We just returned from a FABULOUS weekend at Holekamp Guest House. 17 ladies rented the entire house and spent the weekend cooking together, hanging out in the pool and laughing around the fire pit. The house provides every amenity you can imagine, and the kitchen is totally stocked with anything you need for groups who l ike to cook. Ella and Joe were delightful hosts who gave us a tour of the home and grounds and were always available to answer questions. Don't miss this beautiful slice of the Texas Hill County! We will be back! This place is amazing and that's all that really needs to be said. However, it wouldn't feel right leaving it at that. Ive had the opportunity to stay there twice. Both times were equally great! Joe and Ella are so very hospitable and have really done a superb job at creating an environment that says home. My sisters, and niece, spent a few nights at this magnificent house! It was two magical days that we will NEVER forget! I can't say enough how lovely the Holekamp Guest Haus is in Comfort, Texas. The rooms are very elegant with beautiful furnishings throughout. The host, Joe & Ella, are amazing host and were so accommodating with our last minute request. We were in town for a wedding and enjoyed hanging out by the fire pit and relaxing. Smack in the middle of Hill Country is this lovely custom Sears house. Yes, apparently back in the day, Sears made houses from which you can choose from their catalog. They have one on the coffee table. Sears did a great job too. The house is awesome, with large rooms, and decorated beautifully by our hosts, John and Mary. They are both very personable hosts. While Mary cooks the best country breakfast you will probably ever eat (it was an filling 2 courses every morning), John tells you stories from his cattle ranching days, and about the history of ole Texas. Each room comes with a microwave and fridge that they stock for you with bottled water upon arrival. Also, Mary gives you her home made cookies. Yum. If you want to explore Hill Country, this is the place to stay and relax. It's right in the middle of all of the other small towns so you don;t have to travel far. You will also see a million stars if you look up at night. Something a city slicker like me don't see very often. read more

This was our first time to stay in a bed and breakfast and it definitely did not disappoint! John and Mary make you feel right at home when you walk in the door. The house is rustic and you feel comfortable as soon as you walk in. The environment around the house is so peaceful. We stayed in Otto's Vineyard and it was perfect! We had a private bath with a little heater so it was always nice and toasty. There was only a shower in this room and not a tub so be aware of that if you do decide to go with this room. Mary and John had everything prepared for our every need. They even had homemade cookies in our room for us when we got there! The breakfasts were delicious and had plenty of food! With it only being about 15 minutes away from Fredricksburg we will definitely be coming back for our next trip. read more

Best Bed and Breakfast ever! The home itself is absolutely gorgeous, freshly redecorated by owners Joe and Ella Gay. The rooms are spacious, well-appointed, and comfortable, and there are luxurious extras, such as a massage chair, pool, hot tub, and an outdoor fire pit. In the front room sits a working antique Victrola, which Joe will play for you on request! The breakfasts are delicious and served with a stylish presentation. Joe and Ella are an absolute delight! Lovely home with lots of character. Spacious rooms, comfy beds with lovely linens; fantastic breakfasts (yes, you will wake up to the aroma of coffee brewing or something good in the oven. Mary often uses herbs from her garden, just outside the door.) But the swing on the front porch: priceless! You can watch the sun rise in the morning or the deer circle the yard in the evening.
