Mike and Angelyne are the best in the business! I have been taking my 2yo dobie Julio to Hochburg K9 since he was 13 weeks old. Mike has done everything: ear postings, general care, boarding, vaccinations and neuter appointments, obedience training and now on to service dog certification. As a first time Doberman owner (and dog owner!) I honestly don't know where I would be without Mike and Angelyne. Hochburg K9 dobies have a distinct look, temperament and demeanor that has been crafted through decades of experience. I get stopped nearly every day I am out with Julio, by people asking me who his trainer and breeder is. Mike and Angelyne feel like family now. With Hochburg K9 you are not just getting a breeder or a trainer. You are getting an expert resource throughout the lifetime of your Doberman. I can't say enough good things about this family-owned business. Thanks again Hochburg K9!!

Mike is truly the best in the business. If you want a trainer that will walk you through each step of the training, explain each goal, and produce real results, MIKE IS THE GUY!!! I was nervous at first and didn't know what to expect but was so incredibly impressed with Mikes knowledge and personal connection with our Dobie. If you want commitment and follow through, there's no one better! We drive 2.5 hours just to train at Hochburg every month. He is the real deal and will get your dogs certified and disciplined. Train with the Guru, you won't be disappointed. Thank you Mike!!

I can't recommend Hochburg enough! Mike is a such an amazing trainer! My husband and i swear he must talk to dogs because he makes training so easy for our family. He makes sure to go step by step and gets both myself and my husband involved so we are the ones learning. My pup has been a breeze due to them. Not to mention how fun each training session can be. If you are on the fence about it... do it! You won't regret!

Mike is truly the Doberman whisperer, and is an amazing wealth of knowledge. We went to Mike because of all the wonderful reviews we read on yelp for post cropping ear care. He did such an amazing job w the posting. Every visit was not only getting our dog ears taken care of, but also a learning experience for us because we could ask questions and get recommendations on how to handle circumstances that were happening around the house with our puppy. If you're getting your Doberman's ears cropped, do yourself a favor and take your dog to Mike for the first year posting, or shortly after they've been cropped to get it done correctly. We just completed our first training session with Mike and was blown away at what he was able to accomplish in such a short period of time. I couldn't recommend Mike highly enough.

Mike is THE man for everything Doberman related. We would visit Mike every 4-6 days during the ear posting process for our pup Optimus and didn't mind the 1.5-2hr drive because he was an open book of knowledge and it is clear how much he cares about your dog and family dynamic. My wife & I have had over 10 dogs together through the years but Optimus is our 1st Doberman. Mike has guided us through the various challenges to Doberman ownership to ensure we reap the benefits of this great breed. After only 3 training sessions so far, Optimus is more trained & disciplined than a lot of dogs we encounter. With Mike's help, Optimus has been a great addition to our family. If you love your Doberman, go see Mike!

Mike and Ang are the best!I got Champ from Mike and he does a great job with everything (breeding, ears, and training). Always super responsive and has an incredible knowledge of Dobermans. Can't recommend them enough!

We've known Mike since 2019 when Titan was just a puppy. He did his ear postings and has boarded him 2 or 3 times a year since then. We don't trust anyone else but Mike to take care of our baby. Mike is always available to take a call or text if something ever comes up. He treats Titan like part of his pack. I joke about Titan going there for his tune ups , but he really does. We make the 45 minute drive to Mike to make sure Titan gets the best treatment and love.

Every business should be doing exactly what mike is doing with his. Let's start off with excellent customer service,, from scheduling to explaining everything he is doing to my dog diesel. 2. The work that he did on diesel is absolutely amazing, I get compliments on them all the time 3. The process is easy and comforting to my dog! 4. My dog got used to getting his nails done with mike and now is fine with me doing them I could keep going on and on but you get the point, if you have a doberman please please Don't hesitate and book an appointment with mike.

10 week old Palomá getting her sutures removed by thee best! Time to heal and then let the ear posting games begin, trust the process.

We have not started the ear posting quite YET, to occur this week so I wanted to get this review out there but just note it is a work in progress & will be updated with an overall review once services have been completed HOWEVER, I did not want to shy away from giving this man the 5 stars that he oh so deserves. Upon first communicating with Mike, he has made our entire experience so smooth, we could not ask for a easier interaction with a professional. He is always so prompt to return our text messages, calls, you name it! Upon visiting him to get sutures removed, his property is very clean, well maintained and he is extremely professional. He is like an open book of knowledge. Dobermans are his THING and there is no other man like him. This is his speciality and you can tell the amount of time, love and training this man has gone thru, it's unmatchable! Any question you may possibly think of...Mike has the answer. We appreciate you Mike & look forward to getting our baby girl's ear posting started. We are confident her ears are going to turn out just PERFECT!!!!

