Great place to have a drink before (and after ;^)) the movies - It's right next door!

This place used to be a favorite. Tonight the food was bland. The margs tasted watered down. Service was wam bam thank you mam.

Had a great time here this Sunday afternoon. Service was fast and food was delicious. Waiter also made us a special pitcher that wasn't even on the menu. We asked for a spicy jalapeño red cactus margarita pitcher. It was amazing definitely recommend. read more

Ate at Hola in the Old Mill District last Sunday night around 9:30 p.m. Had the chicken burrito and boy what a mistake. I just didn't taste right and I should have stopped right there. Unfortunately, I didn't, and ended up vomiting violently for 11 hours, starting the next day. My friend who had the chicken tacos did exactly the same. A complete nightmare. Our other 2 friends who stayed away from the chicken were fine. It's a real shame that a restaurant cant use basic safe and clean standards. Will NEVER eat here again. I was dying some Mexican by this point of my Oregon trip so we headed to Hola. We sat outside which was really nice even though your in a nice strip mall. I had enchiladas and split a picture of margaritas. The food and drinks were delicious and the service was quick and friendly. read more

Building is in disrepair just like a building in Mexico. The walls were chipped and the bathrooms were dirty and a mess. The service was very slow and I actually had to get up to pay the bill. The fish tacos were the worst we've ever had. There was only one small piece of fish, a skinny slice of avocado, a bit of cabbage and no sauce that could be tasted all wrapped in a flour tortilla. This is our 3rd and FINAL try at Hola. No more wasted money or experience in this place. read more

Hola is one of our favorite restaurants in Bend. We come here every year on vacation. Tonight I enjoyed the Peruvian Baby Back Ribs and my wife enjoyed the Ali Tuna. And we shared the guacamole which they prepare fresh at your table. We love their food and the service is exceptional. read more

Visiting Bend and decided to come here for lunch. Right away I could tell that service was not going to be the best, we still went and sat outside. It took a long time to have a server come and take our order. We got the Baja burrito, which I don't recommend because it is literally only filled with meat. No sauce, cheese, veggies, onions, nothing except for the meat. We also got the Rojas enchiladas, and the sauce was like water and I didn't even get the filling I asked for. At the end we had to wait 20 minutes for the bill. I do not suggest this place, AT ALL! read more

Mmm.. we didn't get that... maybe because we (family w/ a small kid) didn't order a drink, though. The complimentary chips (tortilla and potato) were kind of soggy, but it might be only me. My husband ordered fajita, which wasn't on the menu, and loved it. It didn't come out for some time but it was "worth the wait" he said. I thought the meat was a little too burned/tough but he didn't think so. The kiddy (4) ordered cheese quesedila kids' meal and ended up eating just bean&rice coz it wasn't cheddar. I liked it ok. But it's a little pricey as other people say.. $5 doesn't even include a drink (milk, etc.) . I ordered taco&enchilada set and liked it ok. Again, it's a little pricey ($12, I think). This was our first visit recommended by our friends. Our ceviche appetizer (ahi tuna with yams) was different than I expected and very, very good. My husbands pork tamales were also very good, moist not the dry bricks we've ended up with. The blackberry margaritas made with fresh berries were awesome (I had 3). My mole enchiladas were good, but I prefer a spicer mole sauce, but if you don't like spicier, this is a very good plate. Not sure about desserts, but we had more drinks and enjoyed the atmosphere & live music. We will definately be back, the service was excellent. read more

I was expecting cheap mexican food, but got something much more refreshing! I got the fish tacos which were a little more on the expensive side, but not deep fried like many do to fish tacos, which was great. A side of black beans and rice were well done and not loaded with lard. Sat outside with our pup which was delightful! The waiter was even nice when my dad sent back his drink because it wasn't right. All in all a great experience. read more

While visiting Bend we tried Hola. It's in the Old Mill shopping area. It's not so much Mexican but rather Peruvian food. I ordered the tequila steak tacos and my kiddo ordered bean burrito off the kids menu. My mom ordered the halibut grilled fish tacos and my sister got the nachos off the kids menu. We also ordered margaritas. The food was ok I can't say it was great or anything. The steak in my tacos was not over cooked and was decently seasoned. The kids bean burrito was just a sloppy mess and the nachos were simply chips with beans on them topped with cheese, same refried beans as the bean burrito. Again nothing to write home about if anything I would say the two kids meals weren't worth it at all. What stood out was the margaritas! They were fantastic! Served with a chili lime salt rim and you get the cocktail shaker with about an extra glass full. I would say this place is better for some apps and cocktails with good company! read more

