This place looks very tiny from the outside, but actually has a lot of stock. Don't be surprised if it always looks like a dud of a store judging by the cars in the parking lot; the "store hours" are pretty lame, even by Stockton standards. According to the Events Calendar, the store is CLOSED every weekday, except Friday, when it's open Noon-6pm. Oh, but not on Sept. 26, when it's CLOSED. Open Sat/Sun from 10:30am-5:00, but not on Sept 27-28, when it's CLOSED. Five classes are offered during this month, all of them on days the store is closed. So how is it that they're celebrating its 4-year anniversary? How much business is this store pulling in? By the way, did I mention they don't charge sales tax here? But to make up for it, the prices seem a little steep, even by scrapbooking standards. If you're looking for stickers, this place has lots of 'em. If you're looking for anything wedding-related, this place does not have 'em. At all. 12x12 paper is plentiful here, but a pain to look through, because they're displayed several layers deep per paper tray. Katie's provided tabs to separate the different patterns, and also has them separated by category (sports, beach, etc), but it's still very time consuming to look at all of it, especially if you're like me and don't go in with anything particular in mind. This is a great place for Disney stuff; LOTS of character stuff I hadn't seen before, and even Hannah Montana-type stuff. And don't forget to check out the side room for sale/clearance items. A scrapbook store is so hard to find these days, and I hope this store remains opened. They do have a fair amount of products, but I did find pricing a bit higher. I was particularly looking for the Heartfelt Collection. Prices were higher than getting it direct from Heartfelt and other places I've been to. I really take exception to the review written by Patty W. ! I think she happened on the store, made her judgements by exterior appearances (which really aren't bad but aren't "BAY AREA"), and never talked to Katie once she entered the store. Had Patty done that and asked questions, she may have learned why the hours are set as they are (this is the owner's avocation not her vocation) , why classes are scheduled when the store is closed (most of her customers cannot do day classes...evenings are good for them). As to Patty's comments about pricing...I am astounded! I find the prices better, in most cases, than even the "big box" stores like Joann's or Michaels. And certainly better than any of the other "local" (Elk Grove/Sacramento) stores. Not sure where Patty shops for her supplies-only on sale at Joann's with their limited supply? Moving on to paper...Katie's World's selection and variety is beyond amazing! But the space IS finite and so the paper has to be stacked with tabs by category or the store would have to be HUGE! I have sent people there looking for scrap booking paper for skydiving that they couldn't find anyplace else. Katie's has a phenomenal selection of state/country paper and I have referred folk there just for that for their post-vacation scrapbooks . And wedding paper and embellishments? Well, once again, Patty didn't take the time to ask where or if. I travel a lot and have been to scrapbook stores from California to Massachusetts and in between. I have yet to be in a store that has the overall selection of paper, embellishments and tools that Katie's World has. I may have been in stores that seem a bit better organized until I start looking around and realize that I've somehow gone from pets to baby and tools and back and cannot find what I saw during my first pass through. And then I try to find someone to ask. Therein lies the key to visiting a new store...Ask! If you are a scrapbooker or a paper-holic like me and are in the area, I would recommend stopping. Wow... just wow.... get ready world! I just found Katie's World! I first found this location on Yelp and had to stop by. Scrap booking stores are few and far between, especially now a days. We entered and we're greeted. I immediately noticed the 100s of Disney printed paper, stickers, etc. I was in shock! Halloween paper and stickers were not the greatest selection but certainly found deals and cute paper to bang out some cards for my friends. I will certainly be back! read more

I live in Sacramento, so this is a bit of a drive for crafting supplies, but Katie carries Heartfelt Creations (which you won't find at Michael's or JoAnn's). I'm taking a card making class right now and am having a blast. The store itself is clean, organized, and the items are the prices you'd expect for the specialty items sold. Katie's is the only scrapbook store to have survived the few years. There's a good reason. She has everything! She is friendly helpful & knowledgeable. She's also passionate about what she does. I have been in many scrap stores but few are as friendly or have the extensive stock that Katie does. She offers make & takes on Tuesday's. Numerous classes during the month as well as. Cropathons! The shop does look small on the exterior but don't let that deceive you! You will find gems here you will never find at chain stores...with added benefit of someone who really knows the product. I love Katie's World. I can't believe I had been living literally, 5 minutes away by car for almost a year before I knew about her store. Katie is really sweet. She always offers to help or even show you demos of new products that have just come in. I love all of the different scrapbook supplies she has. If I wasn't a poor college student I would definitely spend more $$ here. One Friday a month she has a girls night where you can scrapbook and bring food, and have fun with your fellow scrapbookers. I've been scrapbooking for over 13 years, Katie's place is priceless. Personal serve for directions and needed supplies for your scrapping project is Katie's speciality. Well with this ecomony, The new hours are for scrapbookers, to get their supplies, when the MAJORITY OF working ladies can make it in. I thankful that Katie's World is Open AT ALL, with so many personal shop owners going under. She has wonderful classes, a whole room of sale items that can't be MATCHED. SPECIAL HARD TO FIND STICKER!!!!!!! I go to Katie's for all my stickers. She has a "Girls Cropping Potluck" 3rd friday of the month. "Crop a thon" on Saturday with lunch included and prizes. She has a FANTASTIC selection of paper and embellishments, but the store only has so much room to hold all that stock. It can be very overwhelming to sift through all your options there. When I go in with a specific purpose, it's a great experience. read more

Katie's World is AWESOME. This store has anything and everything you could possibly want for scrapbooking. Their paper selection simply CANNOT be beat and their pricing is extremely reasonable. Another great thing Katie does is if you purchase the Katie's World pin, then that makes you eligible for extra discount savings during some of her special events. And trust me, you do not want to miss any of her special sales! Katie is wonderful and truly has a great eye for what's new and exciting in the scrapbooking market. She certainly stays current with a lot of the bigger and better company lines. If you are looking for something specific, just ask and she will know exactly where it is in the store. If there happens to be something you're looking for that she doesn't carry, all you have to do is ask and Katie will do what she can to bring it in. I live about 45 minutes away from Stockton so unfortunately I don't make it into her store as often as I'd like, but everytime I'm there I take full advantage of her great inventory. I once called her to see if she happened to have a certain themed paper that I didn't even know if it existed for a special project I was working on and was thrilled to find out she had it! Not only did she have it, but she also went above and beyond and met me at the store so that I could have it that day (the store was officially closed that day). Talk about great customer service! It's little touches like this that will always keep customers coming back. So long story short, I can't recommend Katie's World highly enough. I enjoy visiting this store, and can usually find something I like, but I do have a couple of things keeping me from giving it 4 or 5 stars. First, the store is closed frequently for various reasons. I drive 30 miles to get to Katie's, and it is frustrating to me to show up during her regular business hours, and the store is closed for the day. Second, there isn't a variety of classes and workshops. Basically, if you are a major Disney fan or lover of Heartfelt stamps, then you are golden! If not, find somewhere else to crop or take classes because that seems to always be the theme. While I love Disney, I do not want to listen Disney soundtracks for 8 hours while I crop or always have that be the theme of the crop. Maybe some variety would be good for those of us who do not eat, sleep and breathe Disney. Finally, the price point is a little high, but when you are the only nearby scrapbook store, then you can do that. Other than that, Katie's is definitely worth a visit, and I like to stop by when I am in the area. read more
