Hokulani Shave Ice is so good! This amazing food truck specialized in authentic Hawaiian shave ice which is nothing like raspas, or whatever other shave ice version we are used to in San Antonio. Something key about them is that they use real fruit on their shave ice, which makes everything taste 10x better. Because of this, their menu is constantly changing according to fruits which are in season, but I can assure you that anything you order will be delicious. During our last visit, we got the strawberry shave ice with strawberry ice cream and it was super yummy. Highly recommend following them on Instagram so you can check out their schedule. They are always moving around the city and do pop-ups in different businesses or events. Last but not least, the owner is always super friendly which makes the overall experience so much better.

They use real syrups from fruit so if you miss lilikoi, it's the real deal with even the seeds in the syrup. That said, warn ur kids that the lime and lemon are sour and not sweet like lemonade. We waited 45 min in 92F hot sun. 40 people were in line BEFORE it opened. I recommend trying on a weekday when it may not be so busy (fingers crossed). The shaved ice is not as fine like Matsumoto's, BUT they use all natural syrups. Someone also wished they carried mochi balls for a topping. Another recommended playing Hawaiian music outside while people waited ;) def a place to visit in the TX summer and def worth checking out instead of having to fly all the way to Hawaii!

Hōkūlani Shaved Ice is such a fun food truck and easily one of the best spots for a refreshing treat. The shaved ice itself is light, fluffy, and packed with flavor thanks to their wide range of syrups, ice cream add-ins, and creative toppings. They offer some really fun specials if you want to be surprised, but you can also build your own masterpiece if you like mixing and matching. I especially loved getting to try a new syrup flavor, pineapple with Li Hing Mui, it was sweet and tangy. Whether you're sticking to a classic combo or going adventurous, this is a place worth stopping by again and again.

These are some of the absolute sweetest business owners in the greater San Antonio area. If you love great people, amazing service, and SHAVE ICE do yourself a favor and drive out to treat yourself ASAP!

Ever since our trip to Hawaii my wife has been following Hokulani and trying to get us to go. Well this past weekend we finally had a chance to try them out at the Pearl Farmers Market. We were there pretty early so avoided most of the crowds and had time to check out the menu without being in too many people's way. Ultimately my wife decided on guava limeade and strawberry with the coconut cream and I did strawberry and blueberry with the coconut cream. The staff was very friendly and made our order fast. Now if you didn't know there's a big difference between shave ice and a raspa/snow cone. These were by far the best shave ice we've had outside of Hawaii! The ice was super smooth, the flavors were excellent, and the coconut cream was the perfect addition. Would highly suggest you give Hokulani a try for a treat, especially while it's so hot out!

First time and won't be the last! Fast and friendly service. Luckily there wasn't a line when we went. Love the flavor options and how fluffy the ice was. It wasn't clumpy or weird, just the perfect consistency. It can be pricey depending on what you add, but I thought it was worth it.

I ordered the "First Class Ticket to Hawaii" shave iced and it was refreshing, fresh and delicious!! We did wait in line for a little over an hour but it was worth the wait. Make sure you bring your umbrellas and prepare to wait for the delicious shave ice. The staff were warm and welcoming...made me feel like family as they spoke to me and all their customers.

Perfect summer treat... just gotta eat fast! You can tell the couple running this food truck love what they do and love food and people! Everything was clean and seems to be running well. I actually missed the Yelp Elite event by a day (life...) but I a special effort to track them down (schedule posted on their FB page) and get us some Hawaiian shaved ice! Cold, refreshing, satsifying, unique, and delicious! Don't be afraid to mix things up a little... Prices are great, so come back for more! We will be... Only negative, no shaded seating at the truck.

I followed Homulani on their Instagram page to find out when they would be at a location near me and then made a plan to take my girls out for a sweet treat. I loved interacting with the staff. We chatted about the AAPI Heritage Month Passport and shared some of our favorite places on the list. I ordered a 1/2 strawberry & 1/2 watermelon shaved ice with chocolate ice cream for my girls and a 1/2 mango & 1/2 pineapple shaved ice with vanilla ice cream for me. I loved the natural flavors instead of syrups and the outcome is SO GOOD! We will definitely return for more.

So I might have a small obsession with this shave ice, but it's so good and it's the best way to cool off in the intense Texas Summer. I absolutely love the coconut with raspberry, pro tip add vanilla ice cream in the middle and coconut cream on the top! The tamarin is also AMAZING! This is a little fast of Hawaii you can find in Texas The owners are the nicest people and they always make you feel like Ohana. Disclaimer - once you try this place all other shave iced will be ruined. They use real fruit syrups and it's delicious. P.s. the pups also love the treats!

Texas is currently muggy with a high of 104 this week. With that being said, the reprieve this shave ice gave me in this TX heat was exactly what I needed! I had the lilikoi (passion fruit) topped with li hing mui powder, and it was delicious! Their syrups aren't too sweet, which in my book, is the biggest compliment any dessert can get. The service was also very friendly and I'll definitely be back!

We were on a search for dessert after lunch and saw some folks we had gotten shaved ice desserts from Hokulani. We're glad we found Lloyd and his dessert food truck! I had the razzmatazz and pineapple with homemade banana ice cream while my husband had the razzmatazz and armadillo blood with vanilla ice cream. Refreshingly good! There's still some summer left so check it out and enjoy! Love that Hokulani means heavenly star!

We have been following their Instagram. On Wednesday we were lucky enough to have them in our side of town and 15 min before they were set to close, we were able to get our shaved ice fix. I had the mango and lime with li hing mui powder. It was the perfect combination. A little sweet and a little tangy. Just what I wanted. My boyfriend had the coconut pineapple with coconut cream. I'm so getting something sweeter next time cause I need that coconut cream in my life. It was light, fresh and definitely tastes like coconut. The owners are super nice. I can't wait till they are back on my side of town

A taste of Hawaii. These are the best shaved ice in San Antonio. The coconut cream on top is my favorite.

I hadn't looked too much at the reviews and didn't realize that it was a food truck. Google maps initially directed us to the plaza area where the stores were instead of the parking area where the food truck was. The New Orleans style intrigued me and they were so nice to provide us with samples of the shaved ice and different flavors. Pillowy soft ice for sure and very reasonable prices! My husband and I both had the Cajun sizes though after I got started, it felt like a lot for me. I had the Blueberry and Pina Colada combo. I think the Blueberry took over the Pina Colada taste and color in my cup. That's the only reason why I didn't give it 5 stars. My husband had the Root Beer and Strawberry and enjoyed his. Strawberry is one of their more popular flavors. Until I looked at the reviews, I didn't realize that this food truck has been around for several years already! Definitely a great one to remember for more hot summer days!