Don't order the Seco de Pollo unless you like really salty, mayonnaisy foods because those were the only flavors in that dish. The tequila shrimp was also very dissappointing. Onions, bannanas, and shrimp cooked in tomato sause and tequila are not a good combination. Our experience with the food was so dissappointing that I'm scared to try the restaurant again even though there are probably better things on the menu and the atmosphere was not bad. read more

The food was delicious, but I felt like the wait staff was forcing show-boating style customer service and over friendliness (if that makes sense). Especially when a couple of them didn't think anyone was looking they would glare at us and several other customers. It made me very uncomfortable. read more

Stopped in for late dinner last night. These folks are accommodating and attentive. Good food, of course. We have been to multiple Hola locations and this is another good Hola experience in my opinion. Wife left her purse on the chair by accident, and "Paco" went running down the street looking for us. To start...standing in the entryway for nearly 30 minutes. Not a good start. Four guys behind the bar, just watching us standing at the door. Not looking forward to food here if the wait is any indication of the quality of the food therein. Unfortunately, can't give less than 1 star. Will not be returning! Wish I could give zero stars. This place must just bank on their location because nothing was even near being adequate. Service was slow and not friendly staff at all. Never seen so many employees standing around looking like they had nothing to donor didn't know what to do. They weren't even busy and was 10min or more any time you asked for a drink or anything. I ordered the taco salad and it was literally some chopped romaine, a little handful of shredded chicken with a piece of cheese melted on top. Maybe a teaspoon of guacamole and teaspoon of sour cream. Nothing else on it at all, zero flavor, zero seasoning. I asked for some salsa to put on it and they were out of salsa!! $13 for some chopped lettuce and couple oz of what looked like canned chicken heated up in the microwave. I made better food when I was teenager! My friend got the nachos, and while better than the salad it certainly wasn't anything to write home about. I would never recommend this place and it's a mystery how they are still in business with so many better places. read more

Again...nothing but the best! Wonderful, friendly, service-great recommendations and perfect timing. Fantastic dinner with fresh blueberry margaritas, could not recommend this place anymore!!! I have read through the reviews on here which is why I felt the need to update-you have my word: you can absolutely disregard anything negative you read here! We have eaten here on at least 8 separate occasions, and it has never let us down. One of the few places we will bring friends from out of town, because not only is it consistent, but the dishes are unique and will impress even the "foodiest " of your friends-even those who live in Portland! Everything we have tried has been great, but the top choices so far have been Halibut Ceviche, Ahi Chile Relleno, Causa Limena (I hope I am getting that one right), Seco de Pollo, and the Peruvian Seafood Platter (the name escapes me!) We visited at lunch, the restaurant was less than half full when we arrived. An hour later, we still didn't have food and people who had arrived long after us had already been served their food. After receiving untrue platitudes about how our food was coming, my husband finally had to get up and go to the service station to complain before they started cooking our food. He was told they only had one cook and he was doing the easiest food first. We had ordered a salad, a taco plate, and a dish of chicken stew. None of these things are complicated. When the food finally came they brought my husband the wrong dish. We were too hungry to complain at this point, it had been 90 minutes since we arrived. I've eaten here over the last 3 years. The staff is always prompt and the food is always fresh and hot. My go to is the chicken tacos. The chicken is always fresh and soft. I enjoy the crunch of the shell and the overall taste. The best part is that you never feel over full, yet you are full. read more

Then proceeded to just about slam our food down on the table when it came and didn't say a word, the food was just gross spent 17 a plate for dry stale food with no flavor I couldn't even eat the tacos because they were so dry just all around bad. Went here for dinner with a family of four and we all loved it. A great Margarita selection is the highlight of the solid cocktail list. Most of the the classic Peruvian dishes are on the menu. I had Peruvian style ribs and they were excellent. Very good, attentive service. read more

Been looking for Mexican food since moving to town, gave Hola a try. The drinks are delicious - Vanilla Margarita is amazing. Food is pretty bland though. Salsas don't have much spice, enchilada sauce tasted like plain tomato sauce. Beans, rice, everything was pretty meh. It was fairly late when we went in, waiter was definitely in a rush to get us out. Maybe different locations are better than others. Food is only ok, but well definitely be back for drinks! read more
