After 20+ years of unrelenting pain, multiple surgeries, procedures and treatments, I have finally found help. Dr Swain listened to me, really listened. He developed a plan to help me manage my pain and get busy living again. I was skeptical for years of the pain management drs. This giy, Dr Swain, actually offered different approaches. He has helped me tremendously. Am I 100%, no. But I will take his advice into my future. Pain pills are not the only option. Thank you to Dr Swain and his entire staff. God Bless you all read more

I'm not going to write a long review.... This is the worst emergency room that I have ever had to visit. They literally did nothing for me and I ended up going to Lancaster the next day. I was undergoing surgery within 24 hours of admission in Lancaster. I do wish that they would try to train their nursing staff to learn to be compassionate with patients! I sat in a room for 2 hours once (Early morning hours) listening to the staff verbally berate an older woman that was mentally incompetent. Sad....... read more

I took my wife last night (Sept 20, 2024) to the ER for severe disinesss to the point she had over 10 episodes that day alone with lightheadedness and possibly falling and further hurting her surgically repaired back and costing her her life. So anyways, I checked her in and I had to run back home for a personal matter. However I made them aware before I left that she was not safe to sit on the chairs because of the openness and her swaing and falling. They didn't seem interested, go figure. 2 hours later, mind you the parking lot was empty as was the ER lobby. Completely empty. For awhile. So 2 hours later nothing was done other than registration. No wheel chair or anything. No nurse. People were showing up far after her going back and s dew actually leaving. So I'm like, nope! I jail AZZ back to the ER. I tell her let's go in the corner. There were 2 women chatting behind the glass. One came out to the big doors, and I remembered that stupid sign about cussing at staff. Which is just a way to be silenced and intimidated when openly critiquing the staff for their shortcomings. I said to the lady, with all due respect. And no "swear words" this is the most INCOMPETENT, MISMANAGED sorry ass excuse for a hospital I ever seen. I said we're going home. She ain't sitting here dealing with your bullshit**t! She said what's your wife's name? I said figure it out. BUT THEN AGAIN YOUR INCOMPETENT. I SAID, at this point cussing. But not in a threatening way. I was respectfully upset and had every right to be. Like most of the people there. I was walking my wife out and I said, INCOMPETENT! BTW THANKS FOR PERMANENTLY DAMAGING MY FOOT NEVERS BECAUSE YOU'RE NURSES DONT KNOW HOW TO TAKE OUT SIMPLE FN STITCHES. I SHOULD SUE! Then at that point I made a few more comments about the integrity and condition of the hospital and the cheap, decrepit problems that were very obvious, on top of the staff, speed, concern, training, empathy, wherethol. Just horrible. Horrible. And trust me hospitals are a bad trigger for my mental health. But this sorry excuse for a place that is supposed to care about their patients and provide the best treatment all the way around and show empathy and concern is as disgusting as the hospital walls, floors, ceilings and everything else. They fd up my foot. They didn't treat a severe anxiety not long ago. The staff has made comments freely and openly of the hospital not being provided "the best tools to do their JOBS"! PRETTY MUCH BAD EXPERIENCE AFTER BAD EXPERIENCE. THAT HOSPITAL, AND I USE THE WORD HOSPITAL LOOSELY, IS JUST PATHETIC! PATHETIC! this place is so slow, i've been sitting in this room for 40 minutes with no doctor to be seen. i came to the Urgent Care unit for my ear infection and possible sinus infection and i haven't been helped at all. i have also had to wait in the waiting room about 3 times now. read more

