Hoffmans chocolate has been my favorite for years. The chocolate was a perfect milk chocolate - not too milky and not too sweet. In 2013, they were sold to a corporation. At first, it seemed that they would keep the recipes that made the business a huge success. I recently visited Hoffmans again and they have ruined the chocolate. It now tastes like cheap chocolate you can buy at the drug store. BUT! It costs over $32 a pound. Absolutely not worth the trip or the money. My Hoffmans craving is over. Excellent place for ice cream or dessert. They have great ice cream and they are generous with their portions. Their chocolate is made from scratch and you can watch them make it. They are very expensive though so make sure you have a birthday coupon or bring your wallet. They sometimes have nice shows in the winter where you can ice skate in front and bring the kids. The place is packed and they do an incredible business. One of the rare draws and benefits of living in the area is Hoffman's and they are nice to visit every so often for a sweet treat. My parents recommended that I go to Hoffman's Chocolates because of Winter Wonderland, which would help me get into the Christmas spirit since it was still 90 degrees here in South Florida... UGH! David and I went on a Monday night, but the place was still PACKED! Luckily, they had additional parking by the school, so we were able to find a spot easily and walk over. As I approached the venue from the back, I noticed a rather large yard behind Hoffman's Chocolates where they were featuring their Winter Wonderland - lots of Christmas outdoor inflatables and lights (apparently Mr & Mrs Claus were there too for pictures, but they were not there on the night we went). Continuing on, I saw a small chocolate factory adjacent to the large chocolate store, which had many to-go items like chocolates, truffles & bars, chocolate pretzels, fudge, brittle & toffee. Inside Hoffmans was a large fudge counter spanning a majority of the store, where you could order fresh fudge, chocolate, etc. However, David & I headed straight for the ice cream counter, which featured about 10-15 different ice cream flavors and had roughly 5 small tables to dine. There were about 5 young girls serving behind the counter, but the line seemed to go slower than ever & there were only 2 customers in front of us, so I didn't know if they were gossiping behind the counter or actually helping customers. Regardless, once assisted, I ordered 2 scoops of coffee ice cream in a cone. It wasn't anything to rave about - tasted like regular coffee ice cream with some chocolate chunks. But, it soothed my sweet craving! We took our ice creams and made our way outside to the Winter Wonderland. Basically, I had to stuff my face with the ice cream because it was melting quickly. We walked the path of the Winter Wonderland, but the whole path only took about 10 minutes. Furthermore, Mr. & Mrs. Claus weren't there, which was kind of disappointing. I must've overlooked their timing appearances. Overall, it wasn't anything special... my neighbors had more Christmas outdoor decorations and lights than Hoffmans; however, it was nice to experience something new and get outdoors. Three stars because it was a far drive for such a short and simple experience and their ice cream wasn't something I'd remember, nothing unique. read more

