Onion rings delish! Not a fan of the purple slaw. dogs and buns really good!
    Emily C.

I happened to stumble upon here on its opening day. One of the best burgers I've had. The chili on the top was delish. I was not a fan of the purple slaw on top of the dogs. Next time I will just get chili onions and mustard. But the buns, the meat, the chili, it was all really good! And the fries. Will be going back!

Greasy onion rings and nasty hot dogs.

Greasy onion rings (actually no onion to be found, almost all batter) with a low quality hot dog smothered in what they call a house chili. The chili is nasty. If they would change to Hormel canned stuff, it would really help them. Also not everyone wants chili especially nasty chili, and not everyone wants two hot dogs for lunch. In my opinion, this place will not last the first year which really sucks. I love hot dogs and wanted it to be good. Instead, they have a really poor menu, (poor chili on everything (probably to cover the taste of the poor product) low quality products and they even managed to destroy the traffic flow that use to be in this location. They installed a worthless wide booth that blocks incoming traffic and now everyone coming both in and out have to squeeze through a 3 foot wide area. It's almost like someone said "write me a playbook for a hotdog stand that is guaranteed to fail".

I have a few faves like the cheesy mushrooms and the BBQ shrimp, and nowadaya you can't just look at the regular menu. You have to check out their daily specials board because they are constantly knocking it out of the park with creative new dishes and fresh catches. The atmosphere is just even more welcoming, but the outdoor seating is much improved with some sand and stage, perfect for enjoying the coastal breeze. They updated their operating hours too, so they are now open daily from 11 AM to 10 PM. Whether you want to escape the usual tourist trap seafood lines, watch a game on their big screens, or just grab a ice cold beer, or really strong drink, with friendly folks, this place just keeps getting better. If you haven't been by lately, you are seriously missing out. Highly recommended!!! 5/26/26

However, we unfortunately weren't impressed with the flavor. Presentation wise, very fun and cute. The mermaid tail was presented with everything I got except I didn't get the mermaid tail gummy/charm on my sundae, a bit odd haha. The mermaid tail was $8 but really it was beautiful! The vanilla ice cream however, was not great. It tasted like imitation vanilla, like vanilla extract. Not a fan at all. My husband got a milkshake with m&ms and gummy worms. Mix ins were great... but the ice cream again was just OFF. It didn't taste like a normal chocolate ice cream and we couldn't figure out what was off but something was. This is how much of our items we decided to go ahead and toss due to flavor just not being what we expected. I think this is a fun place for kids and a fun experience, but I don't think I'd go back just because of the flavors

