Majority of seating is tables vs. bar. The cocktail menu is unique and fun, with the different drinks named after famous and infamous gunslingers. I had a Baby Face Nelson which was attractive and delicious. At first I though it was a little weak but towards the end it hit with a bang (see what I did there). I also took advantage of the ladies night menu and got a $5 cucumber mint G&T. The cocktail pricing is what you'd expect, ranging from $12 to $16. The wine list is not extensive and I would not describe this as a wine bar. But, I would come here seeking a fancy cocktail anyway. No food served, but door dash menus are available and there is also a limited menu for direct delivery from the Indian restaurant across the road. The outdoor patio looks nice. We were there on the earlier side, around 5 PM on a weekday. Service was pretty attentive with only one waitress handling the tables. I think if they found a way to serve some simple appetizers and put in a railing along the walkway from the parking lot to the door (thinking of my husband here) I'd give it five stars. They have a weird rule in that they insist on scanning your ID, regardless of age, up until 7 PM any day - this is so that no one who orders a drink can go next door and shoot (where they also scan IDs). The shooting range closes at 7 PM. So shoot first, drink later.

The meal consisted of Chicken and Noodles, Mashed Potatoes, Corn, and a Roll, and it was delicious. Before the show, a POW/MIA Remembrance program was held, just like one was held last year. The program is to remember the servicemen who are Prisoners of War or Missing in Action. They brought back the POW/MIA table, and each component on the table had a different meaning. This program will become an annual event. After the program, Garrie and the band rocked the house!

I started hanging out once or twice a week at VFW 571 with my uncle and other family members and met a lot of genuine people there. The members are just good, down home county folk who love to have a good time, and the staff there is amazing. It's not like your typical hangout location. No fighting, no BS.. just good ole people who truly care about each other and treat you like you're on of the family. I am beyond blessed to be part of the family at the Connersville VFW. I tried the loaded tots and tenderloin. The tots were crisp, but not over cooked. There was adequate cheese and bacon on top of the tots, but not so much that they made the tots mushy. Too often restaurants pride themselves with "a tenderloin as big as your head", but this is accomplished by beating the tenderloin so thin that it's as thin as a sheet of notebook paper. So then all you ever really taste on the tenderloin is just batter and crisp crunch. If you are a lover of the crunchy 14 inch diameter tenderloin...this is not for you. The Maplewood tenderloin was breaded, thick and juicy. It is a little bigger than the bun, and you can load with toppings as you please. It was great surprise is now in my top 5 in the state! Updates: the pub is smoke free, restrooms are clean, and tables are sanitized. The mixed drinks are good. Try their special "baby beer" made with Licor 43, heavy cream and served in a mini beer shot glass. There are plenty of TV's if you are trying to catch a game and it is a laid back environment. And honestly I hate smoke, but I can handle it if it's just a few people - but this looked like something so exaggerated that it was straight out of an SNL sketch.
