I took the item to the cashier after shopping for about 20 minutes or so, and to my surprise the cashier said that this particular item was not on sale or on clearance. I asked that she go check in the back because they're several exact mirrors in the aisle located together for the same price. After one of the other consultants check the item they came back with a similar mirror but indicated it was not on sale. I escorted her to the area Where I found the mirror and she said to the cashier " the price was as the customer had said." The manager Stacy then proceeded to go investigate herself as I walked with her she said to me - if all the mirrors are priced the same in the same location then that is the price, however when she got there and noticed that all of the mirrors were in the same location and were exactly the same with the clearance sign on it she snatched the clearance tag and tore it up and said I'm sorry this is a mistake. Stacy if you're reading this look at your video camera and find out what really happened. If the store wants to remain open and be considered as a morally and professional store then maybe consider training the management staff to be considerate of their costumers. This is my favorite arts/crafts store in town. Their prices are very reasonable & on top of that they always have a 40% off coupon you can apply to any purchase. The home/seasonal decor are my favorite areas to shop & selection is huge. Clean store, good prices, & friendly staff, but had to deduct 1 star for the time spent at checkout. No matter what time or what day I go the cashiers are super slow. There could only be 2 people in line ahead of me or even one & I'll be waiting in like for about 10-15 minutes (no exaggeration). They need to retrain their cashiers or just have more of them working because the wait time to checkout is ridiculous. read more

This is an updated review since my last visit. I was looking for a small bound notebook (w/o lines), just a plain little notebook. There was this employee guy, so rude. I went up to him and said Excuse me, can you tell me where you have blank notebooks? and he looks up at me, and says "we don't have any" and then looks back down at what he was doing. and I said, "well do you have any sketch books?" I figured this would be the closest to what I was looking for and he looks up to me and says "we may have some over there" and pointed to i don't know where..somewhere over there...clearly not helpful..and i walked away. rude guy. he couldn't tell me exactly where..so there I was, walking to the "over there" area he pointed to... FINALLY..i found the "over there" area where they had the sketch books.. they only had big gigantic ones.. I left w/o buying anything and headed to Target instead. Target didn't have them either..all they had was lined notebooks. I went home and figured I'd just use blank index cards, hole punch them, and tie them together for my own book. read more
