Just adorable. We stayed this past weekend for a wedding in cabin #20. It was roomy, classy, beautiful, clean... and anything else that you would want and need for a country cabin. We stayed in House 12 and had a fantastic stay. The accommodations are rustic and well cared for, and all five in our group slept soundly on the comfy beds. Breakfast is brought in baskets around 9am, and we all loved the little plates of sausage, egg and muffins. This place was extremely cool. We will definitely stay here again. read more

We celebrated our first anniversary here. So glad we found this place! It is delightful. The staff members were so helpful in helping me book our trip. They were able to recommend rooms and things to do during our stay. They graciously welcomed us and walked us to our room when we arrived. We stayed in the Texas Bunkhouse. Plenty of space! Gorgeous details from the beadboard walls to the original French doors with modern amenities. The homemade cookies and tea were a sweet touch in the afternoon. We took advantage of the extensive DVD collection as well. Breakfast was delicious both days. Day 1-scrambled eggs, sausage links, fresh berries, warm blueberry French toast/bread pudding. Day 2-spinach frittata, pumpkin chocolate chip muffins, sausage patties and a fruit bowl. We left with happy tummies each morning. The food was warm and delivered a few minutes before 9 each day. We appreciated not having to awkwardly socialize with other guests early in the morning. My husband has already asked if we can stay there again! We were easily able to walk to the shops or grab a bite to eat. If the staff at hoffman haus are reading this-we think a fire pit would be a nice addition! Spectacular spa! If you find the place, it's worth the walk to find the spa. Tranquil, peaceful and Gabriella is an angel disguised as a European masseuse. The body wrap and reflexology was Devine and as good as I had at the Ritz. read more

This place is absolutely lovely and perfect for a stay in Fredericksburg. Weber House is beautiful and has a full kitchen, living room, bed room, large bath and screened in porch. Daily breakfast arrives at 9 am sharp in a picnic basket on the front porch. Walking distance to Main St, and great parking spot right in front of the house. Service was great without being intrusive. We will definitely be back!! read more

Came here for a birthday getaway with my love and stayed in the Ivy. Beautiful property and the lady up front at check in and out was incredibly sweet and gave us suggestions for dinner. Cookie bar was off the chain! 3 cats that roam around ALL came onto our back porch one evening as we were hanging out and having a couple drinks- they were very nice company. The room was beautiful and clean. Breakfast was wonderful and such a nice touch to our stay. I've been working for a high-end resort for a couple years now and the attention to detail at this property speaks volumes. Definitely coming back again! read more

Our stay at the Hoffman Haus was lovely. They were very accommodating. We were greeted with a nice women who directed us to the movie and book selection they have, and to the warm complimentary chocolate chips and ice cold water. Our rooms were amazing, better than expected, & extremely well cleaned. They had complimentary shampoo, conditioner, etc. Additionally, they brought complimentary breakfast to your room. The breakfast is delicious, they usually have 3 foods and a cup of fruit. They can also accommodate to any dietary needs. I would absolutely recommend. read more

My daughter had her wedding at The Hoffman Haus the weekend of April 18th. We were required to book the entire venue for the two days and any rooms not reserved by the guests or family, were to be paid for by the Bride's dad. We submitted the room assignments, two months prior to the wedding, of the guests who would be staying and whether they would be there for both nights or just the night of the wedding. One of our guests, who was on said list, went to check in a few minutes before the wedding and was turned away and not given her room since she hadn't called in a credit card ahead of time!!! (Now remember all rooms were guaranteed by the father of the bride!) I didn't find out about this until today and am so embarrassed for this to have happened to one of our guests. This young lady had to drive back to San Antonio in the pouring rain, yes it poured both days! To top all of this, my daughter was contacted today for payment of this room since her friend didn't stay!! I am speechless on the lack of training of this staff and the handling of their everyday business! The venue is beautiful, OUR VENDORS were wonderful, the rooms very comfortable but the staff so unprofessional!! Hoffman Haus was one of my favorite destinations. The decor is charming, and a wonderful, hot breakfast is delivered to the cottage each morning, and the location is very convenient to shops, restaurants and museums. But during our recent visit I found several cockroaches in the room. I was just unacceptable. read more

My gf and I just got back from celebrating our 7th anniversary-Valentines Day at the wonderful Hoffman Haus. This was our 1st time in the town and staying at a B&B. We were greeted with much hospitality and got a quick run through of the town's hot-spots to visit during our stay. The HH was divine with its cottage style rooms and tranquil garden. Our room had a comfortable bed, small kitchenette and own private porch. Breakfast was brought out in a quaint basket placed outside the door. Also a plus, was its location to the shops which were within walking distance to Main Street. Will be staying here again and look forward to seeing the garden in the Spring Time! read more

Everything about this place is relaxing, which is exactly what I was going for this past weekend. My girlfriend & I came to Fredericksburg for the weekend so that we could get away from school/work and take a load off for her birthday. I called to tell them I would arrive late on Friday, so they left the key and information out for me. We arrived and found everything I needed in an envelope at the check-in area. They have books, DVDs, and board games in case you prefer to hang out in the rooms and all the information available if you'd like to see the local attractions. We stayed in the Morning Star, which had plenty of room and big comfy couch with an ottoman so that we could kick back and watch a movie. I read a couple reviews that mentioned that they could hear the neighbors (in the Evening Star), but I have to say that we did not hear a peep the whole weekend (as we did see that there were people staying there). Adolf and Snowball, two of the Hoffman Haus animal mascots, were very friendly and joined us as we sat on the glider on the porch enjoying the weather. As this was my first Bed & Breakfast experience, I'm sure I'll try others. However, I definitely would recommend Hoffman Haus and I'm sure we'll be back sometime soon. read more

We stayed in the Cottonwood cabin and it was wonderful! Charming, individual cabins that are like little apartments. Very short walk to quaint downtown main street. No need to drive anywhere. I didn't see many cats as the previous reviews said, so I wouldn't let a non-cat lover deter you from this place. The breakfast delivered to your doorstep in the baskets gives it that extra special touch. Even though there are many B&B's in the area, I would stay here again! read more

This definitely makes my list of favorite B&B's I've ever had the pleasure of staying in. Every single moment of our time at Hoffman Haus was wonderful, down to the beautiful furnishings in our cabin, the helpful staff, upscale toiletries, jetted whirlpool tub, delicious cookies in reception, and above all the breakfast delivered to our door in the morning. I cannot say enough good things about this place. Incredibly romantic and quiet, and close to the downtown area of Fredericksburg. But really, with accommodations like these, I'm reluctant to leave the room! I can't wait to go back. read more

Hoffman Haus has a pleasant staff and gets many things right, but is lax with the details. The good: The accommodations are generally very nice in a rustic sort of way. Yes, they have sticky doors and worn wood floors, but they are also quite comfortable and have updated HVAC and bathrooms -- and the value is good relative to a boring hotel. Also, my kids loved HH, which is important to me. The bad: dead roach on the floor of the main house; small spot of what appeared to be someone else's blood on the back of my pillow case (still there after staff cleaned our room and should have noticed it); fresh ground coffee not refilled; breakfast quite small (and included whole eggs instead of the promised egg whites); staff asks you to sign "acknowledgement of policies" that includes language absolving HH of liability for injury/damages you may suffer on the premises. It's a shame that HH doesn't seem attentive to the details, as there are a lot of things to like about this B&B. read more