What would we do without Hochburg K9 and Mike's expertise?! Our 2 yo dobie, Apollo, is the son of Mike's dobie, Leo. We have gone to Mike since Apollo was a pup for ear postings, training, and now service dog certification. Mike is a third generation Doberman breeder and trainer and is so in tune with the dogs. We honestly don't trust any other trainers because they just don't understand Dobermans like he does. Every time we get a training session, Apollo improves by leaps and bounds. Working with Mike is truly an investment that keeps paying off. So grateful for Hochburg K9!!

Mike is very knowledgeable and is supportive during your endeavor.

"Boot camp" options seemed extreme, so I called Bark Busters (BB), seeking in-home private lessons. Justin responded the same day I left a message, and we talked about my concerns with our new rescue. I decided to try the BB program, which ended up being the BEST DECISION for my pup and for me! Justin set up our first session with trainer/coach James. James spent much of the 1st session going through the goals, objectives and concepts of training, including a timeline based on reasonable expectations of my dog. James spent a lot of time explaining how to "read" my dog's behavior, and how to properly respond. He explained the concepts behind each step, which helped me to understand not just what to do, but why (thus enabling me to understand how to deploy the training to different situations). James also set up scenarios to practice, going through each step so I could gain confidence in what my role is while helping my dog settle. It really is about training the owner how to work with the dog. James provided summaries of each session, plus videos demonstrating how I can use different responses/techniques to reshape how my dog reacts to stressful situations. I saw significant progress very early in the training, and was surprised at how quickly we were able to help my dog understand his role (and to feel safe) in our home. The best part is that if I need more help, I just have to reach out to James/BB and schedule more sessions - this is included in the initial program. Given that it takes a rescue dog a while to COMPLETELY settle in, new issues could arise as time passes, and if so, all I have to do is call to set it up. In summary, Bark Busters is a GREAT dog training program, and James is a FANTASTIC BB trainer/coach! Definitely recommend BB to owners that want help with their dogs!

Are they under new ownership? What has changed?…read more We've used Camp Run-A-Mutt several times over the years for overnight boarding and have always had a great experience, which is why this recent stay was so surprising. When making the reservation, I noticed that a few of my dog's vaccinations would expire during his stay. We took care of getting them updated weeks in advance and made sure the vaccination certificates were sent to Camp Run-A-Mutt. I even confirmed with a staff member at the front desk that they had received everything and that my dog was all set for his stay. A few days before our trip, I received a call saying my dog was missing vaccinations. I asked which ones, and of course they were the very vaccinations we had already updated and submitted. I explained that they had the records, the employee put me on hold, then came back and confirmed everything was in order and said they'd see him on Thursday. Then things got even more frustrating. On Thursday, as I was landing in another state for my vacation, my daughter--who was dropping my dog off before catching her own flight--called me in a panic. She was being told they couldn't accept him because his rabies vaccine wasn't up to date. I immediately called the facility and explained that we had already confirmed his records twice. The employee put me on hold, checked the records, and sure enough, they had his current rabies certificate the entire time. They admitted everything was up to date and accepted him. A few days later, while we were still out of state, I received another call saying my dog was being quarantined and separated from the other dogs because his vaccinations supposedly weren't current. At this point, this was the third time in less than a week that the exact same issue had come up. I again explained that his vaccinations were current and that their staff had already confirmed this multiple times. The employee put me on hold and never came back to the phone. Thankfully, my daughter was only a few hours away and was able to rush over and pick him up. When I called to pay for his stay over the phone and let them know he was being picked up, I was initially told they couldn't accept payment over the phone. That was confusing because I've paid over the phone for previous stays without any issue. When I asked if it was a new policy, the employee admitted it wasn't--they just didn't know how to process a phone payment. They had to get someone else to help before I was finally able to pay. I'm honestly not sure what's changed, but the organization and communication were completely different from the excellent service we've received in the past. The repeated confusion over vaccination records--which they already had on file and repeatedly confirmed--caused unnecessary stress while my family was traveling out of state and ultimately resulted in our dog being removed from daycare and picked up early. We've always been happy with Camp Run-A-Mutt, which is why this experience was so disappointing. I hope this was just an isolated breakdown in communication, but based on our recent experience, I no longer feel confident leaving my dog there.
