We moved here from another state 2023. And I'm sceptical on who I could trust to take care of my Audi. I found this shop via internet. Whenever I tried to do research for a good place, I go to the internet and look for a very good stars and read people's comments. And I could attest that most of the good comments I read were actually true. You could tell and feel it in your heart when you walked in through that door... And my experienced with them taking care of my car were positive feeling. I immediately got a good impression of this place. The crew are friendly, and very welcoming. They seemed to have a very good knowledge about the business. They don't seem like any other car shop that will only sell you bs. I kinda had a feeling of trust towards them. I'm very impressed with the system while your car is on the operating table :) You'll be informed of everything that's going on with your car via text with a picture and a link of video to explain everything. Just like in a big car dealership but in a small car shop. The price is kind a little high for me, but as the saying goes..hey "YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR". My sister was driving by herself on the way from California to Sedona, AZ and her car stopped working on the I-40! Thankfully, she had her car towed to Holden's Auto Shop and she said the staff were all so kind. She said they were already having an extremely busy day and when she arrived at the shop, it was late in the day. They were able to identify her car's issue, order the correct part from another shop in the city, and fix it up all in that short time, so that she could get back on the road again. I recently had an issue with my vehicle that I would take to my mechanic that I have used for years. Unfortunately, they were too busy to take care of the problem. Do not ues. They are all about the up selling. They don't fix and tell you just come back. We can't find the problem. Scott is all about up selling and will treat you badly. They will not fix even though you have a warntty. Scott will say .I have the right to refuse service. Orginal charge was a bit over 300. For air recharge. 3 trips . Keeping my car for a week on second trip with appiotment. 3 trip 3 and a half wait.before they said dont know whats wrong come back. When questioned. My first experience with Holden's was exactly how it's supposed to be. It's a clean, professionally run shop. My car needed a couple of seals and a timing belt. They not only did the job in one day, but gave me a ride home and picked me up later that afternoon when the car was ready. I was an ASE certified brake & suspension mechanic for 39 years before retiring and moving to Kingman couple years ago. I owned an alignment & brake shop in Hawaii for 22 years, so I know what to look for when hiring a mechanic to do a job that I don't want to do. *BEST CAR SERVICE IN KINGMAN* My cousin and I are on a cross country road trip and had broken down. We took the car to an auto shop that was closest to us because they told us to come in and they'd take care of us. But if care is over 1800$ and stolen radiator cap then I don't know. Mind you, we are driving an older 2005 Prius- so obviously we aren't looking for a complete replacement- just to get back on the road safely. So we ended up taking the car over to get a second opinion at Holdens and Scott at the front had us taken care of in seconds. He had a driver pick us up and take us to and from our Airbnb. So talk about no stress! Literally maybe 45 mins later, they had a diagnosis and ordered all parts needed. We ended up leaving only being charged just a smidge over $500. For being two young adults out alone in the country- we are both so grateful to have found them. Great people. Great service. Fast. Reliable. read more

Holden's drove my cousin and I to our Air BNB and also picked us up when our car was ready. They communicated everything to me as it was happening and explained and sent pictures of everything their doing. They are all so friendly and helpful with everything. I dropped my car off on Friday. They're closed on the weekend and it was fixed within the first hour and a half they were open on Monday. I went to TNT Auto and got quoted $1800. I then went to Holden's and got my car fixed for nearly a quarter of that. read more

This shop told me my transmission was shot and would be a week wait and over 6,000 in repairs when I had a little car trouble passing through Kingman. This shop tried to take advantage of me and over quoted by at least 2,000 dollars. I co tinged driving successfully all the way to Louisiana and back to California with no problems on the transmission they said had to be replaced! They are thieves! They fixed a major problem in two hours at a reasonable price and sent me on down the road safely and dependably,. Well there is nothing like have a broke truck in the desert. Headed Ca to Illinois pulling a trailer full of my house and having issues. I just got home from this business. Had them look at my wipers, they weren't working. Quoted me a high price, said I had to replace Passenger wiper motor. Got home and noticed my wiper blade was not put back, called them and they said it was in the back compartment. Went to put the wiper blade back on and NOW i can't get the bolt off to put the blade back on. The bolt is so tight that the whole part now moves. Never will go here again. NOW I DO have to buy a motor, but found one for $175 and I will replace it myself... read more

They checked my transmission fluid and discovered it had been overfilled by another automotive shop. They could have easily taken advantage and told me my transmission needed to be replaced but instead they were honest and drained the fluid and I was on my way. Me and my friend we're driving across the country from San Diego to NC and started having car trouble. We stayed in AZ that night and took our car here in the morning. We couldn't be more grateful for Scott and his team at Holden's Auto Service. We were driving home from California to New Mexico and somewhere east of Barstow my car started acting up. By Lake Havasu we knew we were in trouble. We called Holden's Auto on our way to Kingman and they said they could get us in as soon as we got there. We puttered into their parking lot, and they came out to check the engine codes right away. Within 20 minutes they diagnosed the problem and were ordering the part from in-town. In under 2 hours we were back on the road and very thankful for not only their quick turnaround, but the fact that we didn't feel they were taking advantage of our situation. They even offered to shuttle us to In-N-Out while we waited (since we're from NM we have limited opportunities to get our hands on a double-double). As travelers unfamiliar with the area, we feel extremely fortunate to have found an honest and sympathetic repair shop. Overall, very happy! read more

