This place is actually cute. Sucks that there's bees everywhere because of the sweetness Carmel sugar rim. It took 45 minutes to drive and I didn't stay here long. Got donuts and a cider drink it was good but not worth the drive for me. It's cute place, lots of photo opportunity, and children friendly as well. I just wouldn't be coming back here anytime soon.
Such a classic East Coast fall activity! Great music, friendly staff, and the family-friendly atmosphere. The property has a fun mini golf course, a tap room, and plenty of outdoor picnic tables. This is by far my FAVORITE cider mill in Connecticut. Both the cider and the apple cider donuts were delicious -- not overly sweet, and the donuts had the perfect texture. They also have a great selection of hard ciders and beers for adults. I got the Flight of Four 4 oz to try all their top flavors. My favorite was the Hogan's Honey. The December Frost hard cider is the same one used in the Drunken Donut! It's a great spot to bring your own picnic or grab food from the food trucks (if they're there that day). I'd recommend this place to anyone visiting New England in the fall. This place really captures the cozy, festive vibe.

Cute spot. Love the ambiance and decor. Drinks were very good as well, a little on the pricey side, but that is expected. Service was good. I would recommend maybe not clogging up the stairs and having people form a line upstairs. The stairs are very narrow and it's kind of harrowing squeezing past people down a steep staircase.
This place was bustling with people on a Saturday afternoon. The staff has parking and a great handle on the influx of people down to a science. Lots of picnic tables outside, corn-hole games a-plenty and a mini golf course too. We tried the drunken hot cider and a delightful hot cider. Both come with a cider donut nestled on top. My only gripe, put a lid on the hot cider and the donut on top. Both of our donuts were half soaked into the hot cider and too hot to bite into. We both lost our donuts inside our ciders which made both pretty unpleasant. Otherwise, the place was a great spot to drop in!
We had a blast spending an early Fall afternoon at Hogan's Cider Mill. We ordered a cider flight to be able to sample their variety of ciders. We also ordered a drunken donut- which was our favorite menu item that we tried! The staff was friendly and promptly ready to serve us. They are a well oiled machine in terms of trying to keep their lines down (there were no lines actually, during the time we were there!). Hogan's is a family friendly establishment with mini golf and ample open areas for kids to play. There were two food trucks available to guests as well. This was an in state road trip worth going back for, especially when trying to check things off your Fall bucket list!
We had such a fun time trying the cider and the speciality Sumerween drinks. Everyone was so friendly and gave us great suggestions. There is a cute shop with local goods as well as plenty of tables outside on the lawn. There is also a cute 18 hole mini golf course which is apparently free on Friday! Will definitely be back for more seasonal fun.
If you're looking for a few Instagram worthy Fall pictures, look no further. They're here in Burlington CT at Hogans Cider Mill. They have beautiful foliage and a few photo worthy cider cocktails for your feed. They also have plenty of non alcoholic options for our underage and sober friends. That being said, it's get super crowded on weekends (it's a family friendly spot) so if little kids running wild isn't your thing, be prepared to come on a Thursday and Friday during the day when kids are in school or daycare.
When I first moved to northern CT someone let me know I wasn't a true Connecti-cutie until I visited Hogans. I'm not a donut gal and it's rare that I'll eat one but I did enjoy the apple cider donut that came on top of my cider. It was still warm and had the perfect about of cinnamon sugar. I'm also not a cider gal, but hey! Delicious as well. I tried a green apple shot as well. Hogan's is great for the autumn IG photo dump and has a mini mini golf course available as well. The store has assorted fudge and even spell casting candles. It's on me for not doing my research but there isn't food available on site. I think it would be cool if a food truck popped up but I wonder how they would handle even more traffic. I'm happy to check this spot off my bucket list.
This cider mill has been producing cider since 1912 by the founders, Patrick Hogan and family. New owners, Chet Dunlop and Theresa Clifford Dunlop purchased the business in 1992; they branched out by making hard cider and opening The New England School of Golf. There is even a mini golf course there. There are 20 different types of cider and a tap room. Parking lot was on the smaller side but on weekends, it seems that they have vehicles park on the lawn. The mill shop was very cute and has the typical New England farm store vibe. There were cider donuts ($2/ea), honey, maple syrup, jam, pickles, cider, and various snacks and accessories to purchase. They even give free samples of cider. I purchased a few cider donuts which were perfection; lightly crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. The maple blueberry cider I bought was delicious and not too strong. The cashier was very friendly and she offered mini donuts for free for my little ones. They have cider drinks with donuts and whipped cream on it that comes in various flavors. I can't wait to go back to check out their tap room and mini golf.
What a perfect place to visit during the autumn time. Been wanting to come here and finally got here and once you're been here there's no looking back. The fall time is a perfect time to visit as it's all decorated with pumpkins,mums and so much more. Got to pose in front of their Hogans red truck landmark. I got to try the drunken donut slushy along with the sweet cider slushy. And my favorite was the sweet cider slushy as you have to get it inside. The hard cider slush's are only available upstairs in the barn. I wanted to try the pumpkin spice hard cider but wasn't available during my visit. I was alittle disappointed but will have to make another trip there. I was recommended the hard cider bottles of pumpkin spice and strawberry shortcake. Alittle pricey but people are buying them up. I treated myself to the pumpkin shaped maple grove candy which is my favorite and available to purchase along with the fresh cider donuts as they don't stay in the pan long enough. The aroma of the fresh baked cider donuts dipped in the cinnamon and sugar coating is all you smell. It's a help yourself station. A family friendly place that offers miniature golf for an extra fee. Great place for a picnic and sipping on drinks.
This is an annual autumn must for me! The Drunken Donut is what draws in the crowds, and it is my favorite as well. It is a spiked cider topped by a delicious donut, whipped cream and sprinkles. They offer several other ciders as well as rotating specialty shots, such as apple pie. There are several tap rooms, and inside one of them is a small store selling salsas, honey, and more. They have picnic tables throughout their property, an 18 hole mini golf course, and food trucks. I grabbed a slice of pizza while I was there.
This place is so cute! A little crazy in space, but cute. There is limited parking before you have to park in a field. The tap room is also limited, but has picnic benches outside. The building itself has no water, so I'm not sure about restroom or if they exist. The first floor has all this cute locally made stuff, and donuts and pies. Yum. The second floor has a bar right at the top of the stairs (I suspect when they're busy a line may form there) and there are roughly three rooms with different types of tables and chairs to sit in. It IS worth getting a drink with a donut. Just grab napkins for sugar spills. My drink had the face of a Halloween pumpkin, and even though I'm not a drinker, was sweet without being toothaching and fun to drink. read more

