Searched the web for Holden Beach Jet Ski and up came Holden Beach Water Sports. The web site was…read moreinformative and even had a way to request by email a discount off the regular rate. The phone service was pleasant and quick. I called at 215pm during 4th of July week and asked if they had a jet ski available at 3pm and they had all but one of their jets out on the water. I only needed one for my wife and I. I showed up at 3pm under the bridge next to the Holden Beach Marina at the picnic tables area and went up to their window. An attractive young lady greeted my wife and I. She had us fill out the 1 page info sheet and 2 page instructional sheet. A few minutes later we were handed life jackets and were receiving clear operating and safety instructions on the dock. The jet ski was brand new and very nice. There was a dry glove compartment for my phone and wallet etc. but they gave me a free ziploc bag for good measure. My wife and I had a blast. We jetted over to our dock after a nice ride and I gave my daughter a quick little spin to see if she would like it the next time we rent one. She loved it. It IS really exciting. My wife and I actually got up to 54 mph when we got a clear stretch with no other boats around. The seats were very large and could have seated all three of us. The dead stop acceleration is unbelievably quick, lean forward and hang on! The steering responsiveness is very tight. It's easy to operate. You just have to remember there are no brakes! An attendant assisted us when returning to the dock and they even kept safe our shoes, keys, etc. for us while we were having fun on the water. The 1 hour went by like it was only 15 minutes but it was definitely worth the cost. Time flies when you're having that much fun. We will definitely rent from Holden Beach Water Sports again. Great fun and friendly service!

We were in the right place (inside Carolina Beach State Park, at a tent near marina) and early. We confirmed with other workers within the park that this was the correct location for Wilmington Jet Ski Rentals. There's no one at the tent. About 10 minutes after we should have been on the jet ski, and after calling the company multiple times without any response, we get a vague text about how there's been some kind of "issue". They told us someone would be there in about 10-15 min so we said okay and waited....BUT THEY NEVER SHOWED UP! After waiting that extra time, we got another text that asked us if we wanted a full refund or to come back hours later to try again?!? Still no transparency about what the issue was. Did someone die?!? Is a jet ski on the bottom of the ocean?!? Did the workers pass out drunk? Wtf? We still don't know! We did get our refund but yikes, terrible customer service and no transparency. Just tell me some dude OD'd in his pickup truck or crashed a jet ski into a bridge and broke his femur...SOMETHING! We would have come back later or the next day if we had any confidence we would actually get on the jet ski! Never this company again. Bad look for the state park, too.

We always ask for our guide, Chris, as he is super friendly and knowledgeable. I always feel safe as he looks out for the group, but there is plenty of time to zoom around on your own, too. My favorite part last year was coming up on a pod of dolphins near a shrimp boat. There had to be at least 15 of them (even a baby)! They were close enough you could have touched them. I want to give a shout-out to the staff of Island Adventure Watersports. We just finished a…read moretwo-hour jet ski tour and had a great time! The staff proved to be considerate, professional, and cordial even in the face of some customers who did not extend the same courtesy. One of the scheduled parties was running late. The staff called the party several times to give them grace and the opportunity to make the tour. That was above and beyond expectations and quite courteous, especially considering the policy outlined in the booking verification email. That party was able to participate because of that kindness. Once the tour got going, my spouse and I fell a bit behind. Yet, one staff member waited and led the way without complaint. She checked in with us and also recognized quickly when we later lost a hat (we were able to retrieve it, fortunately). She circled back to get us. At one point, a customer got stuck in some trees. The two staff members coordinated with one another to help the stuck individual and still attend to the rest of the group. The staff also had to contend with folks repeatedly ignoring safety protocol, yet kept their cool in the face of these circumstances. Our trip was great in spite of the hiccups caused by other parties, and the staff get full credit for making this tour as awesome as it was! Thank you for a memorable, fun, and unique experience! Our guide, Zack, recognized that I was unfamiliar with jet skis, so he took the time to fully explain how they work. He checked on me throughout the tour, providing tips and demonstrations when necessary. My husband and daughter were on another jet ski. When they flipped, the guide immediately turned around and jumped in the water to assist them. The whole experience was organized and professional.