Great Christmas experience. They offer a ton to see and do during Christmas time! And it's free to attend. The ice skating rink was cool, but we didn't feel that the cost was worth it, since it was tiny and crowded. They have lights displayed outside in the rear which was nice to walk through and take pictures. Great spot for little ones and they have Santa and mrs clause for photos! This place is so special! Amazing fresh homemade chocolates. So rich and flavorful as true chocolate should be. They give free samples to try before you buy. I loved the milk chocolate with cream and the hazelnut truffle (yum)! Homemade creamy ice cream on waffles and sugar cones. Captain Choco, Mint chocolate, and coffee flavors are among their most popular and preferred flavors. Beautiful gift shop with plenty of options available. I went 2 days after Thanksgiving and they offer a beautiful park full of Christmas lights and cheer with food stands to satisfy your hunger (corn dogs, fries, tortillas, etc). Their music selection was a shocker. I walked in to see a bunch of kids and families celebrating the light displays with Bruno Mars playing in the background "Sex by the fire at night." My mom used to take me to Hoffman's all the time when I was a kid, so on our spur-of-the-moment trip to the great north (um, West Palm Beach) yesterday, we decided to visit Hoffman's for a little trip down memory lane. It had been quite a few YEARS since either of us had seen the place, and it has definitely grown. I parked our car in one of the handicap spots (my mom is in a wheelchair), and noticed the handicap parking is much farther away from the entrance than the rest of the spots. That's because at the very north end of the building is the only entrance to the paved walkway that leads to the door. It would be quite easy for them to cut another opening by the doorway itself, and I hope eventually they will do just that. As it was, we got rather wet when the skies opened up while we were getting back to the car. First impression walking in: holy crap, this place is FREEZING. I was wearing a long-sleeve shirt and long pants and was still shivering the entire time I was inside. I mean, I understand... they have stuff that shouldn't melt of course. But I couldn't wait to get some chocolates and leave, I had no desire whatsoever to linger in there. I browsed some of their chocolates, and they are pretty expensive... but they make everything right there in the store. In fact, you can peer into the factory through windows on the south side and see them in action (although not on the day I was there). So I get why it would be a little more pricey than some other places. We got to the counter, and my mom decided to order some chocolates while I just browsed. Once she finished with her order, she decided to get some hot chocolate. Wasn't a bad idea, given how cold it was inside, but I figured I'd try hers first to see if I wanted one for myself. I'm glad I waited, because it tasted like plain ol' Hershey's syrup with steamed milk. I saw them using chocolate syrup as well, rather than a cocoa mix. I expected it to be better than that, given the price. While my mom's drink was being prepared, another worker came in to make a milkshake. She reached down to scoop some ice cream, and her very long hair went into the freezer as well. That struck me as odd... shouldn't they be wearing their hair back, or in hair nets? I walked back over to the chocolate displays, intending to get a few pieces of my own. One of the other workers behind the counter was wearing gloves, and picked up a large piece of chocolate from the counter, took a big bite, then put it back down on the counter and got ready to serve people, all without changing the gloves. Well, that was the last straw for me, and I decided I didn't want any chocolate after that. For the most part, the people we encountered were nice... but I do believe some of them definitely need more training. My mom and I noticed these things separately, and once we got in the car we both started to talk about how we had spotted what we believed to be health code violations. So if we both independently came to this conclusion, I can't think it's just me overreacting. So why three stars then? I don't know, nostalgia perhaps? I had one of the pieces my mom purchased (a dark chocolate covered "karamallow" (caramel and marshmallow), and it was quite good. I'd like to believe some more training for their workers would alleviate the issues I saw. read more

Let me first say this rating is for the cupcakes, not the chocolate (not a huge fan of that either, but it's ok) I'm almost starting to feel bad writing about cupcake places around here (Palm Beach County). There's always something missing. Hoffman's is no different. They're ok. The cake tastes like cake and the icing tastes like icing. The flavors are shallow though and the cake a bit dry. I'd say it's about 2 steps above the ones you get at Publix. Chocolate included. It tastes better than "brown", but there isn't much going on in the flavor department. The red velvet...the cream cheese icing is good. But the cake has that usual, red bitterness that you find in cakes that use cheap/too much coloring. read more

I love their chocolate! I've never tried anything else (fudge, frozen yogurt, etc) so this review is for their chocolates only. We created our own 1lb box for $23.95 and had a $5 off coupon. We got a lot of chocolate for the price! I prefer making my own box because then you don't get stuck with all those yucky flavors that no one likes (creamy mint, artificial cherry.. gross). I'm a dark chocolate woman and my husband is a milk chocolate man, so we tried to pick an equal amount of both. He ate all his chocolate in two days and I'm still working on mine after 1 1/2 weeks, but we are both counting down the days to get some more. read more