I called looking for help with a tire sensor light on my car. Scottys made an appt for me but I had to cancel so called and spoke to someone else who said I wasnt on the schedule umm. Then I called back a 2 weeks later and Scotty said they could fix to just bring it in. Well ge lied because when I got there he said for me to take it to the place who had fixed my flat tire. Well he knew what was wrong when I spoke with him the day before and knew the details why on earth would he make me drive a long distance to him just to be told he couldnt do it. My car would not start but everything else in the was working (lights, radio. garage door opener) so I had it towed into Holden's...they started on it that same day (with no appointment)...after doing some testing they called to tell me what was wrong and gave me my options before they did anything. Turns out it was our tires not the shocks. They could have made some money selling something that we didn't need but they were honest and very helpful - even calling around town to see who had our size tires and could put them on the same day. My car engine ended up low on oil and covered in oil after taking it to another shop for an oil change. I had a plane to catch in Las Vegas in a couple days and needed my car to get there. I called up Holden's and they got me in right away and fixed the problem getting me back on the road within a few hours and cleaned off all the oil off my engine, transmission and undercarriage of my car. I was expecting a decent size bill and was in complete shock when they told me the very low price. I will always use Holden's Auto Service when I'm in the area. read more

One word "life savers" my fiancé and I were on our way back home to Los Angeles, CA from our trip in Flagstaff, AZ. We stopped to put some gas at a near by gas station off the freeway and our car wouldn't start up. Keep in mind this was at 7:00 in the morning. i was very satisfied with the prompt service that i received on my 2001 chevy tahoe. my appointment was at 8 am and the service started at that time. was told it may take 4 to 5 hours for repairs. surprise, surprise, it only took the mechanic 3 hours to complete the repairs. vehicle runs great, has more power and now gets a bit better gas mileage. kudos to holdens for such a great job. even got a 2 year warrenty to go with the service. read more

My car had an issue when making the drive from phoenix to Vegas and luckily I found Holden's Auto Service in Kingman. They were so quick to diagnose the problem and provided me multiple possible solutions to get me back on the road a quickly as possible. They even drove me to a restaurant of my choice to have lunch while I waited for them to fix the car. People and prices at Holden's are both amazing. My vehicle was overheating and the AC wasnt cold. Took it to Holdens to be repaired. That was a HUGE mistake. They said I needed a thermostat and AC service. Afterwards they tried to charge me $84 dollars for thermostat housing I didnt need (The part at Autozone was $21). Charged me $44 for a part I could have got at Autozone for $23. Paid to have the AC inspected, repaired and charged. When I went to pick up the car, (after being told all the work was complete) it was leaking at the housing they replaced. Left the car there so they could finish the job. 2 days later, they called and said the work was complete. A week or so passed and the car was overheating again. Took it back to them and was told the thermostat they used was defective. They had the car for almost 2 more weeks. When the work was "completed" and I picked it up, the AC was not cold. They recharged it and I was on my way. I drove the car 2-3 times and the AC stopped blowing cold air. Took it back again and was told in now needed a AC condenser and AC hose and they had missed that during the initial inspection. Given Holdens history, I picked up the car instead of having them repair it. They did refund me for the $84 part and the AC service but only when I confronted them about it. read more

Well, what can I say? It was the 3rd of July and I was driving through Arizona. I was driving 105mph when my car decided to not let me go over 50 and keep slowing down until it wouldn't let me go period. Being on this road trip alone on the highway having no idea where Im at I panicked and pulled over since my car wouldn't go very fast anyways. I realize theres some symbol lit p and I have NO IDEA what it even means. I make a few phone calls and just when Im about to have a truck come tow me I realize the symbol is no longer lit up. So, I try to drive my car, it works! Well I was scared at that point it would happen again, so I decided I would get a room for the night and head out again in the morning. Before I got back on road I wanted to get my car checked, mainly because I couldn't go trough that again. So Holden's Auto was the only place open on the 4th of July so I stopped in. They got me in right away. The guy working on my car was an older gentlemen, SUPER NICE! I think he may have been the owner. Either way, I will never forget this place. He ran several tests on my car to make sure everything was ok. He finally told me the transmission over heated and shut its self down to protect it. He asked me how fast I was going and I told him between 95-110mps. He then gasped and told me "your car is not a race car and it never will me." Luckily I hadn't caused any serious damage to my car! He explained to me what had happened, why my car responded lie that and then walked me through an oil lean i had. Instead of saying i needed to get it fixed there he said its not that big of deal but when I get to my final destination to get it fixed and he wrote down what needed to be done. He didn't try to sell me any other services. He was really great. He did show me how bad my tires were and suggested I get at least two new ones before I head back on the road, as the ones I had probably wouldn't have made it. And he showed me how to tell my ties were bad. He didn't sell tires at his shop so he told me one that would be open. All in all, he charged me 100ish dollars to make sure my car wasn't damaged and to tell me everything i need to get done. The amount of tests and he did on my car was worth it. I'm glad this place was open and Im glad this shop isn't in it only for the money, but for their customers best interests. read more
