Deep dish pizza was delicious, with a high gluten crust that stood up well to the innards. Yummy! Salad was fresh, even if the dressing wasn't hand-made. The service was exceptional....several friendly young-folk welcoming us and providing quick, attentive service. We'll be back. read more

Best pizza from here to Cali. I'm a local but live in California now. Every time I come home I HAVE to eat here at least twice!! It's so good! Super interesting, special pizzas. Staff is stellar. Locally owned and the oldest restaurant in town. And it's obvious why. It's the best. No better pizza anywhere out here and I haven't found one in Cali that beats it either. My husband and I tried this restaurant for the first time tonight and had the most wonderful experience!!!! The pizza was hands down the BEST pizza I've ever had in my entire life. And I mean that with every fiber in my being. Mouth watering delicious BUT the SERVICE!! Holy crap you guys you have set the bar for excelling in customer service. Stopped for dinner before heading up to camp. Good pizza - got a cheese and one loaded. Cheesy garlic bread was a hit with the kiddos. Fast, friendly service. Very clean place. The kiddos (and hubby) loved the pinball machines. We'll probably stop again when we are in the area. read more

A+. I love the divey atmophere. It is hard to be divey and family friendly, but this place nails it. The slice of pizza/pint of beer special won me over. Then I got the pie. So good. The crust is sturdy, but tender. Not sure how they accomplish that. There are herbs in the crust that are great. Big complaint - the crust is so good that my husband, who usually lets me have the crusts to chomp on, now finishes the whole thing! The hog knuckle pepperoni rolls are sort of like a crescent roll (made of the good pizza dough) around plenty of pepperoni. They are brushed with garlic oil and sprinkled with some Parm before being baked to a tender, crispy brown. Served with a nice cup of marinara sauce. Salad was simple but covered all the basics and then some. Great croutons! read more

Great take-out, consistently. We love the calzones. The White, Luna Bear and Boots Electric pizzas are excellent choices. The Hog knuckles are yummy; sort of like mini calzones. Want something healthy to accompany your carbs? The 457 salad is the best. We happily order take out from Hogback every other week. Great way to replenish after a long run or bike ride. read more

The deep dish is over 2" tall and got the thumbs up from my jersey boy husband. The 457 is absolutely delicious. 3 pinball games offer entertainment while waiting and there are NO TVs (yay!) Was too hot to sit on the patio but there were 6 tables inside plus seating at the bar. read more

We started a new trail group in town this year on Thursdays & met here every other week before the run/hike & hung out to eat great food & enjoy a beer or 2 afterwards. I love the calzones. For pizza, my faves are the White, Luna Bear and Boots Electric. The Hog knuckles are yummy. The 457 salad is good, healthy accompaniment to the carbs. The weekly specials are pretty creative. Actually pretty good pizza....like....I would choose this pizza over Papa John's in a second. I have 2 issues with them which prevent me from leave 5 stars. 1 - They almost never answer the phone! I always find it hard to place an order because....omg...answer the phone! 2 - they cut the pizza into squares. It makes me eat more. I have to remember the next time I order from them to ask them to cut the pizza into triangles. :) But other than that, very good food! read more

So my love of this place started literally the first night I moved to New Castle. My realtor gave me and my wife a gift card at closing and said try them out you'll have a nice meal and won't have to cook on the first night in your new home. Well that sealed the deal. Went with a 'triple bypass' and was sold. When my father would cOme visit he always wanted to go grab lunch there. Dustin and Denise are awesome, they know their customers and wouldn't even ask my name when I came for pick up, they'd grab the boxes and ring me up...years after I moved away I'd still get that same friendly treatment when I walked in. Traditional Neglect, BBQ chicken, hog knuckles, hot sandwiches...it's all good folks! read more

Amazing pizza. Been Eating since day 1!! Something to crave!! Love the pizza, I am from Steamboat but have to grab a pie every time that I am in town! Which is not enough for my mom living in New Castle. Have some favorites but everything and anything on the menu you can't go wrong by ordering! Keep killing it Hogback Pizza! Me and my boyfriend went here and we were surprised to find a hidden gem! Between the pinball machines, amazing service, and incredible food and pizza options, I wouldn't change a thing. We were bummed about getting rained out of camping this past weekend so promised ourselves we would spend the time checking out places we hadn't been to around the area instead. We came over to Osage Gardens to pick up some plants and decided we were starving on the way back- saw Hogback pizza as we were driving by, quickly did a U-turn and checked it out on Yelp....5 stars all around, and much deserved! We both did the slice deal....only $5.95 for a pint and a slice? Great deal. I was glad to see they had Ranger on tap and was included in the deal. I had a slice of pineapple, and the reviews were right- crunchy, cripsy goodness. The dough has herbs/spices in it, and it tastes fresher than regular dough. Plus, service was probably the friendliest I've witnessed at a pizza joint. Both guys came to check on us on the patio and ask how the pizza was/make small talk. Will be back to order pies! read more
