Broke my rules with the fried stuff but it was worth it (I only did one fried roll) The JMU roll was slightly sweet and had an interesting combination with the peppered tuna. I liked it! We came here with a large party of 19 people. My child has food allergies, so I politely asked the waitress if she could have a simple bowl of steamed rice instead of the full buffet. The waitress was very rude and said no, that if my child is a sit-down customer she must pay for the all-you-can-eat buffet -- or she can only have a drink. I was shocked by the lack of understanding or compassion for a child with food allergies. When I tried to explain, she spoke over me and even said, in a heavy accent, "Can somebody who speaks English explain to her?" -- which was incredibly disrespectful and unprofessional. We were there to enjoy a meal together, not to be treated this way. Food allergies are a serious matter, and basic courtesy should never depend on ordering a buffet. We will not be returning, and I hope management takes this seriously and trains their staff to handle allergy requests respectfully. read more

We have been enjoying visiting here almost 1x at week and every special occasion since moving here last summer. Johnny and the entire staff go out of their way to keep the food coming out hot, especially the steak hibachi which they cook to your personal temperature preference and keeping us smiling. I just moved out here recently and decided to check this place out after a coworker recommended it. The menu is all you can eat and everything comes in small portions so its perfect for people wanting to try multiple items without having to worry about over-ordering. The fish is really good quality, the crab rangoons were piping hot and delicious, miso soup had a ton of flavor, the one and only thing I didnt care much for was the chicken fried rice but it was still decent tasting. As for the service, I had Amanda who was super sweet and very attentive. She offered to explain the menu to me immediately, and came back consistently to see if I was ready to order more. every time i go to an AYCE sushi place i create a list!! the environment was a little depressing, very quiet even with a lot of customers there. however, my table and i made it very fun as we sat right under the speaker where they played music and it was quite entertaining. service was very quick and food came out on time as well. i'd say 3 stars only because i focus more on the food this time. the rice ratio was off it was too much i had to cut the rice in half oops. the seaweed or the nori in the roll was very stale you can taste the expiration... so i didn't order any rolls next. the appetizers were really good. my favorite was the calamari although there were only 4 rings. the takoyaki had no seasoning it was just fried balls that looks like hush puppies but it was still creamy and and chewy (bc of the octopus) just how i like my takoyaki! the shumai shocked me with how great it was, but it was a little sweeter than most shumai. the shrimp and steak lomein was the best entre by far or probably the best by any AYCE sushi places i've been to. it was a large plate and the noodles were the right consistency. most of the places i've been use really thin chinese noodles and it's too soggy and no flavor :// the price wasn't bad but could've been better regarding them using expired nori sheets.. $24 for AYCE with tax i believe it was $32 per person. read more

