Dr, Hodes is super nice and very good at putting you at ease, and his staff is nice, attentive, and very helpful. Their office hours are also pretty varied, which is helpful for scheduling around work-- I've managed to squeeze in some very last minute end of day appointments, and they have always been very accommodating for my hectic schedule. My family has been under the care of Dr. Hodes for the last 6 years. He's always extremely patient, friendly and takes the time to connect with you personally. Our last appointment was a true testament to Dr. Hodes as a professional as he patiently tested the vision of my almost 4 year old who often wasn't thrilled with identifying pictures and letters over and over. It's easy to miss Dr Hodes practice. I've driven past it a thousand times and it is hidden by a tree. I found him on Yelp and I am so happy I did. The staff are top notch, there is parking at the back of the building, and more importantly Dr Hodes is great. He takes his time and has a lovely manner. I am lucky not to have major issues, however working on the computer was taking a toll and felt I needed to get checked out. I had that "Oh, I can see clearly!" moment. I decided to change my eye doctor because my previous doctor, through Cedars-Sinai, was a bit further than I wished to travel and their service left a bit to be desired. Dr. Hodes' office was an excellent choice considering it was so conveniently located to me. As far as the service, it was stellar. The doctor spent an entire hour with me, discussing my vision and checking the health of my eyes. He was very pleasant to talk with and treated me like a human not an ATM. I learned about his family and about him as a person. Very pleasant and endearing individual. The doctor even went above and beyond the call of duty by recommending certain lifestyle and dietary choices to improve my vision now and well into the future. I look forward to having my wife and daughter visit his office as well. Lastly, Dr. Hodes has some of the nicest front office ladies I have ever encountered. Haven't been to see Dr. Hodes for a while, I forgot what a genuinely nice guy he is and what great office staff he has. The all make you feel like you are part of the family. Dr. Hodes is very knowledgeable and explains everything he is doing and gladly answers any question you might have, you never feel like your being rushed. Living in L.A., sometimes its hard to find great customer service and knowledgeable office staff, so its refreshing to find a place that truly is glad you are in their office. Keep up the great job. I just logged on here get the office hours for Dr. Hodes office and almost felt obligated to update my review, (even though I gave them 5 stars several years ago). I only feel this way because they always go so far above and beyond for me. When I first started coming to this office, I lived close by, but shortly after I moved to the valley so getting to this office is not exactly convenient, but he is so patient, thorough, my prescriptions are always perfect, and his staff is so sweet and accommodating, that there is just NO way I would go anywhere else. He treats me, my 84 year old mother, and my son, and his calm manner is perfect for each of us. A lot of my friends used to think I'm crazy not to find someone closer to home - until they see how attentive this office is. A lot of those same people that thought I should find someone closer... How often these days can you say that you go to a business and it feels like family? Not so often. My family and I truly feel taken care of with the whole staff from the office staff to the Dr. He/they all genuinely care! I rarely feel at ease with people the first time I meet them but Dr.Hodes was so nice and personable that I immediately felt comfortable. Excellent service and a great eye exam. They have the most up to date equipment and the eye exam is quite thorough. The location is accessible with plenty of metered parking. I had a wonderful experience here! Dr. Hodes provided a thorough exam, and he answered all of my questions. I was having problems with my eyes while working in front of a computer all day, not to mention an irritating eye twitch that wouldn't go away after a few months. Dr. Hodes clearly addressed all my concerns, and he was able to provide a solution for me. He prescribed me glasses with this blue tec (I think that's how it is spelled) option that's supposed to help those who work in front of computers all day. After about a week of wearing them, I am astonished at how much better my eyes feel. They aren't tired by the end of the day, and that twitch finally went away! I feel like I am really taking care of my eyes, and I believe the special lenses I have will keep them healthy for many, many years to come. Very friendly staff, nice selection of glasses. Dr. Hodes is really competent as an eye doctor and very nice to work with. I really appreciated that I wasn't pressured to buy the most expensive glasses/contact lenses available, which can happen a lot at eye doctors and is NOT the way a patient should feel when receiving care. I had never been to an optometrist before, but my first experience with Dr. Hodes was great! I was seen right away, he made me feel very comfortable, and he explained everything to me in a way that was very easy for a newcomer to understand. Same with the staff! The front desk ladies spent probably 20-30 minutes helping me try on different frames and were so kind and helpful in my decision process. It was like having my friends there with me to give me opinions while shopping! They also very clearly explained my options for lenses, etc., and gave me recommendations based on my insurance coverage and personal lifestyle. Overall, a very pleasant experience. read more

Dr Hodes was awesome with my 6 year old son. He had been complaining about not being able to see. The pediatrician thought he had astigmatism. I saw Dr Hodes and he determined that he was 20/40 in one eye, but recommended a re-check in 3 months since we are headed into summer vacation. I liked the non-aggressive approach. It isn't like he's driving! If he is worse in 3 months, then we will get glasses. read more