One of the best cider mills in CT for ambiance, apple cider donuts, cider, wine, and activities! We learned from a worker that people travel all over the world to come here! Some from as far as Australia and different parts of Asia. They have a shop here with merch and different locally made items along with 3 places to buy drinks/donuts. Their most popular are their alcoholic ciders! The cider is tart and sweet, but not overly of either. Their don't is more cakey if you're into that! They also have mini golf for $12 which is a pretty good deal! There is a bunch of indoor and outdoor seating. And food trucks for lunch/dinner! Definitely a good spot for family and friends. read more

I love this place. It's so cool. They sell a variety of things from apple cider donuts, cider itself, and jam -- to name a few. The interior is cool, I went upstairs, where they serve their hard cider, I got a nonalcoholic cider slushy, which was delicious, but took a while to drink because it was so frozen. I sat outside and drank it on one of their picnic tables. I'll always come back to this place. It's so nice such a great time. read more

This is a great place to visit on the area. It smells amazing like apples and apple cider donuts. They have a lot of products, like honey, and you can get pumpkins and gourds. They have cider drinks, some of them come with donut and whipped cream. There are non alcohol options too. The hot non-alcoholic mulled cider was excellent. The country music and friendly bikers, you feel like you're somewhere in a movie. Service was friendly, they said this was a dairy farm ages ago, Very cool! They have mini golf too read more
As a new Connecticut resident, I was excited to do some seasonal things locally! Came here with some new friends as we were seeing many people post about Hogan's and had to check it out ourselves! It was a gorgeous and warm day in October so we were pretty lucky. We tried the drunken donut cider and apple pie shot and they were good! We explored around the whole place. The gift shop had many cool things for sale. There was mini golf as well. Great spot to picnic outside too. We had fun. read more