Not good would be a understatement so I write this as the only five star review so it will be seen, I personally have asthma and have went there and stated exactly what I need, "I am having a asthma attack I can hardly spit these words out I need a breathing treatment" and they get to me within minute, ER however took that statement and tried to give me a steroid shot instead before I refused it. ALSO this is my first and probably last review on this sight, my wife just came back having a panic attack because she went into the ER with a shattered tooth sobbing, they got her in a room in the corner and treated the person next too her, ( which is understandable because that woman was there first) but she did not see one nurse or doctor from 6am to 7:30am, she stormed out having a panic attack because the nurses in the ER between 6am and 7:30 am were mocking her sobs of pain by stating "it's okay I can tune it out now" along with other comments and laughs, this was completely unprofessional and I am getting ahold of the director for the unprofessionalism in their ER department, another cherry on top for those who read this, a friend of mine who grew up here also in Logan along side me, went to Logan hospital multiple times with severe headaches, they brushed her off every single time with ibuprofen 800s, she Passed away a few days later after the fifth or sixth time going for serve headaches and migraines, it turns out she had multiple brain tumors but they never scanned her brain for any activity. I will Still go here to the clinic, the "emergency room" is a unprofessional and laugh and cackle, while you wait to get treated on their time, you might even get a nice mocking to the point you have a panic attack as a kicker. Make no mistake the clinic does give out ibuprofen like skittles to solve their problem, but if you have asthma or a broken bone the clinic will have you in and out no problem, Emergency room on the other hand needs actual restaffing, they treat their patients like a mental asylum, keeping them (patients) in rooms for hours, no nurse to great you, no doctor to shake your hand, you only hear their conversations in the silence of the emergency room because unless it's life threatening even the locals avoid the emergency room because they do not care, just incase you missed it or didn't read it, me and my wife just experience first hand how they mock their patients and treat them when they are sobbing, no nurse came to see what was happening, why someone was sobbing, no doctor came to see what was happening or why someone was sobbing. The female nurses working between 6am To 7:30 am so not care about their jobs or patients, my wife wasn't seen just stuck in a room listening to them mock her and cackle as they did it without checking on her sending her into a immediate panic attack. I only thank the nurses in the emergency room for two things, mocking my wife while she's in sobbing pain and can hardly speak and not caring about their job enough to even check on someone that was sobbing for a hour and a half but instead make fun of her with the exact words "oh it's fine I can tune it out now, I thank emergency room for this so I can make this review and contact the director of the hospital because the emergency room needs new staff to replace the female bullies they have hired. I only pray to god that people see this and not go to the emergency room unless you're actually dying, P.S. they have a grant that will pay for your hospital bill but they don't tell you about it you have to ask for it, I guess it's just a little extra love from Logan Ohios only hospital, since the emergency room is still open at this time we went to Lancaster were we have never had a bad experience! Thank you Logan ER! I know I'll die if it's life threatening and I'm better off making a twenty to thirty minute drive while suffocating from asthma than to come to their emergency room. I would have left a zero star if possible. This was by far the worst hospital experience myself or my parents ever had. All the staff, except for two, were awful and the hospital doesn't even have the equipment necessary to care for its patients. Exact definition of a bandaid hospital and it's a poor excuse for that as well. They had to intubate a family member and we were told that if they didn't get him out of there that he most likely wouldn't make it. They put the vent in wrong twice and when I questioned it, they said it wasn't wrong and they did it right. Almost 5 hrs after we were told he needed transferred , med flight came and within 5 minutes they identified that, in fact, the vent was in incorrectly and they had to fix it. The nurses were very rude and didn't come in to check on the family member. One nurse only came in when med flight showed up and acted like she was helpful when she was completely useless. One male nurse and the front desk woman were amazing. Everyone else, including the doctor, should be ashamed of themselves for their behavior, and lack there of, towards patients and their families. read more

I waited over 4 hours. Did not even see a Dr. The Nurse ordered labs finally came back in and said labs are ok. And told me to go home. Was in horrible pain and it wasn't even addressed. I will Never have anything done there and will never go there in an emergency or anything else. They are the worse place to get medical help Ever! read more

I used to love Hocking valley community hospital, but recently have been so disappointed with them. They have inept billing, and refusal to work with their patients to get to an agreement, they would rather send to collections with Meade and associates that will harrass you, yell at you, and scream at you and threaten you than actually help the patient. During covid 19, they have decided to take things a step further and sue me for medical bills. I am an RN, a front liner, risking my life, but apparently Hvch needs money right now! They want to garnish my wages and here's the worst part, this is from 2013 and to my understanding was already taken care of. I am beyond disappointed! If I had medicaid, these bills would be done, but since I'm working, I'm penalized. I will never ever recommend this hospital again. They have adamant refusal to work with anyone in regards to payments. Their CEO and CFO would rather have money. Patient care has gone out the window at Hvch. Sincerely disappointed read more

This place is a band aid hospital. My dad went in to this hospital today cause he thought he could be having a heart attack which he had three so far but his main complaint was that he was having teariable back pain. They did a work up on his heart. EKG and blood work said he didn't have a heart attack but gave him nothing for his back pain. They say they are a five star rating hospital well I can't believe that with the care I've gotten there. All they really want is money. They get paients in and then get them out as soon as possible. read more

They don't have a Zero rating so I'm obliged to give HVCH a "1" star. I laid on an ER gurney for 4 hours with no attendance; no water, no pillow, no blanket, and no one stopping in to check on me. Truth. Another time I'd injured my back so bad I could not walk. Once again, put in and Urgent Care room. No pillow, no blanket, no water and no one checking in on me for 1.5 hours until the took me for an x-ray. Now I'm in the pain management clinic and they can neve remember anything about my case. I see them once every two months and take minor medications. We are treated generically, much like cattle and the make changes without notice, have no individual treatment plans, and double charge, once for the facility and once for the MD. I've neve met the MD Dr. Swain. Do NOT go to this hospital. make the trip to Lancaster and visit Fairfield Medical Center instead. If you have an emergency make sure the Ambulance Driver knows NOT to take you to HVCH. I wear a wrist band indicating I will bring charges against any ambulance service that drops me off at HVCH. read more

I would not send my dog to this Hospital, The are very unproffessional, and They do not know how to do there job, especially billing, They have garnished My son wages, after a year of trying to get the problem resolved, the simply refused to take any sort of payments that he could offer, he had filled out hcap forms and they threw them away and did not turn them in, when we tryed to talk to them about it, they would do nothing about it, They did it to my other son also, and he had a medical card, we went to them and had to fix the problem, and they will not take it off his credit history, even though he has proof he had a medical card. also every time we go in there they only give u nose spray and send u a bill for over hundreds of dollars, I really think this Hospital needs investigated, and I know i am not the only one complaining about it, they have no review box on the facebook page you can only comment, so tell me they r hiding something. im gonna counter sue them for falsefication. because they will not remove my one sons , they even said they didnt put it in the system that he had a medical card, next time Im recording them will they refuse anything.