Since its establishment earlier this year Milkshake Momma is fast becoming a favorite spot for locals and tourists with their comfort food, unique atmosphere, and over-the-top milkshakes. Founded in Ladonia, Alabama, as part of the Southern Roots Country Store, Milkshake Momma has quickly gained popularity for its delicious comfort food, over-the-top milkshakes, and lively atmosphere. The restaurant's was founded by a group of friends who wanted to create a place where people of all ages could enjoy delicious treats and create fun memories.  While Milkshake Momma currently only has one location in Orange Beach, AL, the restaurant is now offering franchise opportunities to interested entrepreneurs. Milkshake Momma's menu features a wide array of unique offerings, including epic FREAK Shake milkshakes, old-fashioned milkshakes, banana splits, cones, cups, freak donuts, mini donuts, cobblers, and cheesecake and cake by the slice. Their food menu also boasts a variety of tasty options, such as burgers, hot dogs, salads, and funky fries. I've got my eye, for my next visit, on the Outlaw Chili Dog which is a hot dog, topped with mustard, house-made chili, onions, slaw, and pickles, it sounds delish. Also when I'm not being my regularly cheery self I'm coming back for a Cheer Up Buttercup, which has a  Peanut Butter Rim, Vanilla Milkshake or Sundae, Topped with Slice of Cheese Cake, Reese Cups, Reese Pieces, Pretzels Carmel and Whipped Topping, that sounds cheery :-)  I had my first Pistol Pete shake that was quite  enjoyable, and by the way they use Blue Bell Ice Cream here, and I do like their stuff.  Bottom line: Milkshake Momma Burgers and Shakes offers a fun dining experience with its unique atmosphere, delicious comfort food, and over-the-top milkshakes. The staff is friendly and the wait is reasonable, give it a try!  Hours: Milkshake Momma is open seven days a week: Monday - Thursday: 11:00 AM - 8:00 PM Friday - Saturday: 11:00 AM - 9:00 PM Sunday: 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM To learn more about Milkshake Momma, visit their website at milkshakemomma.com. Upon entering you can smell all different kinds of sweets and treats but right up front I'm always drawn to what we called "penny candies" when I was a kid. OMG Clove and Black Jack gum, Mallow Cups and double OMG the little wax bottles filled with juices. I forgot what we called them over 50 years ago but these are called Nik.L.Nip mini drinks, and for those that were kids when my 41 year old was a kid they have a big selection of pop rocks :-) Staying with the sweet stuff they have a great assortment of candies from just about every decade going back to WWII and up to the Star Wars variety. There's jelly beans, taffy, candy tacos, cotton candy and a virtual plethora of sweet treats, trust me this is a candypalooza store. They have lots of good snack food for your eat-in or akeout pleasure including hot dogs, slow-roasted Pork, popcorn, homemade chili & cheese sauces, homemade salsa,  scratch petzel dough, in-house recipe mac & cheese, hamburgers & more. Plus ICE CREAM, always great to have a nice ice cream choice by the beach, nice! There's a bigger version of this locally owned business in Foley with the advantages of a larger inventory and also a great souvenir shop, if you don't want to deal with the crowds closer to the beach. They also have other fun stuff t-shirt collections, socks, stuffed animals, souvenirs and an eclectic soda collection, the bacon & coffee sodas caught my eye. Bottom line: This is a super stop for the entire family! #nostalgia #fun NOTE: I'm normally not one to be crtitical of other reviewers as we all have our personal experiences and should never shy away from sharing without reservation. However, in the case of this business there's some bad star ratings that apparently due to Covid indiscretions and I have something to say about that. This is my opinion as it relates to negatively impacting the overall rating of a business. A 1 star rating will impact a business forever, and let's face it, not that long ago no mask or no gloves wouldn't have factored into that score and with any luck not long from now it won't be a factor again. But the rating will. I feel that any business should be viewed for its venue, the product quality and service and even a bad staffer shouldn't be the ultimate arbiter of the overall score. It's not my intention to make this personal to anyone it's just that I have both sympathy and empathy for small business and I'm on my soap box to address this particular issue as I believe we owe it to our communities to be just a little more measured overall, especially during these difficult times, and especially for our local owned and operated shops. One last thought, I try to put in a Covid related remark, and in a couple cases a warning, so that readers can be informed about what they might encounter. I'll step off now .....

Okay, I am a spoiled consumer of hot dogs because I've had a regular diet of Coney dogs both on Coney Island and in Olneyville, RI and a have of Coney dogs in Fall River, MA (Nick's) not to mention many, many hot dog experiences at multiple vendors in and around Chicago. I have tried some pretty darned good dogs from Miami to San Francisco and even at street vendors in Mexico. (My honey never would be brave and eat those Mexi-dogs LOL) But these fine folks have roped me in with the one dog that you just can't find most places, THE SLAW DOG!! I have very find memories of leaving the YMCA as a kid, for many years, then walking to the corner Rexall Drug Store, where they have a soda fountain, and ordering my favorite hot dog with cole slaw. Of course I added mustard and onions but that's just how I get it here. The bread, dog and slaw are very good and I'm a happy camper. While I'm hooked on slaw dogs they do have a nice variety of other specialties beyond a basic dig like the Kraut dog, the Driftwood (smothered in chili) and the bacon dog (with jalapeno cheese & white sauce), the Alabama (with spicy peppers, tomatoes & white sauce) and the Galley dig which is everything on. I have promised myself to try that one day :-) They also offer over a dozen flavors of delicious hand packed olive creams which you can have in a cone or cup plus some cool specialty shakes and sundaes and, oh yes, floats! It's not a big dine-in place but my favorite thing is to grab my dogs or ice cream and sit out under one of their shaded picnic tables and enjoy the outdoors.