Friends and I visited for a short weekend trip and we started off here for some mini golf and cider. The outdoor mini golf has 18 courses for just 11 dollars and they give you a coupon for a dollar off drinks as well as let you choose your own golf ball to keep. That is such a great steal!!! We arrived right at 5pm which is usually when they close the course off since it gets dark soon but they let us go as the last party. The workers were super friendly. The vibes there are great for dates snd hanging out with family or kids. They have both an indoor upstairs bar area or outdoor picnic tables. We came back on our last day to buy some freshly pressed cider and jam. They are labeled as butter but the consistency is more like a spread/jam/marmalade. read more
Unfortunately Hogan's seems to be a little too touristy :( the cider and hard cider is absolutely the highlight of the place, but prices are a little high for the alcoholic options, considering the amount of alcohol you can (or can't) taste in the drinks. The donuts are reasonably priced but I find it fascinating that a place like this didn't have fresh warm donuts available. The donuts were kept under a weak heat lamp and were very dry. We did the mini golf, but the greens were very poorly maintained and not themed in any way. If you're going to visit, skip the mini golf and maybe invest in a full bottle of hard cider rather than the more instagram worthy single serving drinks. read more
Looking for a fun date, look no further. Hogan's has it all - food trucks, delish ciders (alcohol and non-alcoholic), mini golf and cute shop with handmade candles, jewelry and condiments. Picnic tables offer seating for food truck meals or we saw people bring their A-game picnics to enjoy. Welcoming staff were on hand to guide us to a spot in their amble parking field, which made it a breeze to enjoy the day and not worry about parking. We had the chicken sandwich, empanadas and tots from Gnomad Catering and two hot spiked ciders for lunch. Portions were generous so bring your appetite. Looking forward to sampling the cider donuts at home with a bottle of cider we purchased at the Mill Shop. read more

Hogans Cider Mill is so much more than a fall spot. Serving up your fall favorites year round, each with a seasonal twist! We loved the festive decor and may come back just to take Christmas photos! The hot cider was delicious albeit messy to eat with the donut stacked on top! I think that's half the fun! read more
Hogan's is a most-go fall destination and the epitome of New England. It has a great ambiance and atmosphere with fire pits, food trucks, games outside, a tap room, various seatings, and an inside/outside shop. It truly is a local charm! I'd be remiss not to mention the DELICIOUS treats they have. Donuts, ciders, snacks and more! The Drunken Donut drink was a favorite. The hard ciders are delicious & dangerous- Doesn't taste like booze at all. Safe to say i'll definitely be stopping here again! read more
Easily a 5 star review! If you want to instantly feel some fall vibes- hogans cider mill is totally the place to go to!! You could easily spend the entire day here! From the cute store offering free cider tastings- to hanging out in their tasting room- to playing cornhole outside or even going for a round of mini golf! My husband and I loved it here and cannot wait to come back! I especially love that they offer mocktails or just fun drinks. I got their potter potion and loved it! My husband got their blueberry cider slushie and thought it was excellent as well. My husband even got to sample some ciders and absolutely loved their December cider- he could not stop raving about it! He will definitely come back for that! Next time we are here we plan on checking out their mini golf and trying their signature cider/ cider donut combo in the fall! So fun! read more

We had a nice time overall. We drove an hour so this will be a one time experience for us. The 1st thing that turned me off the uncut grass that I both had to drive through and walk through. When you have alot of people coming to your business cut the grass please. My car is low to the ground so my car could have gotten stuck. Worst of all ticks. This is a cute spot but the drink sizes are small. It would have been nice to have 14oz and maybe 16 oz or 20oz. Mini golf was an option but I hope not too expensive because it had no fun props or anything. I was excited they had a little store but it had unfresh looking apples, fudge (not recently made), cotton candy, and apple cider donuts The drink was alot of fun apple cider, with an apple cider donut, whipped cream, and sprinkles. The decor was really cool! However, we traveled almost an hour so this was a one time adventure for us. read more

Hogan's has done it again! We ran over for their Memorial Day special and it delivered. As always, the staff was amazing and we look forward to seeing them. It was a beautiful day and the mini golf and seating were open and ready. We sat near the red truck this time since we were just going quickly. If you've never been, the shop is so cute and there is a bar upstairs. They always have snacks to buy and local items for sale. The drink was excellent. I think that it favorite layer was the strawberry watermelon, but the white peach was a close second! A must stop. read more
If you're looking for a fun and different fall time hangout. You should come and check out Hogans Cider mill this rustic hangout has a cute little shop with jams, pickled items and all the things you'd find in a country store. You can also buy hard cider in a multitude of flavors. While you're there go up stairs and get a hard Cider. I think they have other stuff to do but the day we went it was a torrential downpour so we mainly were in the little shop and upstairs drinking a cider with donuts. read more

