I went here for the first time today. Dr.Hodes is extremely thorough and friendly. He explained everything he did and answered all my questions. He showed me results to my eye tests and explained what they meant. The ladies at the front helped me pick out glasses and gave me their honest opinions. They also gave me an additional percentage off on the original price frames after my insurance was deducted. It was a great experience and would absolutely refer my friends and family! read more

Dr. Hodes is the only doctor that I don't dread visiting. He is caring and kind and puts up with my really bad jokes while conducting the eye exam. He even has a green HEALTHY smoothie recipe! I work in the valley, so I appreciate that he sees patients on Saturdays, which means I don't have to take a day off of work. His staff is friendly and helpful. They spent time with me so that I received the best of care, including promotional and insurance discounts. I am "special" and need 2 pairs of glasses: one for computer work and one for normal life. The staff went over all the options available to me and provided me with two detailed cost printouts so that I could choose the best one. They are very patient and helpful (truthful) while you are trying on glasses. read more

Dr. Hodes rocks!! Every year, I go to see him & his staff for my annual contact lense exams. I always get a thorough evaluation with this doctor who has good "bedside manners" and who charges reasonable fees. The reason I went to Hodes Vision is because of all these great Yelp reviews, and they are all true. Dr. Hodes is so nice, and took his time with me. He has a lot of new technology in his office that I haven't seen before, and appreciated him explaining each machine to me. The office staff was super friendly. They helped me get an appointment the same day I called, and were helpful when it came down to picking out new frames. I would highly recommend this office. I just received a personalized email from Dr. Hodes, which had a personal message about looking forward to meeting my husband for his appointment. Have been with them since 2013, although every time I had to get prescription for my old ones from before 2012, as he gave me different prescriptions two times and both times his measures just failed. On Thursday 5/10 while driving with the new eye glasses my vision was very blurred and called them and left message that I was scared of not being able to see because of wrong glasses ( paid $450 for) and today 5/15 and they never called me. An OD who can not measure astigmatism. I am going to see a new OD today and I have been absent from my work for 3 days now! Dr Hodes you are very irresponsible! Dr Hodes is an AWESOME eye doctor. Very thorough, Very kind & Caring. I had problems with using disposable contacts as my eyes dry quickly with disposable ones (so I have been using yearly ones for approx 2 years before seeing him) and he recommended a different type of disposable contact which works great. They're soooo comfortable compared to any other contacts that I've had. He takes time to answer all my questions, he's very professional and stays on top of the latest news and info regarding his profession. read more

I went for a sorely needed eye exam this week and was impressed by the entire staff's professionalism and courtesy. I was able to get an appointment the day after I called and the woman answering looked up my insurance beforehand to confirm that they accepted it (Anthem Blue Cross PPO) and to let me know exactly how much the exam would be. (Before insurance is factored in it's $129 with dilation and $109 without). Dr. Hodes was friendly, unhurried, offered excellent explanations and answered all my questions. I didn't need frames so I didn't pay attention to their selection, but it seemed respectable. Another plus: ample metered and free street parking nearby. Costco may be cheaper, but when I called they didn't have an available appointment for nearly three weeks. Given the excellent service and convenience I would happily recommend Dr. Hodes to anyone in need of an eye exam. read more

Yup!! This is the place to go. I got tired of going to Costco for eye exams and waiting in a little waiting room to get an exam. This staff here is very friendly. They explained the way my vsp insurance works. And what is covered. I didn't get that feeling of getting ripped off. Actually, they saved me some money. My frames were covered and I didn't pay much for the anti-glare and polycarbon lens. A big plus is they carried my prescription for the free trial pair. I was worried they wouldn't have it but dr Hodes was so sure they would. And wouldn't you know it . Boom. Free trial pair!! He was very patient and explained everything in detail. I am very satisfied with this place. There is free parking in the back. But if you drive a big truck like mine, it might be a lil difficult. Just show up early. read more

Called this morning and made a last minute same day appointment for contact lens fit. Found Hodes Vision through yelp. Dr Hodes and his team are very pleasant, informative and great listeners. Before leaving with my trial contacts, Rubi made sure to educate me thoroughly and watched as I demonstrated a couple of times removing and putting in the contacts. The prices are very reasonable. This place was very profession and very clean. Not only was this place fast but the women who worked here were very helpful. I worked with a young lady named Huriye ! She was the most helpful and caring employee there. She walked me through the whole process while remaining patient and she always had a warm smile on her face. Huriye helped me find the perfect pair of sun glasses that went well with the shape of my face. I've always had trouble with my contacts. They never fit well, my vision was never as good as it was while wearing my glasses. After my first visit, (I've seen Dr. Hodes for 4 or 5 years now) he was able to correct the situation. He's a great guy, easy going and very communicative. Does a great job of explaining the issues with my eyes instead of just fixing it and sending me on my way. He's also very good at keeping me updated on changes in eye care in general, namely Lasik procedures. I recommend Dr. Hodes to all of my friends! read more

I just want to say Dr. Hodes and his staff gave me the VIP treatment. I was able to get an appointment at the exact date and time I wanted within a day's notice. The receptionist made sure they took my insurance. When I arrived, I was greeted and the staff took good care of me. Dr. Hodes gave me a very thorough eye exam and took his time with me to answer all my questions.. They have a huge selection of frames and sunglasses to choose from. His receptionist gave me a great explanation of what's covered on my insurance. I liked that his staff also explained the various frames I was trying on and what I should look for and what would look great on me. They helped me get a great set of glasses for a great price! I went to Hodes vision optometry today and had the best experience. I haven't gone to the eye doctor in years because of bad childhood experiences at the eye doctor. Dr. Hodes and his staff put all of those worries out of my mind and provided a great experience. The office was very clean and the staff was very experienced and friendly. Dr. Hodes is very friendly and personable, really takes the time to evaluate the patient, and didn't make me feel rushed at all. There was also a very helpful man who was patient and friendly as I tried to re-learn how to put in and take out contacts after 15 years of not using them. The girls again assisted me in helping me pick out frames for my new glasses, and I can't wait to get them. I left feeling like I had received exceptional care. Dr. Hodes also gave me a sample of contact lenses and solution, and went above and beyond to give me a healthy smoothie recipe that I am eager to try. It is obvious that he really cares about the health of his patients. I lost my glasses like a dope. I went to Hodes and they quickly and efficiently took care of everything. The various eye exams to determine what prescription I would need and testing my eyes could not have been done more professionally. We went to Hodes yesterday and just LOVED the welcoming and friendly atmosphere. We had just come from Optometric Options down the street in search of glasses, but it was hard to look when all the glasses were behind locked glass. When we entered Hodes, RUBY was fantastic! She made sure we could try on all the glasses, brought us water and even filled us in on all the info concerning our insurance and how that worked with getting glasses there! While the doctor was just fine, the front office was not. They had trouble understanding insurance requirements. The tech was going to take a retinal photo before dilation. When it was pointed out that the photo should be taken after dilation, she checked and agreed. God thing I was paying attention - but that's not my job as a patient. And another patient was put in same exam room as me - which I believe is a hippa violation. Finally, they were doing construction using loud drills and things while I was 4 feet away. Not professional. This practice needs to shape up! read more
