RC cars, trains, planes and automobiles oh my! This place has soooo much stuff for all your hobby needs. We came in today in search for a RC type car that you could put together for a motorcycle. We really couldn't find anything that we liked so we ended up getting a Lego set to make a Mercedes. This was for a 13 yo birthday gift. He did really like it. We were greeted upon entering by a young lady walking around the floor checking to see if customers needed any help finding anything. Super disappointed in this store and will no longer give them business. After doing extensive research on a trx4 F150 high country and visiting the store multiple times we purchased $800 truck, additional batteries etc for our son for his birthday. We told the guy he wanted blue, assumed we had the right one as 2 sides of the box show a blue one and one side shows brown until he opened it on his birthday and as soon as he pulled it out we saw it was black. We immediately put it back in the box didn't even take plastic off or anything. My husband stepped away from his birthday party on a Sunday and called the shop. Instead of trying to rectify the situation for an 8 year old on his birthday they just wanted to reiterate they don't take returns. This was not our error this was not a return we simply wanted to exchange for the blue one my son wanted. Used to do business at this store when it was located in Tampa. Finally got out the new Wesley chapel location and sadly it looks like a shell of its former self. Hardly any RC products on the shelf. Sad selection of kits, RTR, body shells, tires etc. Hopefully they can get back to their former glory. read more

They don't participate in the Traxxas upgrade program. The employees were uninformed and not pleasant to deal with. Then someone named Milka said she doesn't tolerate customers like me. Trust me ANY hobby store is better than this one read more

The guys working here were very knowledgeable, very friendly, didn't make me feel silly for not knowing something, we're happy to answer my questions and had a good sense of humor! It's nice to walk in a store, be greeted with a smile, and see employees who don't act and talk as if they are miserable. I will DEFINITELY be back! read more

At first they treated me like family! But out of the blue, boom! The customer service from this ONE guy became ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE! For some reason he's normally a nice guy but ultimately was a jerk the last couple of times I went. Gave me the run around (from store to store) on getting my parts replaced on my Slash! I've spent closer to $2,000 at this store but now, Ive taken my business elsewhere. read more

This was my first time checking out one of these places. They have a lot of stuff inside. I was really just killing time so I just browsed. There are trains sets, model car building sets, as well as planes, towns and boats. It was pretty cool. I just have to say the people into these hobbies have to have some cash because the stuff wasn't cheap. I guess it's about what the stuff costs because they are staying in business as there was a good amount of people in the store. I ended up with a puzzle lol. Oh there was also some vintage board games like my childhood favorite mall madness. If you're into the hobby thing you should definitely check this place out they have a lot of different things to choose from. read more

Great experience. All the people were very knowledgeable on the body's, paints and the R/C cars themselves and where very nice. They even told me the best ways to paint the body with the type of paints and clear coat to make the paint last the longest. All and all would definitely go here again and will recommend to all my friends and family. read more

Highly would not recommend. Customer service sucks. The manger doesn't know a goddamn thing and is a complete dingbat. I've Been there 6 times to get one car fixed and it's come back broke or works for a short period Of time. I have another car there and I've been waiting 3 weeks for a part to come in but yet I can order the same part and it come within 4 days. They let people who don't know what they're doing work on customers cars and don't over look their work to see if they're doing it correctly. The one car I got back had loose screws and worked for about 15 minutes before breaking again. read more

Be careful of the people that work here. I took a drone in here to be repaired, documented all the equipment they took and the person signed the paper. It took them three months to fix the drone, which I understand if they are busy. However when I went back to get the drone they did not return the battery. When I asked them where it was they LIED and said I never gave it to them. I went home and got the paperwork and showed them the intake form, on it said there was a battery with it. At which point they said they would need to speak with the owner. It took them a week with me calling them everyday or going in, for the manager to get back with me. On one of the times I made a copy of the form saying they took the battery. The manager finally called me back when he did he said He did not care what the paper said and they would not return my equipment. I can not say this enough, do not trust these people, they will lie to you and they will steal from you if they get the chance. Question everything they say to you, Question everything they do. read more

First let me say that I have been building, racing, and designing RC cars for over 35 years. Several years ago, and under previous management, I used to go to this store rather frequently. I would say I spent over $100 a month there easy in parts and things for a couple of years, till I moved. Christmas Eve 2016 I called because I would be coming to the area for a visit and I needed some wheels and tires. I spoke to their RC parts guy telling him exactly what I had and what I needed for it. An Associated RC10T4.1 and I needed wheels and tires front and rear. After holding for a little while he came back and told me that it would be at the front counter ready for me to pick up. I was running late for the dinner appointment so I ran in rather fast and the tires and wheels were at the front counter. At a glance it all looked good. I paid and left. The next day I was fixing the truck so I got out the wheels and opened one of the sets of tires only to find that the tires were for a 2.8 inch rim not the 2.2 inch rims that go on the T4.1 truck. Not a huge problem I have many other cars I can run. When I was heading back home I went by the store to exchange the tires to get the right ones. I was told that since I had opened the bag they would not accept them back. I told her the facts and that her employee had given me all the products and they did not work together. So in fact it is the fault of the employee that I had wrong parts. The manager completely did not care at all. Her employees dont make mistakes like that I guess. I will never go there again. Now I then found a store in University Square Mall called My Tobbies. They not only stock more stuff but they took the opened bag of tires and gave me credit toward a few bodies I was buying. I purchased an R/C car for my 7 y/o son for Christmas and the staff was extremely helpful and patient in helping me get the best car I could get for my son. The car had some technical issues beyond the responsibility of Hobby Town, however they took ownership of the issue and rectified it 200 percent. I took my son and his broken car back to Hobby Town gearing up for resistance from the staff since he was was crying only 1 day after Christmas because he thought his new toy was ruined, however my son walked out of the store saying how cool hobby town is and couldn't stop talking about how thankful he was that "Victor" brought his car back to life for him. To make it even better they performed all the work gratis to make things right. They proved that their worth doing business with again and they have earned a repeat customer. read more

Cool looking place.... Convenient located and the only place that has Rc repair and replacement parts that I know in town

I purchased two RC Cars both shown with an upgraded charger. Open them at home only one car had it. Called the owner and his resolution was come in a buy one at a negotiated price. He told me that is the way they are being shipped, and that is the best he could do. You also find out they will not do refunds after you open the box, how do you know there is an issue if you don't open the box? Any way I contacted the company who quickly agreed to ship a charger at no cost. My disappointment is tow fold, 10 the owner should have made that call on my behalf. 2) they return policy is not reiterated and clearly posted before you buy. I suggest buying with a credit Card, at least you can dispute if you need to, I paid cash and was at the owner mercy. read more
