We were bummed about getting rained out of camping this past weekend so promised ourselves we would spend the time checking out places we hadn't been to around the area instead. We came over to Osage Gardens to pick up some plants and decided we were starving on the way back- saw Hogback pizza as we were driving by, quickly did a U-turn and checked it out on Yelp....5 stars all around, and much deserved! We both did the slice deal....only $5.95 for a pint and a slice? Great deal. I was glad to see they had Ranger on tap and was included in the deal. I had a slice of pineapple, and the reviews were right- crunchy, cripsy goodness. The dough has herbs/spices in it, and it tastes fresher than regular dough. Plus, service was probably the friendliest I've witnessed at a pizza joint. Both guys came to check on us on the patio and ask how the pizza was/make small talk. My husband loves this pizza. Service is always friendly. Service is quick. Not a lot of room to sit and eat so consider calling ahead.

Let me break it down for you.. we used to live less than 5 miles from Hogback, and now we live over 30 miles away. Its totally worth the 60 mile round trip drive for a Large Traditional Neglect or Easy Rider. Even though my hubby & I constantly cannot decide between "cut regular" or "Cut like a pie" I like the squares, he likes the slices. I win sometimes. The employees are awesome & we love the atmosphere. Its one of the first places we went to when we moved her and we have continued to make it there no matter how far we we may have moved from it. read more

This is some really good pizza, in fact perhaps one of my favorites! It's that thin greasy sort of pizza which you either love, or hate. I for one, love it! You can also get calzones which are also very good. The atmosphere of the place is very nice, and fun. Their are fun pinball machines to play so bring some quarters. The only problem is that it can get a bit crowded, which is a bit tight for the small building. Another thing to note, (which may have been fixed) is that the door to the bathroom just pops open, so knock first. read more

Stopped by on our drive back to California and Yelp did us right. This place was AMAZING!!! Started off with the hogknuckles (pepperoni filled bread knots) and they were delish! Ordered the BBQ chicken pizza and all I can say is WOW! Thin crust pizza done right. Food was delicious and the staff was great. Great staff, pizzas with generous toppings and cheese, great crust, super flavor. One of my favorite spots to eat in Colorado. Was recommend by a friend.the service was slow,but they were busy, that was understandable. I asked to have the pizza cut in a regular way and was told it was ok. And not a problem. We recently moved to New Castle and are so glad they have so many nice restaurants. Hogback is our favorite! The pizzas are excellent and they have a good supply of beer on draft. The staff are very friendly. The atmosphere is very cool. There are pinball machines and interesting memorabilia . They also have a drink and a piece of pizza special for $5.95. We live on Main Street in New Castle and love Hogback Pizza! Thin crust, tasty toppings, friendly service. We even like how they cut the pizza into small squares. We usually get it to bring home but the new patio looks inviting...we'll be hitting it up in warm weather. read more

Awesome pizza and that's coming from a guy who knows his pizza. Defiantly the best pizza place I've eaten at in the Vally. I love the pinball machines. The one criticism I have is that It's a bit on the spendy side for a pizza place. Also, when I ordered water they only gave me the option of bottled water. So, my recommendation is to get it to go and get your own beverages else where. read more