Been going for many years and always look forward to it. Have some good and not so good: Went late last week and I was looking into the factory and witnessed a woman in obviously too high heels almost face plant. In the factory! I know from experience high heels are a violation. Totally love the new packaging. Looks great as a gift, although we are probably paying for it since the prices went up a little. I have plenty of time to write this review as I sit here stuck in the parking lot. I can't explain what I just went through with the amount of people that are trying to squeeze into this place to see the "Christmas lights". We were saying "hey! Let's go to Hoffman's to see the lights and get some hot chocolate". Sure why not.....let's get into the spirit. When we pulled up to them escorting traffic I thought to myself I just pulled up to Disney. It was bumper to bumper of frustration from the beginning. This was supposed to be a nice evening out but quickly turned into a waiting game for parking, for see the lights and of course the hot chocolate. They totally cannot handle this amount of people and I'm glad to announce that I personally will not be back "Ever"!......I mean Forever folks! You would think in all the planning someone would come up with the bright idea of having a separate line just for the Hot Chocolate. Nooooo!..... they have you roped off going in one line for everything and it was a slow moving process. I think we miss Christmas just standing there. Hold on! We are finally moving now....thank you jesus! By the way the prices here are outrageous, yes the chocolate is good but than again what chocolate is not good? They say the world is running out of cocoa and apparently here at Hoffman's they think they have the last stash because they are over charging for their product. Pretty much reviewing their hot chocolate. IT WAS AMAZING! My friend and I both loved the heck out of it! I have not tried anything else, but I can at least say that the hot chocolate was awesome! I was extremely disappointed in the stores make over (or lack of product), ordered $125.00 worth of various products to be delivered the next day, and emphasized that, the staff was very incompetent, took 2 hrs for me to get out of store. And i was the only customer, neither employee knew how to ring up or charge for a local delivery item, but needless to say item was never delivered, I called to speak to a manager, she said "oh well it didn't go ouy" & hung up on me, not until I wrote to the ceo did I get a reaction, but my company will go else where for our holding day corprate orders. I came here for the Winter Wonderland event they have every December. It was short and sweet, yet perfect for younger children. I never knew Hoffman's had a backyard so that was a pleasant surprise to get to enjoy the backyard. The store was clean, well air conditioned, and fill with all kinds of goodies! You are able to view their factory which is separated by a larger glass wall. So nice to see your food being made for you! They also have a milkshake station. read more

Parents can barely get strollers through the uneven mulch covered ground. This would only leave one to assume that WALKERS and WHEELCHAIRS are not welcome. I've been shopping at Hoffman's the past 19 years, and the quality has really gone downhill the past few years. I went in last week for a gift, and of course had to get a few things for my own consumption. The product I bought for myself and my co-workers was waxy and tasteless. Had my daughter's birthday party here. They pushed a few tables together for the 10+ kids (ages 6-7) and began the party with a tour of the store. The kids were all walking around, appearing to be engaged as the host explained the process of how they make their chocolates and the history of the place. Parents were all in the back talking but was nice that they were able to all make different goodies and take them home. After the tour, came the real craziness... they brought out every kind of topping and let the kids have at them! I've never seen so many and needles to say the sugar rush kicked in and the girls went nuts!!! I couldn't bring myself to take a star away. If anything, should only be 1/8 off star because it would've been great to have a playground out back for them to burn off some of that energy!!! This review is based on the Christmas holiday. Great event BUT the highlight of it should be seeing Santa. Stood in line for over an hour and I was EXTREMELY disappointed with Santa and Mrs. Clause. They were not in Christmas spirit or cheer or friendly. They looked miserable. They didn't smile, say ho, ho, ho or even ask my son his name or what he wanted for Xmas. So, the candy here is amazing and some of the best I have ever tasted. The quality is absoltuely impeccable. So why only two stars? Well, every year 'round Christmastime, this place does a Holiday lights display, complete with a model train (I love model trains). I remember going as a kid and finding it to be very well-done and effortful. This year, Maw insisted on going and forced my jet-lagged body to come along. Sadly, they put no effort or any real work into the display this year. The lights were all old, the displays were lackluster, and that beloved model train was un-landscaped and out of scale. The whole thing practically killed the Christmas spirit inside of me. And yet it was still ridiculously crowded! What gives, Hoffman's? Ordered 90 boxes of chocolate with our business' custom logo. I was curious as to why just one bar of chocolate came out to about $9, and it's because they are actually quite big! The boxes were adorable and if you wrap a simple silk ribbon around the box, they look lovely. You don't have to worry about wrapping them. We had an issue in which UPS claimed to have attempted to deliver our box but that no one was in our office (even though all 11 of us were there). I called UPS to get a reimbursement for our delayed delivery. They said Hoffman's would have to do it since they were the ones who set up the shipping. Hoffman's was very professional and reimbursed us for the delivery in a timely manner. We sincerely appreciate it! Just a tip: When choosing a design for a custom chocolate bar, it's wise to go with a mold that you plan to reuse in the future. If you pay the setup fee the first time, you can reuse the mold on future orders. Our bars say "Happy 2017" so it wouldn't make much sense to re-order with the same logo next year :) read more

Hoffman's is hands down the best chocolate store in the area. They make all their chocolate and treats in house (the chocolate factory is attached and visible to the public) and their prices are reasonable. They even wrap for free!