Met up a good friend who lived 2 hours away from this here establishment and so we decided to meet up and split our distances. Yes, it took me 2 hours and 10 minutes to get to this establishment so I'm definitely going to write a review. They have your typical Sushi/Habashi meal selection as well as the option for an All-You-Can-Eat. I usually don't do that latter option for Sushi but my friend decided for us already. Parking is just in the parking lot and given that this is very small country town in Harrisburg, VA, there's really not that much people. In fact my friend was saying that there's a local college population here too so it may appears that it would be busy and popular. Two door entrances to a hallway gathering area that leads to a double window door entrance to the main reception area. There are plenty of seatings from booths table to traditional rectangular table with different sections throughout the restaurant. We went with a booth that could definitely seat up to 6. After bearing seated, I ordered my drink and away we go with ordering and tasting different items off the menu. We tried the hand roll sushi, and the fried sushi roll. It was fulfilling but I've had better ones in Cali, Vegas and even Utah. We tried the Nikuri sushi, especially the Salmon, the Red Clam, and the Shrimp nikuri. They were all great. The only issue I had with the Nikuri was the portion of the fish. Usually, they would be much much bigger. The ones they make are too thin and small. Too bad I was enjoying the food too much to realize that I didn't take any food picture. Oh well. Highly unlikely to visit again because this was sort of out of my way in terms of traveling. Anyhow, we tried a bit of everything here and there since we are paying $18.99 per person for the All you can eat. I recommend coming here for lunch to try out the food. This used to be our favorite place. I gave them 1 star earlier this year when they changed their menu and the sushi was horrible. After hearing they changed back to the old all you can eat menu, we decided to give them another chance. Sushi was even better than before. Prices are higher than before, but very reasonable for the quality and exceptional sushi. The tempura was excellent too and included in the price. So happy to have our favorite restaurant back. Great service, terrible food, sad to say. The workers were so kind to our big family, so accommodating and welcoming. The fact of the matter is you're not going to get quality sushi at an all you can eat place. The ratio of fish to rice was SUPER off, always more rice and really thin pieces of fish. The special rolls were filled with things that shouldn't be in rolls like Panko. The fish wasn't bad, but you get very little of it. The food is generally very good. The teriyaki beef is actually amazing. My only complaint is the uneaten food policy. I kinda feel bad complaining about it because I understand why they do it. And it must be a pain to try to have flexible rules about it, but I shared two appetizers with my husband and ordered 3 rolls. Two of them were not tasty. Too much eel sauce. And I only ate one piece from each roll. And so I didn't order that much and honestly didn't like part of what I ordered. So the charge, even though it's reasonable at $3, kinda bummed me out. And then, the waitress over explained and over apologized about it, which made it feel worse. So overall, a good deal for good food. My boyfriend and I love coming here when we're in the area. This place is like A Disney world for sushi! For a flat rate per person you can get unlimited all you can eat sushi, hibachi, dessert, appetizers or anything on the menu. Everything I've had from sushi to noodles was delicious. They offer special rolls under the price! While it isn't the best sushi I've had it's worth the price and experience. It leaves you feeling satisfied and content. Sushi is fresh and hibachi is cooked to order. They aren't skimpy on portions or make you wait to put in orders, if you want you could walk in and order as much as you want! Make sure not to leave leftovers though (they do mention a leftover fee) I wouldn't waste much time on appetizers unless you want to try them, I would go straight for the money aka sushi and steak hibachi (totally recommend). It certainly doesn't taste like a place that lowers the quality to be able to fill higher demand. Make sure you come hungry to take full advantage!! The parking is kind of annoying, but in their defense most of Harrisonburg has horrible parking. The outside of the building didn't really impress me, you can tell it has been there for a while. The waitress is very polite and brings more water or whatever drink you order in a timely manner. She checked often to see what else we wanted to order (this is an unlimited sushi/hibachi menu). I get hibachi and appetizers while I'm here since I'm allergic to rice. The hibachi and yum yum sauce are great, they cook things just how you ask! The shrimp tempura are on point! They have the perfect crispiness, slight sweetness, and dipping sauce. I'm a huge fan! No where else in town has anything like them. I'm not a huge fan of their crab rangoon, because they're not sweet at all;however I've only ever found 2 places that have great crab rangoons. This is a fairly new ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT sushi place that has a large selection of food from nice dumplings and such as appetizers, kitchen stir fry dishes like Teriyaki Chicken/Steak/Shrimp. And of course they have a large selection of sushi, hand rolls, and specialty rolls. They are restaurant style so you can order as much food as you want and they will make it for you and bring it to you, instead of picking items from a food line. They also only allow you to order 3 rolls at a time for each person. Their appetizers are very good. They have fried dumplings, shumai. pepper tuna, and various other dishes. They also have a small selections of salads and side dishes like kani salad and such. Their kitchen dishes are also very flavorful and come with two very pleasant sauce selection on each plate. Each dish comes with a good amount of veggies as well for some freshness. The down side is that these dishes may contain a bit more salt that they should need. Even hours after eating here I was extremely thirsty all night. The sushi and the rolls are where this place makes its money. My favorite roll is the Angel roll, because it contain a shrimp tempura and has crab meat on top with a nice mango drizzle on top. This roll is a must try! All the other rolls are pretty straight forward, and you get exactly what you see on the menu. There deep fried rolls are very good as well, because who doesn't like things fried right??? You should definitely try the dynamite roll is you are in the mood for deep fried rolls. One draw back about their sushi is they use a little too much rice in their rolls. They also provide 5 types of ice cream as dessert: green tea, red bean, chocolate, vanilla, and I'm not sure what I the last flavor is. The other item is a cheese cake which isn't that great, let alone taste like cheese cake. I would say this is the best sushi place, and has great variety. But I would say that compared to sushi you would get from somewhere from from a major cities they would be about average. All the staff are also foreign so it may be hard to communicate with them as well, unless you are fluent in mandarin. read more

Customers beware this place is using the so called "State Mandate on Masks" as a way to extract another $1. You come up to the door and they have signs requiring masks, if you ask for one, they state there will be a charge for $1 per mask. Been going to this place for awhile and never had problems, except for the rude manager. This past time will be the last. The last roll of sushi I got tasted old and chewy so I told the waitress. Even after saying the sushi tasted odd the manager wanted me to pay for it. She lost regular 2 customers over 3$. We Will never come again. Let me start off by saying I hate writing poor reviews. I avoid writing them when I can because I understand that this job is someone's livelihood and everyone is entitled to an off day or two. With that being said... Today was the absolute worst experience my colleagues and I have ever had at a restaurant here in Harrisonburg. We've eaten here weekly for the past couple of months; the service being mediocre at best. Today, it took them over 40 minutes to bring two very simple orders out. Mind you, everyone else at our table received seconds and thirds while two of my colleagues waited patiently. People who came in twenty minutes after we did received their food before them as well. Not only were our orders messed up (on several occasions as this is certainly not the first time this has happened), the manager of the restaurant came in and went on a boisterously exasperated rant because there was one - literally one - piece of untouched sushi. The lack of professionalism displayed was astounding. Pro tip: instead of chastising and berating your customers, just charge them like it says you will on the menu. I will not be returning to this establishment. I refuse to patronize a restaurant with subpar service when there are several other places in Harrisonburg that provide more efficient, customer oriented service.
