I like McAlester's. I truly do. I am gluten-free so I order a sandwich on gluten free bread which is a $2 up charge. I get the sandwich and it is so small because I was given the end of the loaf. I know because they turned the heal of the loaf backwards to make the sandwich. The sandwich bread was about 3 inches by 4 inches. Very small. At first I thought the bread was toasted. Nope, it was stale. The edges were very hard. Btw it's happened before. Imagine that any average person went there, ordered a sandwich and were told, Oh by the way it will be very small, stale and cost $2 extra. You would be pissed but that's what gluten free people deal with. So either give us decent bread, or don't charge extra, or don't advertise you have gluten free! Nice clean big interior with lots of seating available. The server and cashier were both friendly and attentive -- the server came by multiple times for drink refills. The food came out super fast, within 5-8min it felt like! I got the spicy jalapeño turkey sandwich, which was pretty delicious! Creamy avocado with melted pepper jack with crunchy jalapeño chips with turkey and nice soft bread. The Mac and cheese was alright - better than box Mac and cheese but nothing fancy. My husband got the angus beef sandwich which seemed meh. It was cut up into four small triangles, which reminded me of a little kid elementary school lunch. Never been to this location before and was in the area so I thought I'd stop by to grab a quick bite. I've been to other locations before and I would have to say this place was quite busy. It was around 1:30 pm on a Monday! Still plenty of seats but rustling and bustling. I ordered a McAlister Club with a side of Mac & Cheese and chips. I put my drink and table number on the table, quickly ran to the restroom and BOOM my food was there! VERY VERY QUICK SERVICE. They did forget my spoon lol but it was easy to ask someone for one. I asked him to pick me out a meal with no tomatoes and no sugar cookies as the only parameters...He at this time was running the front and quite well. Well, well well... How the turn tables... Eight years ago, I wrote a [*][*][*] review for the McAlister's Deli in Edmond, OK where I basically said that the food was average, and I kinda complained about prices. Obviously, my opinion of McAlister's has flipped from "it's average" to "it's fantastic." So what changed? I became a parent. Do you understand how amazing it is, being able to feed your children for $1 (per child)? One! Dollar! And the $1 food isn't fast food quality garbage either. It's $3 if you take the food to go, which is still fantastic for a kids meal. Not only that, McAlister's prices have stayed relatively steady when considering food inflation. Eight years ago, I was looking at the menu and complaining, "... Man, the sandwiches are $8." This was back when I was a broke graduate student, and we all thought Jared Fogle was someone we should look up to (when foot-longs were still $5). Now I'm looking at the menu thinking, "... Meh, the sandwiches are only $8." Actually, they're $8 + $1 for each of my children. You guys, that can't be stated enough... They give your child a full-sized sandwich and a side. Oh, and a cookie. For $1. One!!! Dollar!!! The food is also pretty good, all things considered. As you can tell from all the pictures I've uploaded, I've tried my fair share of the menu at this point, and would pretty much order most of the items again (except a couple of things). Also, another thing that has stayed consistent from when I was a poor student: Unlimited tea. Also, great customer service. Lastly, their smartphone app is really easy to use, and has a pretty decent rewards system. Which... I mean, free food, so why not? McAlister's, I can't even begin to describe how much I appreciate you. I'm a huge fan of McAlister's so of course I'm going to give them perfect review. This is my preferred go to location even though it's a bit away from my house. I like this location because they are the only location that doesn't mess up my orders the numerous of times I've come and they're the only location that puts honey mustard on the McAlister's club like they're supposed to. The other location in Edmond doesn't put any dressing on the McAlister's club and if you don't ask for honey mustard you're stuck with a dry sandwich. Sadly, I know this because I order this every single time with their pecan berry salad that is just amazing. I have no shame to admit to eat here too much. I know what my belly love. Will definitely eat at McAlister's again in the future and recommend it to everyone. Their lemonade and tea are a must try. If you're feeling spunky I'd grab one of their fresh baked cookies on my way out for desserts... very delicious! read more

Lesa was extremely nice, helpful and just friendly. The cranberry Orange club was delish but there were issues. Almost all of my meat was in about 60% of the bread, leaving a lot of dead bread. Actually, it also saved me a lot of calories. The macaroni and cheese was decent but lukewarm. I even called another McAlister's to see how it should be served and it was supposed to be hot. The Cinnabon cookies are excellent. One of the things I found especially bothersome is I had a card from another McAlister's for a complimentary meal because that order had also been messed up. I moved to Edmond a little over two years ago, and I was super stoked to have a McAlister's close by because it was a family favorite for a burger alternative and I love the tea. During Covid days we would door dash and noticed that our orders were frequently wrong, missing items, wrong items, and the quality that we had been accustomed to from our McAlistors in Kentucky was just not there. We chalked it up to staffing and Covid issues. Didn't make a fuss. Then late last year we placed an order and it just flat out got "lost". It didn't get lost from our bank account however. Took us three days to straighten out the mess. I swore this location off. Until today. I'm at home with bronchitis and a soup and Sammy sounds pretty good. I placed my order on the app and drive down to get it. The order is ready when we arrive, I send my son in to get it because I am doing well to just get there. We get home and wouldn't you know it, the order is wrong. They left a side off. The "world famous" tea has no tea flavor, tasted like iced sugar water and the lemon that I ordered was missing. I thought about moving on and just writing them off again, but damn it, this was 4/4 of the last orders that I have placed that were wrong. Had a very interesting visit to this McAlister's. I did an online order via the McAlister's app and I didn't realize until after I got back home that I had a sandwich missing and the cup of rotel dip that came with my ultimate machines wasn't even filled up half way. So I went back to the restaurant and told them the situation, and not only did they fix the missing sandwich and rotel dip but they gave me a free King Club in addition.
