This is a cute little restaurant in a college town. They have a good sized menu. The staff is attentive and friendly. We enjoyed crab rangoons and fried oysters to start. The rangoons were tasty and my dinner partner loved the oysters. I really enjoyed the Kani salad. We each chose a poke bowl. I loved the tuna, she enjoyed the crab. This place is quaint and it was popping around 730pm on a Tuesday. Tables moved quickly though, and while some parties seemed to have a wait, it wasn't more than 5-10mins. The staff were incredibly sweet and also very busy. They didn't have much time for check ins outside of taking orders and dropping off food. I got the spicy beef ramen and it was really good. I probably should've asked for light spicy but the spice was like the red pepper paste on top so it was possible not to mix it all in. It wasn't too spicy for me, but it definitely woke my sinuses up. The beef off the bone was awesome! The other beef style was fine. I really enjoyed the boba tea and it was refreshing paired with the spicy soup. The server recommended her favorite, honeydew, and I added strawberry boba. Overall delicious, quick stop! read more

The food and service were fantastic! We were able to enjoy ourselves thoroughly in the restaurant.

I really wanted it to be good, and the two stars are only for the ramen because I'd have to rate one star based on the sushi and cleanliness. The ramen was good - but not great. Probably pretty good for around here but I've had some really amazing ramen in CA and it doesn't compare. The pork in the spicy ramen was ok, and the broth was flavorful. The bok Choy could have been charred and it would have been better. The sushi menu is extremely limited, and they didn't even have a spicy tuna roll and couldn't prepare one. That's a pretty basic tool to not offer. So I wanted to try and find a new spot, but this isn't hitting for me. The big ick for me was the flys. Parking in front and side of restaurant. No wait on a Saturday night around 7pm (6 people). Quickly greeted and sat. The staff were so friendly and prompt. The menu ranges from sushi, to poke, to ramen. I got the tantanmen and it was so flavorful and filling. The toppings were generous and fresh. The sushi rolls were affordable and tasty. My friends got the poke bowls and bang bang shrimp and were very pleased. Will definitely be coming back! Great atmosphere, service, and food!!! read more

We have been to Hokkaido many times now and have tried several of the dishes. I will say it has all been extremely tasty and of good quality! Also, the portion sizes are generous and the staff are so very friendly and welcoming and the ambiance is perfect. Do yourself a favor and try some ramen, Japanese curry or sushi. If you've never tried ramen and are on the fence about it, order the "chicken rich". It might just be the best chicken soup you'll ever taste and the chicken is thick slices of juicy chicken breast. Stopped here to take a break from backed up traffic on 75. This could be the best place to eat in Richmond. The interior was clean and well done. Nice dining chairs! There were two in my party and we each got poke bowls - one salmon and one unagi (eel). These were very large portions. These were good, but I suggest leaving out the iceberg lettuce and corn because they just don't fit with the dish. And I'd say go a touch lighter on the sauce next time. Ramen was good and flavorful. I liked how they smeared the hot paste on the side of the tantanmen bowl so you can choose how spicy you wanted to make it. Got an order of pork buns to share. It was okay, a little dry and missing hoisin sauce or had very little of it. Daughter got gyoza and she enjoyed it. Staff was pleasant and friendly. Service was quick and efficient. Sushi was very good. Simple yet exceptional. We had the eel roll and the Alaska roll as appetizers. My husband had the unagi bowl and liked it very much. I had the tantanmen ramen and was blown away by it. Had to resist drinking the last bits straight from the bowl. 10/10 recommend. I look forward to trying out more of the menu. read more

The Hibachi chicken with noodles is amazing. The crab rangoon however are some what small, and had less filling than some of the other places we have ate at but it was still tasty. All the ingredients are very fresh and food was prepared to order, not sitting around under a heater. We stared off with some Edamame (steamed soy beans in sea salt). Not really my favorite, I did love the Ikigesoe Karange (Japanesse style calamari). They also offer fried oysters that they serve with katsu sauce. I also get a Philadelphia roll, which was a traditional roll. My wife had the Volcano roll, the spicy mayo and sirachin sauce was outstanding. The high light of the evening was the Poke Bowsl, I had the Pork Chashu Don that has a in house sauce that is simply amazing. My wife enjoyed the Chicken Curry Rice which has a house made yellow sauce, potatoes, onions and carrots. We got two orders of the Ramen to go, which was the main reason we came. One was the Spicy Ramen, and it was SPICY. The second one was the Tom Yum Seafood Ramen, a combition of shrimp, crab, mussels combined with green onions and jalapeno. They were both flavorful and fresh made. This place is fairly new to the area, the soft opening just occuring 4 days ago. It is definalty worth a try. Clean environment, and quick service. The staff did a excellent jon being the first week they are open. They were all very friendly and welcoming. They did a killer job for being so new. Came for lunch one recent Saturday and we were quickly greeted and seated at a clean table in a lightly busy dining area. Our order was taken and we asked for tea and water to drink, tea came immediately but the water only came after asking three times after ordering our food. Our order included appetizers which showed up in a timely manner and were quite yummy. Watching other tables who arrived after us get served food while our ramen bowls never showed up after waiting close to half an hour and being told nothing until I got up and went to the counter to ask was frustrating though. Then after a nearly 30 additional minutes passed we decided to leave and got up to pay for our appetizers when the server flew out of the kitchen with the two bowls in hand, apologizing for the delay and saying something about a mixup in the kitchen ‍ though we think she just forgot to originally put out order in when we first placed it. Wound up taking the bowls to go as we had already been there for well over an hour and needed to go. Once home we dug in to the ramen and found it really tasty, I would likely go again but I wouldn't dine in and only do takeout. read more