Hogan's cider mill has been all over Instagram and my friends and I wanted to check it out on a day trip. The lines for the special donut cider drink can be long but they do move quickly. They're are some benches but you are free to bring your own chairs and blankets. I got the hot cider which was delicious. The ambiance here can't be beat for a nice fall day. The grounds are very pretty! Parking can be a bit confusing and some signage would help. Next time I would definitely bring some food as there is not much besides their store and some chips and cookies etc. read more
From the scenery to the activities to the tastings, this is a wonderful fall experience! I was looking forward to this drunken donut cider since I've heard about this place! It's a bummer they're only open Thurs-Sunday, as it's been so difficult to make plans with a group of friends that work weekend rotations. Thankfully the tap room was actually open and the donut drink was available on this particular Thursday (website said otherwise). First off, the donut was great! The cider was pricey, but I understand this is how this place makes their money. We got here at 4:30pm and it wasn't busy at all, we were able to order our drinks right away. I've heard they get pretty packed on the weekends. The girls in the tap room were super nice! But, I was upset when I immediately spilled my drunken donut while sitting and placing it down on the table (it got caught in one of the ridges). It was a big mess but the line got super long as this happened so no one noticed or was able to help me clean it up. I got back in this long line to get another as I didn't even have one sip to try it before dropping it. Somehow, I saved my donut so when I explained what happened, I asked if I could get the same order without the donut. They said they'd have to charge the full amount regardless and just give me the donut on the side. They never asked where I spilled, but I tried my best to clean it up and it was my entire drink. So, I spent $40 for one drink and a donut to take home. My friends were shocked that I wasn't offered the drink on the house. I've also had plenty ciders and it was obvious to my friends and I that the alcohol content was little to nothing, as the drunken donut it a mixture of regular and hard cider. You can "supercharge" your drink with an extra shot of hard cider for a higher cost. Therefore if you want alcohol, just order the hard cider. Also, the sour apple shot was $3, so it's not so much of a shot but more like a cider sample. My friends complained about it all being too sweet, but that's cider for you! Everything is very picturesque here so it's worth the trip. The mill shop is super cute with handmade items and canned goods. I enjoyed the hot cider most, so next time I'd get that and take their donuts to go. This seems like a fun place for families. read more

Hogan's is definitely a must on your CT fall bucket list! The Drunken Donut was amazing - delicious apple cider donut! They also have non-alcoholic options making it family friendly. We played a few holes of mini golf - you can keep your golf ball and bring it back next time for $3 off your game. The little shop they have features locally made crafts, snacks, jarred goods, and souvenirs. We got some fudge, stickers, honey sticks, and incense. Service was pleasant, fast, and friendly. Everybody was very helpful and welcoming! Overall, great vibes! The only things that could improve the experience would be some live music outside, and if they were open later than 7pm. Definitely check it out if you have the chance!! read more

I find this to be a much better option then the more popular Clydes cider Mill. The drive up here is very pretty if you stay off of Route 8. The parking lot is tiny, but there is a side road across the street where you can park, and honestly, that was much easier than trying to navigate the lot. I ordered the drunken donut, their specialty, but they do have flights available. I will do that the next time I head over, but I was in the mood for something sweet. The donut went well with the cider which is a mix of regular apple cider with one of their hard ciders. There was both indoor and outdoor seating with fire pits. It's super casual. There are Port-A-Potties available for use and they were surprisingly clean and well-maintained. The indoor bats are not in service; all orders have to be taken in their outside bar, but indoor spaces are open to seating. read more

Hogan's Cider Mill is a craft cidery that opened in Burlington, Connecticut in 1912. It was founded by Patrick Hogan: the son of Irish immigrants. After he passed away in 1917, sons Richard and Morris Morgan took over the operation. In 1992, Chet Dunlop (a PGA Golf Pro) and his wife Theresa Clifford Dunlop took over operation of the mill. They opened The New England School of Golf in the back of property, where Dunlop continues to offer golf lessons. Dunlop learned the ropes of cider production from Wendell Gunn and Martin Szczesniak: Morris Hogan's long-time faithful employees. Over the years, the Dunlops have not only preserved the historic sweet cider tradition of the Mill but have also branched out into the production of hard cider. Hogan's Cider Mill now has over 20 varieties of hard cider to choose from. My wife and I visited Hogan's Cider Mill for the first time in October 2019. In addition to their hard ciders, they also offer sweet cider, apple cider donuts, fresh honey, and plenty of pumpkins and decorative gourds. The store and taproom is located in a historic barn on the property. In the taproom, they offer flights of four hard ciders. My flight included the Classic Cider, Maple Leaf, Mandarin Orange Spice, and Pumpkin Spice. The latter was my favorite and I purchased a bottle of it to go. Hogan's Cider Mill is a great place for families to visit for annual Autumn pilgrimages. They continue to make new varieties of hard cider and they recently began offering the "Hogan's Drunken Donut": a cocktail of fresh sweet cider and December Frost hard cider that is topped with an Apple Cider Donut, whipped cream and Hogan's Harvest Sprinkles!
