Decided to try something new in Edmond today that we hadn't been to before. This isn't our usual sandwich spot. We ordered the chicken Philly cheesesteak and the ribeye Philly cheesesteak. The staff was friendly, and the food came out quickly after a short wait. Unfortunately, we weren't very impressed. The Italian bread was a letdown. I think it would have been much better toasted, as it lacked texture and structure. Overall, nothing about the sandwich really stood out. I've definitely had better Philly cheesesteaks elsewhere. I also wish the ribeye hadn't been chopped up so finely. The texture almost resembled ground beef rather than sliced steak, which took away from the experience. I ordered fries with the meal, and they were just average. They honestly tasted similar to standard fast-food fries -- nothing bad, but nothing memorable either. Overall, I'd describe it as an average meal. It wasn't terrible, but it didn't stand out enough to make me want to return. read more

I'm normally not the one to write a bad review, but after my experience earlier this afternoon, things need to be said. The "Special Italian" was just sad. The meat to toppings ratio was horrible, the pasta salad was just ehh. Now for service I've never had an issue at the downtown location, but it was mainly lousy teenagers who were messing around, laughing and doing everything except make my food today, while other customers clearly hadn't had their food yet. It's been awhile since I'd eaten here. In fact one of the last times I was here the owner was still serving food. He talked to me about the old days living on the east coast and said he would be retiring and his daughter would be taking over. I can tell you he was a very friendly, personable man and the food was always hot and on point. Today I encountered a young man at the register, I asked about the special tomato pepper relish for my 12 Philly cheesesteak and what type of cheese was on it. He reassured me the relish is on the sandwich and walked over to the cheese station and picked up a piece with his bare hands showed me and put it back. After he rung up my order I asked him to not give me that cheese he picked up and would he wear gloves when fixing my sandwich. He politely said no problem. He did put on gloves, as l watched him. Thankfully the store was crowded. Overall the sandwich was good, I think the bread was homemade. I bought one 12" sub for $12 and my husband ate at least 8" of it. I will go back again but young folk have to keep the standard of the original owner. I liked the food but the previous standard of customer service was why I returned!!! read more

Where's the beef??? My hubby and I always enjoyed coming to Hobby's Hoagies for their delicious Philly steak sandwiches. Since the pandemic we haven't been able to come in and enjoy their sandwiches. We finally made it today and I was very disappointed at the lack of beef that was in our Philly steak sandwiches. There was more pizza sauce than beef. They have french fries on the menu but did not have french fries today, so we ordered potato salad which had an odd taste to it. Maybe they were having a bad day. read more

I had the Deluxe Philly style hoagie; while it wasn't the best I've had, it was good enough to satisfy that cheesesteak craving. Compared to the authentic cheesesteaks I've had in Philly, Hobby's was missing a little bit of the depth in flavor in their ribeye but it was still good. The nice, house-made bread was the highlight, while the ribeye was juicy and tender. read more

I was in the mood to try a new restaurant in Edmond and this was the winner. I also went out of my "usual" sandwich preference by going cold verses pressed and hot. Pretty impressed! I didnt realize this has been here for awhile, but decided to come buy for dinner with the family. Philly steak was great, cooked to order, with soft bread. They garnished with veggies and peppers and that slight pickle/spicy made the sandwich! Definitely put together well. Pizza, crust was thin, slightly chewy, with a crisp. Kids loved it and loved dipping it in ranch. Young kids working there so my husband didnt have much expectations, but he was pleasantly surprised! The pizza was thin crust and perfectly baked. The sauce was a little dry. We tried the BBQ chicken style. It was yummy, but could've been slightly more moist and cheesy. The bacon is crisp, ham and turkey were fresh, and I felt like I was back in The Hamptons eating at the small deli on the corner. The hoagie was authentic and delicious. This was a four-star experience for me due to the need for a deeper clean in the lobby, especially on a Monday evening. I would add that your dining room is often a reflection of your kitchen. Hobby's hoagies has a lot of perks. Their menu has tons of options, so you can make anyone happy. Pizza? Yes. Sandwiches? Yes. Spaghetti? Yes. Dessert? Yes. They move food really quickly. My go to order is a reuben with pastrami instead of corned beef. The rye is a good quality, but I've never asked where they order it from. I get it... COVID... but I ordered an Italian hoagie and received lettuce and peppers on bread. After further inspection, there was some meat... two pieces of meat. One ham, one salami. Brought it to the front and the teenagers that made it said they were told to put one slice of each meat on a 7in hoagie. So all in all, the lettuce and pepper hoagie was mediocre. Seriously tho - been coming here for years and this has never been a thing. I've been wanting a good hearty sandwich, and this place did not disappoint!! The service was beyond amazing super helpful and just nice. This place is like a hole in the wall if you blink to fast you'll miss it. The offer pizza, philly cheese sandwich's, regular sandwiches and much more. The drinks are self serving not that many options but just enough to get you by. They have booths and tables to sit in and enjoy your food and with the restrictions going on right now (covid) they do accommodate everything really well. We recently moved to Edmond and Hobby's is right around the corner from our house. It's a family owned sandwich shop you'd picture in New York. My husband absolutely loves their Ruben and the Philly Cheesesteak. My daughter demolished the spaghetti and meatball. My favorite is their Stromboli. So good packed with cheese, meats, peppers, onions, and mushrooms. The crust is light and buttery sprinkled with Italian seasoning. It's one of the best I've had.
